Colin the Dock master made or stay easy . The docks were kept clean as new. The free bikes were handy. As was the free laundry. Very nice of Colin to bring us to grocery store before we left. The town has awsome Southern charm.
A real gem. Colin was fantastic in communications and the rest of the staff was superb. The facilities are wonderful and the downtown is in walking distance. Lovely town, great facilities - we will return!
5 stars is not enough. We were bringing our boat down from MD to FL and St. Mary's was one of our stops. What a gem! We arrived late and Colin happily texted us arrival details, came to greet us, helped us tie up, gave us the lay of the land and shared some dinner suggestions (thank you - Seagel's was great and we would definitely recommend it!). We were on a timeline, so we had to leave early the next day, so our stay was short but very memorable. Thank you. We would highly recommend staying here.
Colin the dock master gave us a quick tour of the town and was very informative Great spot We will definitely be back
The new docks here are wonderful. The team was friendly and helpful. The marina is adjacent to town and had bikes and laundry machines available for free. The office is actually an older ranch house and had a dining room set up with coffee and living room with comfortable sofas, TV, and great internet access.
Collin and his staff were top notch! Beautiful floating docks steps from downtown. We are so glad we made the stop. Gorgeous little town with friendly locals. Lots to see and do! A 15 min dingy ride to Cumberland Island which is another treat in itself. Highly recommended stop for all Loopers! You won't be disappointed.
Wonderful Marina staff: Colin, Bob, and Logan. Town is a great place to visit with nice restaurants and easy walk about or use the free Marina bikes. We happened to be there for one of the free concerts in the park which was good music and great vibes.
Awesome as usual. Fabulous dock master.
I cannot say enough about how nice this place is. Collin met us at the dock, helped us tie up and get connected to power, and welcomed us like family. And the next morning, Bob checked in when he saw me outside just to ensure everything was okay and that we were happy. The marina is small and transient only - 14 days max - but it's set in the most beautiful spot next to the coolest town I have visited in a very long time. And it's just a stone's throw from the ICW. In town you will find several restaurants and bars including Seagles Restaurant and Saloon where I had the best fried shrimp I've had since I was a kid in South Louisiana - and on night two, we got to hear live acoustic music from Colby Word of Whiskey Heart. There's also "Farm to Family" a small shop that sells some awesome locally-grown produce and products. And as if that wasn't enough, there's the Submarine Museum - pretty awesome. If you're up for it, you can take the ferry to Cumberland Island and see all the cool things out there as well, but we were pretty beaten down from non-stop cruising for many days and decided to forego another boat ride. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the St. Mary's Little Theater. Built into a converted railroad workshop, this place is nothing short of awesome. They're doing a production of Gilligan's Island: The Musical in October and we are considering driving back just to see it... The marina office and "captain's lounge" is a house - an actual house. Here, you will find immaculate bathrooms with showers and a "living space" with a huge television, a couch, chairs...etc. There's also a coffee maker and a microwave. The marina rents golf carts by the day and has courtesy bicycles for use for free. And if you have dogs, the house has a huge yard (not fenced) for you to walk them in. Again, I cannot say enough about this marina - how nice it was, how cool the town was, and how awesome the staff and the townspeople are. I can guarantee you we will spend at least two nights here on ever trip we pass by. Thanks again, Collin and Bob! Hope we get to see you all again soon :)
Hidden gem! Quiet and serene. Deep water. No bridges. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. It's a small city-run marina with brand new floating concrete dock, well lighted, with security gate. Super clean and well maintained. They have loaner bikes that look new and are garage kept (not the usual rust buckets with torn seats). You can rent a golf cart on premises. Since we always use our on-board facilities, didn't check the baths, but heard they're nice. Free washers/dryers! They also have a comfy captains lounge. Unfortunately, the weather was off/on rain for days so we didn't take advantage of the nice bikes. Very pet friendly with over 2 acres of mowed lawn and disposal bags adjacent to the bulkhead, so only a short walk. Bob and Colin went above and beyond to get us docked, set up and feel welcome. I even got a text message saying "Hey, i have a golf cart available today if you want to borrow it." In fact, we used it twice at no charge! They were always checking in to be sure our power was on and everything was OK as they'd had some lightening strike damage. We had no issues with our 50amp pedestal. We took the cart into the city for dinner on a Monday and The Firefly, a taco restaurant was open. Food was way better than i expected. Very creative and you could order mix/match tacos to try out the different options. Full menu and bar. Drinks were excellent, too. It exceeded expectations, for sure, and our waitress was wonderful. Even though it was mid 80's, we were comfortable on the large covered patio with it's overhead fans. I think this restaurant is fairly new, as it looks it. St. Mary's is a lovely historic town and worth a visit. The marina is small, pretty much a long double-sided T-head, but there were only two of us tied up there during our stay. Be sure to make reservations as space is limited. In the past we've stayed at Oasis Marina when in Fernandina, area but decided to venture out and try St. Mary's. You won't be disappointed. TOP NOTCH service and facility. Highly recommend. OH, and the slip fee INCLUDED the power and a free pump-out. You can't ask for more, folks.

