Turner Marine is now open and operating as normal. HOWEVER we are behind on current work orders do the closing and crew shortage. Currently we have limited open wet slips and no dry slips/storage is available at this time.
TURNER MARINE is a third generation family owned and operated marina for almost 60 years. We are located at the mouth of Dog River and Mobile Bay. Once under the 72' Dog River Bridge, we are the FIRST basin on your starboard side. Turner Marine has been located on this 12 acres since 1974. We are a full service yard with 125 plus wet slips and dry storage. We are experienced in repair and maintenance of all types of sailboats and power boats. We have a 25 Ton and a 50 Ton travelift with an inside clearance of 22' for hauling out larger vessels. We are proud to say that for the past 5 years we have been the America's Great Loop Cruisers Association Members choice for mast shipments, storing and stepping.
We are also very proud of our brokerage department and the team of brokers we have. Turner Marine has 4 brokers that spread across the Gulf Coast that are experienced in all your boat selling or buying needs. We are licensed in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida and Louisiana. We invite you to look at all our listings.
If you like lying incompetent douchebags who work at a snail's pace, then this is the place for you. While motorsailing from Florida to Texas, a belt snapped on our engine and we got towed here. We thought they'd fix us up and be back n the water in a few hours. Four weeks and several thousand dollars later, we are still waiting for them to figure out how to fix the damage they caused to our boat. Two weeks ago they said they had done a sea trail and everything was perfect on the engine. We showed up 24 hours later and discovered they could not have done a sea trial because the batteries were dead, the impeller was air-locked and a hose was spraying water all over the engine. We had to fix those things. It took us hours of work before the engine would even start. Then when we finally got it started, the engine overheated. The boat didn't have any of those problems before they messed with it. They wouldn't help at all. They blew us off to go fishing, promising "We'll make it right tomorrow." That was 10 days ago and now I don't know how to get my boat away from these jerks. Can I call the cops? If they are willing to be such useless scumbags to us, you have to assume that's their business plan. The marina is pretty sketchy too.
Our 39' Cutter Nereus has been moored at Turner Marine for almost two years. During that time, the Turners and their crew of professionals and staff had done everything to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Their work is done within budget estimates and they stand by their warranty work. I recommend this Marina to any serious cruiser looking for a short or long-term stay in a secure, safe marina.
