Gananoque Municipal Marina

We used Gananoque as our port of entry and things went well. We decided to spend the evening to explore the town. The first slip was a bit small, but the staff readily agreed to move us. No laundry on site. We did not use the restroom facilities so I cannot speak to that. Pump out available if needed. The only concern I had were the minx. Apparently there is a minx problem in the marina and the minx have been found in boats and such. Had a neighboring boat not told us, I would not have known. Because we were warned, we knew to protect / cover potential points of entry and had no problems. I wish the marina had shared instead of learning about this second hand. Will stay again if back in the area.

We had a black water pump out here. The dock staff are friendly. Issue: they dont have fuel and they don’t take vessels over 55 feet despite having dock space for it which is bizarre. There is a little bit of “municipality brain” running this facility which is showing its age and disrepair. Time to privatize or change management. It’s an important facility in the region on the Canadian side so it really does need to be better run.

Close to Restaurants, Grocery, Hardware stores etc

Stopped in for fuel and a pump out. BIG SURPRISE. No fuel and pump out broken down (again) apparently. Not very professional.

Very Limited transient capacity and nothing over 65 feet. Great town. Looks like a nice Marina but slips are very scarce.