The docks are solid concrete. The staff are superb, very nice and helpful. Marina office is a house, so the bathrooms are standard full bathrooms. There are courtesy bicycles so we can bike around historic district St Marys in style.
Dates: July 13 - 14, 2024 LOA: 48' Beam: 15' Draft: 3'4" Our stop here was unplanned but very needed. The owner was very responsive and answered the phone even though (we later learned) he was on vacation. After our call to confirm a spot, he sent us texts with details for our stay and a picture showing where to tie up. We pulled up late evening after they closed for the day. Plenty of depth on approach and at the marina. There was a strong current but we were able to get our lines hooked to pull us towards the dock. We had a little trouble with 50AMP service over night, but it turned out to be we got unlucky and picked a bad pedestal. The owner and dock hands addressed the issue the very next morning and got us taken care of. The response was incredible and all employees at this marina are incredibly friendly and helpful. This is a brand new floating dock, and the city has plans to extend and add more. The power pedestals were all new and they had good sized cleats on the docs. The dock office is a house, and they have a full sized bathroom available for showers. They also have golf carts available to rent and take into the town during operating hours. We only stayed overnight, but will stop here the next time we're in the area.
We just moved to Fernandina Beach and this was our first trip to St. Marys. Great day, we saw dolphins on the entry to the intercostal. The store and ice cream were great and so close. Next time we'll try the restaurants.
Edit: originally gave 1 star after no sleep but I have faith these guys will fix the post. We tested a third post (post 3) and couldn't get it to trip. Unlucky for us. On the other hand, this is a really nice stop on the ICW and I want to see them succeed. Good folks work here. Really nice dock and quiet night. Great location. We got zero sleep because it's a hot summer evening and their post couldn't handle even one AC running without popping. Tried other post, same thing. This dock is probably not wired with an appropriate breaker for their 50A service. Lasts a while. Pulling Only 1kw on one leg. 3kw on the other. Well under the 50amp service and capacity. Couldn't cook, pop. One AC for a bit... Pop. Doubt they will fix it so if you're 50 amp service, go elsewhere. Which is unfortunate because this is a really nice newer looking dock We are moving up the coast and use our service every night. This is the first and only dock we've had trip. It lasts for a little bit but kept popping all night. Requires a trip to reset so you don't get any sleep. Tried only one AC but still eventually pops. The whole point of us coming this far off the path was for the power. Oh well. Waste of money
Great stop over for a week at St Marys' very friendly and helpful staff, thanks Colin for your efforts in looking after us.
This marina is awesome! The dockmaster Colin absolutely went the extra mile before and during our stay. The floating docks are in like new condition with easy access. Plenty of room for our 48ft catamaran. The town is charming and walkable. Do yourself a favor and try this little gem. We are so glad we did and will definitely be back.
We have decided that the overnight trip to St Mary's is one of the local hidden treasures - the customer service, southern hospitality at "Locals" - which is a dog friendly restaurant and the ice cream down the street all make the overnight stay one of the best. My favorite part is the sunrise in the morning with my coffee on the boat!
Small town. Easy walking. The marina offers a golf cart rental! Very useful for the resupply trips.
Colin, the Dockmaster, did an excellent job of keeping in touch prior to our arrival on June 5th. He texted a satellite view of the marina with a highlighted area showing our dock space which would favor a starboard tie which we requested. The concrete floating docks and power pedestals are new and in excellent condition. Colin’s wife even baked fresh banana bread for all the boats staying there. We were even treated to a quick guided tour of St Mary’s from one of the staf in his golf cart. Water pressure and dockside Pumpout were great. We did not use the laundry, bathroom or shower facilities which were located in a small home up the hill so I can’t comment on that. Great little town with a beautiful waterfront park. We will be back.
Great staff, took us on a GC tour of the town & quick stop at convenience store. Old town easy to walk, 2 museums and several restaurants/ bars including w entertainment.
Collin the Dockmaster and David the Dockhand were very welcoming and helpful. The floating docks are new and the area is cute too. David took us on a tour of historic St. Marys in the golf cart and helped us find some repair parts too. They have bikes that you can borrow and we were welcomed with fresh banana bread when we arrived! Thank you!
