It is always a pleasure to stop in this marina

We stop here twice a year as we change for seasons and just love this place. Very professional staff and marina is well kept. It is one of the prettiest marinas we have ever stayed at.

Excellent marina with great staff and even better customer service! The staff helped us fuel, pump out, and then get to our t-head for the night. Clean showers and really nice laundry facilities. A perfect transient stay on our way south!

We had a fabulous 2-night stay at Herrington South. We kept our boat at Herrington for 17 years, and we always love coming back. The marina grounds are beautifully maintained, the staff if fabulous, and the restaurant is lovely. I think HH remains the best marina on the Bay.

What’s not to LOVE?!? It’s the best of everything! Gorgeous grounds, pool, beach, with extra amenities including pickleball courts, free kayaks and paddle boards. Ketch 22 offers delicious menus and a general store across the street has breakfast, lunch, booze and ice cream 😊 you can’t go wrong! Plus, the nice lady upstairs gave us a couple stamps when we were in need. So nice! We’ll be back ❤️

Great place, excellent dock hands and support, beautiful facilities. Slight downside, we were on an older, all wood fixed dock which was ok but a big contrast in ease of use to new floating docks in other marinas.

Great marina with all the amenities. Narrow entry way - but plenty of water - even up close to rock barrier. Friendly staff and they add your discounts up. So a retired military, boat US and over 100 gal got us .30 off each gallon - impressive!!

Update August 17, 2024 Temporary problem due to dredging of the channel. It is very LOUD if you are on A dock as we were or on the beach pier as our friends were. We all wish we had been warned about the noise. Our boat was actually vibrating all day from the dredger which runs from 7 AM to 6 PM. It was awful. We actually had to move slips on our second day to D dock which was quiet. This is still one of our very favorite marinas and we stay here 3-4 times a year but will not be back till the dredging is done which I am told could be another 4 weeks. Otherwise, the marina was fantastic with beautiful landscaping, eco-trail to walk our dogs, pool with morning water aerobics, sparkling clean bath houses, friendly staff and our favorite Chesapeake Deli across the street.

Everything about this marina is top notch. They were very accommodating to find me a new slip, once it was determined I had an issue with my electric service. Please note they are upgrading their electircal pannels to include new GFI breakers. This may cause some issue with older boats.

We've stayed at HHS many times. As always the facility is wonderful, beautifully landscaped, well-kept up. Bathhouses are clean, docks in excellent condition. The dockmaster did an excellent job getting our boat docked, and was very friendly and helpful. Ketch 22 is very good and deli across the street is also great for sandwiches and as a general source for restocking food and drink.

Beautiful huge marina and the area was so nice and quaint... very impressed with the facility and staff. Only stayed one night but will definately be back. Ketch 22 was awesome. Just an amazing oasis.

Our family had the best time at Herrington Harbour South and will be back soon. The staff has been wonderful. Kids enjoyed the large pool (food & service from Ketch 22 was great at the pool) and they also liked all the water sports available at the beach. The movie on the beach was cool Saturday night. Thanks for making this such an enjoyable trip and see you soon. Dave

An awesome marina!!! Very friendly staff. We always love coming here! Tried Ketch 22 again and unfortunately I was somewhat disappointed again. Food was not the best. Great pool and nice atmosphere.

Great location, easy to get into it from bay, very nice large, clean pool with lifeguards, nice sandy beach on the bay, decent bar/restaurant that is quite busy (need reservations in advance). Only complaint is that the fresh water spigots for transient slips don't have hoses!

Great spot for an overnight on the boat. They have it all. Pool, beach, restaurant, clean facilities and great dockhands. We’ll be back.

Another great visit at the marina, although this time we were at the transient dock at the entrance/exit channel. It can get a bit rocky at this location when strong wind was blowing NNE. The staff were always friendly and accommodating. HHS is one of our go to marinas.

This Marina has been the best in our book! We are 6000 miles into our loop, so we have been in a few! Staff is friendly and helpful, marina is very well taken care of, landscaping and amenities the top! We will be back!

Amazing! Super helpful dock hands, great playground for kids, good space for dogs, and a good restaurant!

