Mattapoisett is an easily accessible harbor with beautiful views of Ned’s Point Lighthouse and Buzzards Bay. Rich in whaling history dating back to the 1700’s, Mattapoisett has always been a popular boating destination. Our proximity makes us the perfect stop for transient boaters traveling up and down the coast, with Cape Cod and the islands right across the bay.
Boaters coming into the harbor will find a full variety of amenities with 5 easily accessible wharfs and a short term transient dinghy dock for visitors. Right next to the town wharf sits Shipyard Park and Munro Preserve. These areas are popular spots for the town’s summer events and have picnic tables and benches available. Munro Preserve is a popular area to walk your dog or have a harbor side picnic. Nearby provisions make it easy to restock your boat while visiting. The Ice Cream Slip is directly on the town wharf and offers ice with a variety of food items, including your morning coffee. The Town Wharf General Store located just up the hill has plenty of restocking items and local gifts. Across the street you will find The Inn at Shipyard Park, this is a popular restaurant where you can listen to live entertainment while enjoying the view of the harbor.
From the town wharf, you can easily walk to Mattapoisett Town Beach, which has a sandy shoreline and calm waters where kids and families can investigate the harbor’s edge and relax for a beach day.
The Town offers a pump out station at the long wharf as well as a new pump out boat. Contact the Harbormaster on VHF Ch.9 or Call: 508-758-4191 for more information. A launch service is available from the Barstow Wharf at the Town Beach from May to October, Hail Launch on VHF Ch.68 or Call: 508-758-4791.
Solid well maintained moorings. Sara at Triad very responsive and helpful
They have turned the simple experience of reserving a mooring into an art. When we made out request we noted the size of our boat and our concern about the predicted wether. Sara at Triad responded with a selection of moorings in the harbor we could choose from. For each she provided details of the ground tackle on the mooring and the exact lat/lon to help finding it. After reviewing the options we went with her suggested mooring and had a comfortable and confident night. We will definitely be back.
Convenient stop while enroute, all information provided beforehand. Good night's sleep on a secure mooring.
Great, robust mooring, and super-responsive and helpful staff. Will return.
Loved the communication from Triad including emailing the mooring number prior to our arrival. No launch service but you get what you intended to.
Helpful staff and a peaceful night on the mooring ball. Would definitely stay here again.
I reserved a mooring in Mattapoiset and contacted Triad Boatworks. They contacted me immediately and assigned me a mooring for the next day. I had to reschedule since weather was not good. It was no problem. Folks at Triad gave us info on town, as well as info on where mooring was. They were extremely helpful. We loved Mattapoiset and everyone we met was so friendly. We will return to this nice harbor again. Eat at The Inn at Shipyard Park, very good. Also harbor is big and moorings are spread out, not tight at all.
They were very helpful and sending maps of the area, pictures of the mooring field and a picture of their bouys. The pictures of the bouys iwere very helpful. My Thai up to the mooring Bouy Make sure you have a line available.
Good tackle in outer part of Harbor. Some wakes from smaller boats tubing. Settled down in the evening. Not much to do in town.
We stayed on one of Triad’s moorings for about a week in August 2019. They were super flexible about our changing plans and one of the most communicative places we’ve stayed - as soon as we reserved through Dockwa they got in touch and emailed us details about the harbor and the mooring, including not just the mooring number but also exact gps coordinates and a photo of it (surprisingly helpful for finding it in the dark by spotlight). The mooring itself was strong and well maintained. Their section of the mooring field is far enough south that it’s well sheltered from the prevailing south west winds; we were there for a good blow and it was quite comfortable.
Great Boatyard and harbor to visit! The moorings are easy to locate and very secure. Mattapoisett has many offerings right when you tie your dinghy up. Highly recommended for service and repair. We have been customers of Triad for years and would not have it any other way!