From our initial reservation, St Mary’s Intracoastal Marina and their dockmaster Colin went over and above to make our stay awesome. Colin confirmed our arrival time and was waiting on the dock to handle lines and check us in. He then gave us a short golf cart tour of historic downtown, making recommendations on places to stop. The “dock house” is a home across from the docks with captains lounge, free coffee, outdoor porch and indoor captains lounge, bicycles for your use, free washer and dryer, restrooms with showers, etc. warm and inviting this marina marks southern hospitality.
Great friendly and competent crew
Dock hands were very helpful and provided a lot of good information about the town. Floating docks are great!
Great stay. Easy to get in and out of. Have recommended to friends and will continue to do so. Floating docks were in great shape. Dock master gave us a map to the city and drove us around on cart to see what was there. Would help if there were instructions on how to find Marina office where the lounge, showers, and laundry is. Free laundry was a great plus.
I was excellent. Colin and Dave are super nice, accommodating and full of local knowledge We love this area, so laid-back, a very nice place to sit a spell and just enjoy.
Great visit. The dock master, Colon Redy was very helpful. The docks were in great shape.
Easy to get to. Brand new floating docks. Pump out, water, power included. 10% discount for several associations. Dockmaster Colin very accommodating and good with communication.
We loved our stay at St. Mary’s. Colin was waiting on the dock when we arrived and was super helpful in getting us tied up in a very strong wind. He gave us some of his wife’s delicious banana bread and provided all the information we needed about the charming town of St. Mary’s. There are several restaurants within a short walk. Colin offered a golf cart tour and there are bikes for guest use, but we did not have time to take advantage. The marina is only 3 miles off the Intracoastal and was a great stop after spending the day on Cumberland Island. We will definitely visit again!
Great little Marina with numerous transient spaces on floating face docs which are new since October 2023. Very friendly staff. Pump out at every space, power, and water available. No fuel or gas. The Marina plans to expand in the near future but is quite a nice stop for now. We came in and Planned to Anchor, but they hailed us and asked if we needed space on the dock. Our answer was yes and I’m glad we did.
Very friendly and helpful; new floating docks; pump out at dock; laundry a short walk; pump out and laundry and power included in dockage rate. Colin the dockmaster gave us a golf cart tour of town when we arrived.
Very very nice. Small but beautiful. Dockmaster was awesome!
Friendly staff, friendly town and a wonderful brand new marina facility that has plans for expansion. It is more than worth the 3 mile diversion up the St. Mary’s river to get here
Wonderful and friendly community, very quiet and relaxing. Almost seems like you have gone back in time. Marina staff is excellent and very helpful! Docks are new concrete floating docks. Only issue we had was pump out, some damage to the system made it a slow process, but the staff patiently accommodated this event and we got the job done. A must stop along the voyage!
Great location to catch the ferry to Cumberland Island, two blocks away. Very nice new docks, very well maintained. Long walk to the bath/shower/lounge facilities. "Locals Dockside" restaurant was within walking distance and very good, freshest shrimp I've ever had and a very nice ice cream shop near by for dessert. The marina is not at all protected from Southern and Easterly winds, which were very strong during our stay, but the inside of the dock provided pretty good protection. One item that caused a little concern during our stay, we were on the end of the dock and decided to put out an extra safety line from our outer stern cleat to a cleat across the dock, the wind was gusting as high as 30mph pushing us off the dock. Twice we returned to the boat to find that line untied and laying on the dock. We think it was untied because another boat was arriving and being placed on that side of the dock. The cleats are large enough to hold two lines without a problem, which is ultimately what we did with the approval of the boat which arrived, still a little disconcerting to find a line untied and laying on the dock with no explanation.
All good. Thanks, Colin!
Colin the dock master is fantastic. Lots of communication prior to our arrival. Ready at the dock to help us in during difficult conditions (wind from the west and tight slip). The house used by the marina is about a block away but clean with nice amenities. Would certainly stay here again.
Charming town, attentive dock crew, great location. New floating docks.
After five months on the water, Saint Marys is by far one of the best. Convenient, clean & extremely welcoming! Their golf cart tour & banana bread are just two examples of how they go over & above! Highly recommend! Currents can be a challenge in high winds, but Colin & his staff are right there to help! Thank you Colin! Hope to visit again!
Our stay here was fantastic! It was our favorite stop so far. Dockmaster Colin is professional and gracious. He was on the dock to help us in on a very windy day and he and his staff went over and above to assist with anything we needed. Power, electric and laundry are all included in the daily rate. We will definitely return if we are in the area again.
The personal attention and service was excellent.
