This is the best spot to dock the boat if you want to explore St. Louis (which is worth exploring!) They also were offering a buy 3 nights get 3 free, which was a great deal. Great pool, bathroom/showers are clean and accessible, and had a decent ship store. Easy walking to parts of downtown (Old Bakery Beer is a must-stop). Have to rent a car or take an Uber to get to St. Louis (~30 min drive). Check in took a bit longer than expected, as had to do it at the fuel dock and there was only one attendant who was working hard to get the stream of boats coming in fueled up and moving on. Great looper docktails every night.

We shall see! Between covid and other 'things' our hope is that Alton Marina is soon healed of it's too many ails and transformed in a manner more suitable to be managed as a business, in keeping with its city-outsourced management vendor.. as more of a true public servant. Hopeful it's 5 anchor status that's truly closer to a current 3 anchor status.. is revived to its 5 anchor messaging and previous amazingness β€οΈπŸ™βœ¨βœ¨πŸ’«πŸŽ‰πŸŒˆπŸŒˆπŸ€

Very nice marina, helpful staff, cheap fuel, Looper discounts. Excellent breakfast restaurant. Nice town with plenty of food and entertainment choices.

ALTON - A new ban on fishing from docks, rocks and boats inside Alton Marina is angering at least one fisherman who says he has a legal right to drop his lines anywhere in the river. because it is public waterways and was constructed by tax dollars.see story here and please read the negative comments. http://www.thetelegraph.com/articles/marina-55330-fishing-alton.html
