November already! We still have some good weather left plus some good fishing. Mackerel are still around and the flounder are starting to bunch up around the pass along with some big redfish. With the comfortable weather still here, it's a perfect time to get in some boating. If you're coming down to stay on the boat for a day or two there are plenty of events lined up for November to give you something to do.
Saturday, November 26 is the 25th annual Boat Parade of Lights. This is a fun event for both participants and spectators. The boats circle up in front of SABYC and proceed west past City Marina where the judging takes place and then on to St Andrews where dockage can be arranged for the after parties. We encourage you to consider decorating your boat and join the fun. Last year we had about 20 boats and a big crowd on both marinas. Applications can be had at either marina and much more information including a recap of last year's results at Each entry gets a free tee shirt and all you can eat breakfast at the Sunday morning awards party. The Tee Shirts are awesome this year. Check 'em out at the St Andrews website.
A couple of other things to be aware of are the time change coming up November 6 and the store hours for Thanksgiving. The marina office will be closed for Thanksgiving Thursday & Friday, reopening at 7 AM on Saturday. St Andrews will close at noon Wednesday and reopen at noon on Friday.
We have a number of slips open at this time. If you know people looking for dockage, we would appreciate any business you send our way.