We arrived after hours but had a dock assignment and had no trouble finding our way. Docks are fixed but have large posts that are easy to tie. Power outlets had both 30 and50 amp. Outlets were in good repair and voltage was good. The restaurant, Ketch22 was outstanding and reasonably priced. Definitely on our list for return trip.

Amazing resort marina in Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay. Great restaurant and Deli on-site and numerous excellent restaurants a short distance away. Also on-site is an Inn and Sandy beach. The monthly slip holder parties (Food, wine and beer) and themed (4th July, Pirate etc) parties are outstanding! The entire staff is like family!

Same as always - spectacular and our best weekend on the boat this summer. Herrington Harbor South is the most scenic resort on the Chesapeake Bay and is only rivaled by Herrington Harbor North.

This marina and resort are the best! The staff are so helpful and friendly; the marina is very well maintained; the resort is beautiful with lovely with well maintained landscaping, a beautiful beach with amenities, a huge swimming pool, a restaurant where everything we had is super delish, live music that was fun. We stayed here on our boat with our small grandchildren (5 and 3) for a week and it was perfect! The beach, pool, playground, walking paths, deli for yummy meals and ice cream cones, etc. were perfect to keep us all entertained! This was not our first time here and it certainly won't be our last! Thank you, Herrington Harbor South, for making all our visits to you super enjoyable!

We were docked on T-head next to fuel pump and it smelled like septic due to pump out boat docked at fuel dock We were told it was going to be emptied so we wouldn’t smell it but that did not happen other then smelling awful trip was nice

Great getaway on the Bay

Friendly and helpful staff, great facilities. Dinner at sunset on the Ketch patio was fantastic!

This is a great Marina and has a resort feel. So nice to take advantage of for a couple days. The outside bar had a couple of bartenders who must have had a bad day, not great when you have young kids in earshot, and then had fun shooting flies off the bar with a salt rifle. Wonder how the people down range felt about that. Once the main bartender came on all calm was restored. We loved the pool, relaxing beach, took advantage of the gym and Ketch 22 restaurant. The check in was professional very friendly. We were met by an experienced dock hand who helped us tie up, get power and water sorted out, and then gave us an overview of the Marina. The check out was very easy. Can’t wait to come back.

Prettiest marina on the 'Peake! 4 knowledgable dockhands to help at fuel dock and to help with lines at the slip. Beautifully landscaped marina. Huge pool with plenty if chairs so we didn't feel smooshed in. Yummy food & good service and nice atmosphere at Ketch 22. Flat walkable paths. Really nice beach area. Just Right will be cruising back here again.

The marina is in great shape. It has everything you would want for that kind of place. There is a good store / deli / restaurant acrossthe street All Good!

Great facility with not only a super large pool, but also a nice beach with paddle boards & Kayaks to use. Easy in and out from Herring Bay. Definitely a go to spot for Chesapeake Bay boaters north of Solomons.

Wonderful facility and wonderful service!

Herrington South is always a favorite for transient visits and they did not disappoint this trip in July. The dock hands are helpful and friendly as are the staff. The grounds are beautiful with gazebos and plenty of grills and picnic areas. The pool is the largest on the bay that I have seen with plenty of seating. Then there is the beach if that is your preference. We did not eat in the restaurant but I was told it was excellent although pricey. You can walk to the bar or wait for staff to get a drink while at the pool. Their bath houses are all individual, clean and roomy and air conditioned. If you want to feel like you are on vacation at the island resort, this is a great choice on the Chesapeake Bay. Great place to visit on your boat!

The dockhand who helped with lines was great. The office staff was friendly. The grounds are worth every penny. Lovely gardens and immaculate bathrooms. This is a very nice marina.

Great location and accessibility. Beautiful grounds and great staff. Fillipe and the young lady with him were pleasant. The young lady was not prepared to help during the docking in terms of managing the lines tossed to her and securing them. In addition, we were placed on a T wherein the boat in front of us had to be moved by staff to barely accomodate our vessel. The boat's owner was PO'd when he returned and he re-tied his boat. Location and facility=5, competent dock staff=3, total=4. The good news is both the above issues can be easily fixed by investing in staff training...this is a management issue. We will be back. Thank you.