Can’t say enough good things about this marina. So glad we stopped. New floating concrete docks. Very clean. Colin and David could not have been nicer or more helpful. David even gave us a personal golf cart tour of the town complete with history and great places to eat. Charming town. Everything is walkable. Free bikes, laundry, pump out. Ferry to Cumberland Island is 100 yards away. Great day trip!
Our new favorite small town marine we were greeted with a golf cart tour of the town. Colin and staff were very accommodating and made our stay very enjoyable. Offered to take us to the grocery store. Upon our departure sent us off with homemade banana bread and a picture of our boat departing. 1st class service. We will definitely return.
We just had the most pleasant stay at the St. Marys marina! If you would like a quiet and private feel in a small town then this is the place for you. Great places to eat (Greek, pizza, seafood) within just a minute or two of walking. The staff is amazing and will go out of their way to help make your stay a good one. I look forward to staying here again over the years as this marina grows. Word of advice…account for the current in your plans for docking. We saw several folks have challenging (and costly) docking experiences because they didn’t take the current into account. The marina staff is very aware of this and will give clear instructions on your approach. I hope you enjoy your stay with St Marys as much as we did!
St Mary’s Intracoastal Gateway Marina was great. Friendly and helpful staff, nice location with a short walk to restaurants and lodging. Great experience!
We had always wanted an easy marina stop at St Mary’s because we anchor regularly at Cumberland Island. While planing this seasons Cumberland stop we were surprised when we saw this new listing. We booked a stay and were very pleased. The staff was very helpful and attentive to our needs. Current IS a consideration, which the staff was helpful in advising us when best to arrive. This will be a repeat stop for us.
David and Collin were absolutely amazing from the second we stepped onto the dock. They are the friendliest dockmen and offered us rides around town for leisure as well as errands. The house, bathrooms, and dock were always spotless and we had 24-hour access to a washer/dryer and anything else we needed in the house. Also, Leanna delivered our packages and mail directly to our boat each day. We made some great friends and we will definitely be back to St. Marys!
Very nice folks, close walk to town, free laundry (one washer/one dryer). Only downsides were a strong current that made docking a challenge and built up sea foam and reeds on the side of our boat (also it could be a little noisy at night with the strong current slapping the hull as well). Overall though it’s a good stopping point near a nice little town.
We had a great stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Colin even provided a provisioning ride to the grocery store and help getting bags back to the boat. A wash down hose at the slip was a pleasant as was the at slip pump out. We were docked cross current so some care required getting on and off. The staff was helpful in both cases. Looking forward to the additional planned improvements to the facilities.
This marina is a gem. The staff are friendly and very helpful. It is located a very short walk from St. Mary’s city with good restaurants and shops. It is quiet and perfect.
Great spot to stop heading north or south while transiting the eastern seaboard, Beat the line at Fernandina docks. Quiet, charming with a crew house. Plenty of deep water just be mindful of the last green on port coming into town. 74’ 6.5 draft no problem. Could use some dock carts other than that was very nice. Cumberland island close by, I will return with bigger vessels and look forward to this area again.
Very nice staff. I am looking forward to their upgraded shower and restrooms.
Great new docks, friendly and helpful staff. Electric and pump out included in the rate
Nice little town. Very friendly. New marina. Great docks with pump out at your dock. David was very helpful in helping us safely dock in a strong current. Will consider arriving at slack tide in future. We plan to return.
St. Mary’s is a wonderful town. The docks are excellent and Colin and David couldn’t have been nicer. Thanks for a great stay.
We spent close to two weeks here and it was wonderful. There's not currently a lot of dock space, but they are planning to expand in the coming years. Marina facilities are in a house a short walk away, but they are planning to upgrade that as well. The dock master, Colin, is super helpful and a joy to chat with and the dock hands are also very friendly and helpful. The old part of the town of St Marys is just a couple of blocks away where there are several bars and restaurants, a beautiful waterfront with ferry service to the Cumberland Island National Seashore, two interesting museums including a submarine museum, many little shops and a wonderful bookstore, and a fascinating history, which you can learn about at the history walk park right beside an intriguing cemetery. During our stay there were several community events including a ghost walk as part of the Halloween festivities. The ghost walk featured local residents in full costume acting as historical figures from the town's past doing a great job of explaining tidbits of the history in an entertaining and almost spooky fashion. We departed well before Thanksgiving but understand that the community celebrates then with equal enthusiasm and caters to boaters to some degree. I highly recommend stopping in here whether you're traveling by boat or not.
Small and quiet atmosphere with plenty of dining choices within walking distance. Very helpful staff.
A wonderful stay at their sturdy, new floating docks. Their dock staff was great, insisted on driving us to the grocery store & wouldn’t even accept a tip. Will definitely be back!
