These mooring balls have plenty of swing room for our 54’ boat - not sure how many they have for our size boat. The ball has 2 mooring eyes which make the process of hooking up to it simpler than just the 1 eye set-ups. The fee includes the water taxi so we like to take that into the cute town. The ferry boats run often, but we did not experience any wake from them. Winds were light when we were there so we had a very calm night.
Great facilities. Reasonable diesel prices with discounts for BoatUS and larger quantities. We had a generator issue and a local mechanic was able to come over within a day! Great dining at Ketch 22. Everyone on the dock staff was friendly and professional. We enjoy walking around the very large and attractively landscaped property.
Love the location and the proximity to Beaufort’s shops and restaurants. At 54’ we are on the T head at the fuel dock (maybe all transients are there?). We don’t rock much, but for the smaller boats, it can get rough during the day with boats passing on the ICW and approaching the fuel dock. Use plenty of fenders. After the fuel pump closes and sunset draws nears it quiets down a lot unless there is wind.
Lots of quality help with lines when we came in and since we had called ahead they had the mobile pump out ready. WiFi was good, we used the pool and the bikes. There was a long wait at the restaurant so we did not go there, but it must be good! Everyone was friendly. One day, we will stay multiple days and turn it into its own vacation.
Well protected fixed dock with lots of fenders. Small, friendly and willing to help with anything. Not 5 star fancy, but 5 star welcoming and comfortable. Free laundry, great for dog walking, walking distance to restaurants.