Helpful staff, beautiful grounds, and great restaurant. Our only issue was boats frequently creating wake coming in and out of the marina, so the no wake rule didn’t seem to be enforced. Otherwise, a lovely place to visit by boat.

This is a wonderful place to visit! Everything you could ask for in a Resort and Marina. The facilities are well maintained, and the staff is knowledgeable and really friendly and helpful! This is the first marina gas dock person who took the initiative to pump us out, while I was gassing up! Incredible beaches, pool, bar and restaurant! Highly recommended!

Great facilities. Reasonable diesel prices with discounts for BoatUS and larger quantities. We had a generator issue and a local mechanic was able to come over within a day! Great dining at Ketch 22. Everyone on the dock staff was friendly and professional. We enjoy walking around the very large and attractively landscaped property.

We always enjoy staying here. It is secluded, off the beaten path, yet many things are right there. In a residential area overlooking the bay, quite charming. We've been here twice this year making it our base for summer cruising up the Chesapeake bay. Marina has fixed docks so larger fenders are recommended, power pedestals are newer which is nice, and facilities are clean. They have a mobile pump out boat which is a nice convenience. The Harbor is protected and has easy access. Beach area is great and well maintained, Ketch 22 is a fantastic spot for lunch or dinner, deli across the street has everything you may need, overall, phenomenal stay!!

To be fair, this is a pet owner's review. The Marina staff were great and did all that would be expected of them. On arrival, I proceeded to the "Ketch" restarant for lunch. I asked a waitress (should I say server person?) If it would be OK for me to sit at the outdoor bar for lunch with my two dogs (each 20 pounders), the server said it would "no problem". Halfway through my lunch, another server looking person approached me to tell me only "service dogs" were allowed in the restaraunt. I informed her/him that I had been told by a server it would be OK for me to sit at the bar. He/She said I must leave. Had I not been so tired from my boat trip I probably would have made a "scene". Instead, I pushed my have eaten plated to her/him and requested my check. In the over 5000 miles of traveling on my boat this is the 1st time this has happened to me. I AWAYS ASK IF MY DOGS ARE OK

We LOVED this marina! Great docks, power, baths and laundry facilities, all in a gorgeous resort setting. On site restaurant was also great, and complimentary shuttle into nearby town for provisions. We would highly recommend making this a stop over in a wonderful rural area!

Top notch resort style marina. We stayed on the beach dock and it was so lovely. We thought it might not be protected enough but with the breakwater it was fine. We were right on the beach, perfect view and great for letting our chocolate lab off to walk/go potty. They have fireworks after the weddings and we had front row seats! Ketch 22 is a great restaurant and the deli is perfect for breakfast. The Bathhouse was clean, although a little small in the shower. We will be back for sure! Best part was the helpful dock hand Philippe who also gave me a ride to my Open House up the street and picked me up!

The grounds are spectacular. The gardens and landscaping around the entire marina is stunning. It’s a huge marina with 600 slips. The fairways between the docks are narrow, pulling in and out of our assigned slip we had around 5-6 feet more than the length of our boat so it was certainly tense getting in and out. The pool was extremely extremely crowded, in the afternoon there was not a single lounge available. In addition to slip holders and transients they sell pool memberships so it ends up uncomfortably packed with bodies. This was the major drawback. Don’t go expecting a relaxing day at the pool because it isn’t going to happen!

Marina/resort is very nice. Pool is huge and well maintained. The on-site restaurant, Ketch 22 was just so-so. Food average, service quite slow.

Herrington Harbour South is a great marina. My wife and I go there every year for several days. All the employees are a great help and always are very professional.

Thank you for your hospitality. We enjoyed coming back to HHS. One disappointment I’d like to raise, has to do with our request to be placed in the entrance causeway, only to be told you were fully booked. Interestingly enough, there were even fewer boats tied up there this morning, than there were last night upon our arrival. There were numerous vacancies on that dock. Instead, we had to navigate the very close quarters, whilst dodging the fast-approaching storms only to be tucked all the way in at D11. If we had been where we’d requested, this would clearly have been a five-star review, but it seemed much too easy to decline our request. This was confirmed when we had a response to this message this morning, indicating that you were not fully booked, and we should have demanded to speak with someone more senior. To that I suggest you give your employees the power to delight each guest.

