This place has a low key vibe and top noch construction. Colin, the manager, exceeds his duties by making sure that your every wish is accommodated. The city on the other hand is perplexing. Beautiful downtown area a few blocks away screams to be a tourists delight yet the historic cart tours and the tourist office itself are both closed on Sunday so unless you are retired, your options are limited. One local corner store had a hand written sign on the entrance listing their rules and threatening prosecution for anyone who misbehaved. Not the friendliest of welcomes. The Gateway Marina, the Kraken coffee company and the Firefly taco cantina salvaged what may have been an otherwise disappointing visit . Nearby Fernandina is much more tourist friendly.
