Our harbor and miles of beautiful coastline attract boating enthusiasts from all over the East Coast. Minutes from our visitor docks is an array of family-friendly and fine dining, clubs with live entertainment, unique shopping and boutiques, art and historical exhibits, a Maritime Aquarium, Library with free WiFi, and more!
Come, explore Norwalk!
Stayed one night. Mooring a short dinghy ride to town docks. Jeff, the dockmaster, was helpful guiding us to our mooring. Town was nice and had many options for dinner and drinks.
Good location in nicely protected harbor with many great restaurants.
Mooring was great. You need to dinghy to the town dock. Good communication. South Norwalk was very nice. A short walk over the bridge lots of restaurants to choose from. Moorings have a single 5/8" pennant line. We ran an extra 3/4" line just to be safe as bad weather was forecast. Wish they had more than two moorings.
We stayed a night on the downtown moorings. Moorings are tight, but fit our 44' sailboat. Short dingy ride to town docks, we dedicated dingy tie up area. Go to Copps Island Oysters and enjoy some of the best oysters around.
Great value for $40 a night! Stayed 2 nights midweek in July. Convenient location in the center of the harbor... terrific views of water front homes and marinas; lots of boat traffic- both pleasure craft and oyster boats. No facilities to really speak of (like showers or bathrooms) but there is a free dinghy dock at the Norwalk visitor docks and a short walk into town for lots of restaurants, West Marine, Rex Ship Store and the SoNo Collection (nice mall). Another review mentioned the mooring pendent attached to the ball with a knotted rope... we used our own shackle/mooring lines for safety. Communication was good once our reservation was confirmed through Dockwa messages and email. (However, we did not get responses prior to this with questions emailed / voice mailed to contacts listed on website). Would recommend and definitely would stay again.
Perfect first time overnight on a mooring ball. Nice and calm once you make it past the evening rush back to the marinas. Had a nice sunset on one side of the boat followed by a beautiful sunrise the next day on the other. 15 minute dingy ride to restaurants. Will definitely return!
Good mooring, easy to town n our own dinghy. Water full of life which will attach to anything one leaves overboard. Town is busy and fun, nice selection of restaurants. Oyster men, pleasure craft and crew boats will all pass.
Everyone in Norwalk was helpful and accommodating and the mooring was easy to find. My only concern was that he mooring pendant is attached to the mooring ball with a knot, rather than with a spliced thimble - worried what what would happen in bad weather. Ultimately, all was good, though.
Super responsive and a great, safe location up the Norwalk River, close to town and lots of services. These are new moorings and should be added to your list of places to visit along the CT coastline as South Norwalk has a great entertainment district just feet from the dinghy dock. Whether visiting for a getaway or just passing through, Norwalk Moorings is a great addition to the options in this region. Thanks to the Harbormaster and the team at Veterans Park docks.
A very nice town with lots of great ethnic restaurants, things to do, and convenient train service. Unfortunately there are only two mooring balls and they’re too close together. Our 41’ cat was practically touching the mooring ball behind us. We’ll be back, especially if they upgrade the mooring balls.
the mooring was easy to find and had plenty of room between boats. we used it to go to the norwalk boar show much better than putting out an anchor also jeff was easy to work with
Good location. Good access to downtown and shoreside attractions
Really enjoyed our stay in Norwalk.
Great location and super nice staff. Just a bit tight for a 50ft boat
Harbor master was professional and helpful. Would stay here next visit
