Docking in Fishers Island is bit like New York's equivalent of Cuttyhunk, MA. A lovely quiet little cove that exudes the charm that extends from here thru Maine. The Dockmaster knows his stuff, helping us arrive & tie up the boat with excellent professionalism, including warning us on the radio on approach that a particular post should be treated as a green channel marker in order to avoid a hazard. We happened to stay there on a Tuesday, which is the one day in the week where the main (and well-loved) nearby restaurant & bar is closed. Fortunately we'd had a big lunch and had good nibbles on-board. If you don't, there's a nearby market with good looking paninis & other deli treats you can sang as long as you get there before it closes. All in all, it was one of the highlights of our cruise week. Highly recommended.
