Report Review

This place was found by just a Dockwa search... We were looking for someplace to hunker down after a run up the NJ coast from Barnegat Inlet before some wind kicked up a bit. Miramar YC could not accommodate our 45' length at their dock but a space was available in their mooring field. Reservation communication was quick and they provided approach guidance to enter the channel into the area. While we have a dingy with us we used their on-call launch to reach shore. The area is walkable with many restaurant options from $ to $$$$ of varying ethnicities. We even walked the 2.5 mi. to Coney Island, albeit most of the walk was along the beachfront boardwalk. From the mooring you could just see the Friday night fireworks from Coney Island over the treetops. We had never visited Brooklyn before on previous trips to NYC, but the people and our experience here made it feel like a place we would consider living in (if we were city-people). Our main point of contact at MYC was Vice Commodore Victoria Tron. The club is member/volunteer run so don't expect a gaggle of paid staff running around to cater to your every need. With that said, Victoria and the other members were VERY helpful, welcoming, and eager to make sure we had everything we needed! This is a place we would definitely stay at again and a YC we would love to be associated with!
