We’ve been coming to the marina and restaurant for a number of years and there is not a single place on our travels that exceeds the customer service, amenities, spectacular views and the wonderful restaurant food. The only “downside” (and there is nothing the marina can do about it) is that the marina is a bit exposed from the south and there are some wake issues as inconsiderate boaters speed into the harbor trying to get an available dock spot for lunch. Still, the “show” from the back deck of our trawler on the mooring field was great and provided several hours a day of entertainment. The entire staff was professional, helpful and were obviously glad to have us there. These guys know how to do it right! And yes, the fish chowder is the best in the universe!
Easy booking. We were assigned an inner harbor mooring which is very close to all the waterfront activities. A bit rolly with S/SE swells but settled down after dark. Launch service was great and the launch captain was actually pretty funny. Except for the swell issues this was a great place to spent a night. BTW, if the wind is more from the E-NE-N-NW, I suspect it would have been totally calm.
Well maintained moorings, great Harbormaster very nice town. Only thing lacking is there are too few mooring balls! Otherwise very happy and look forward to more visits.
Wonderful facility that has only gotten better in the last year. New(er) docks, brand new Office, bathrooms, cruisers lounge, etc. Nice loaner van to provision. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The new slips are nice and wide with long fingers which makes docking much easier. And then you have the town just 15 min walk away! Doesn’t get much better than Homer Smith!!
We stayed here for the month of Feb 2020 and loved it. Very nice, knowledgable staff. Newer floating docks with good, stable power. Great dog park close by, 2 pools and 3 bars/restaurants on site. More great places to eat within walking distance. Unless you are in one of the most western docks, it can get a bit (and just a bit) rolly at the docks when wind/current are strong, but not at all uncomfortable. My only negative for the marina is the terrible internet. Even though we were just 50’ from a WiFi transmitter, we rarely had enough bandwidth to stream live television and occasionally lost service all together. For a marina/resort that is pretty pricy (but no more so than other area locations), you would think that having really good internet coverage would be high on their list, but although they expressed regret at their poor coverage, nothing was done the entire time we were there. OK, off my soapbox. Other than the internet, we totally enjoyed ourselves here and plan to return for 2 months in 2021! Hopefully the internet will work then!