Nice greeting, excellent facilities. Beautiful pool, nice beach. Ketch-22 restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. Careful of the Deli across the street for breakfast, as there is a 20-30 minute wait to get your egg and cheese bagel or breakfast burrito. Fuel prices are better than most in the area (certainly better than at Inner Harbor in Baltimore by $1/gallon.

Facilities are great. Staff is helpful and friendly. Restrooms are clean. Shuttle service to North Beach is very convenient.

Herrington South is always a fun visit, love the pool, the Catch 22 restaurant, the dock hands, the docks, and the dock residents who treat us transients like old friends EVERY time we visit!

I waited too long for my food, I didn't get enough help docking my 50 foot boat, boaters are a fickle bunch. I read these reviews and it gives me a good chuckle. Stay at this marina it's really nice, and get the cowboy wrap from the deli across the street.

The boat was very still. It made for good sleeping. Too many speeches prior to the fireworks. The dockhands made a great effort to pump out my boat. Fireworks were fantastic. Could not connect to Wi-Fi for TV tho.

Beautiful facility. Grounds are spectacular. Have stayed previously and things seemed a bit less organized this year. Heavy NW winds made docking more interesting than normal and our first approach was spot on but dock hand was working with another boat. Another dock hand should have been there. Not fun having to deal with second approach. The restaurant was packed and behind. Food took an hour to arrive. Overall very nice stay with beautiful weather.

Oh where to begin, we r a larger sailboat 46 feet. It was a stressful sail with 25 knot winds and choppy surf. We were placed on dock F the fairway was narrow but we managed in 25 k wind to dock on 1st try. Only to experience an hours worth of messing around with the electric. Needless to say they determined it was their issue the breaker kept tripping. It was either stay there or move 2 docks over in 25 knot winds. I wanted to move why spend $200 a night, I could be on anchor for free at that point. The move was awful and that was no one’s fault. Okay so now we are tuck in. We go over to Ketch 22 to grab a drink and a bite to eat. We sat at the outside bar order a bottle of wine and 2 appetizers. 40 minutes later after asking several time about our food and being told the chef was backed up we received our luke warm steak fries and cheese curds. We complained at this point I was over it. The check was tossed to us by a now rude bar tender. The facilities are beautiful, and the pool way too crowed. I would not return. So disappointed.

A great a marina! Great slips, location, showers and restaurant. Even a small store in which you can get provisions. The staff are lovely and made a nice facility that much better. Overall, a great place to stay!

Worst Marina ever. We overpaid for a year and were treated horribly. A stranger walked right onto our slip and trespassed on our boat to post selfies online and security did nothing. Could have been a very dangerous situation for our family. The staff were racist telling me where I could not walk on a path but several white people had just passed before me. The owner did not want to renew our contract and did not want to tell us why because he knew he was discriminating against us and told us we would like a property up north better. Will never go back.

I stayed for a couple of nights to visit relatives on my way south. Had a great stay with the deli and market being a surprisingly great lunch spot. Marina couldn't have been more helpful I left and had a small problem with my engine and got towed back in. Staff provided a list of businesses to get repairs done. They even asked if I needed a ride to a store for food. Great customer service! Facility was clean and very nice. I will most likely stop on my way back north.

Great stay at Herrington harbor south. Had to leave our catamaran there for about a week. They had space and we were very secure. Dock master and dock hands very helpful, boat was in great hands. Facilities excellent. Would definitely stop there again.

Spent two days on October. Exceptional Marina, great location, good food in the restaurant and deli. Top notch bathrooms, clean spacious and lots of hot water. We’ll be back.

Really nice marina! Great amenities. Clean showers. Restaurant and market across the street. We went into North Beach, a cute town just south, and had a great meal. There were lots of highly rated restaurants there. 40 minute drive into Annapolis from here without much traffic even during the boat show.

All HHS staff that we met, Griffin, deckhands, and fuel dock people were very friendly and concerned with making sure all was right for our stay. We had requested tie up at their small floating dock to make debarking and embarking easier for our elderly dog (pun hiding in there). Griffin readily agreed to make it happen, but then repositioned us to B dock because of seagull issues at the floating dock. Proved to be a smart move not only for that reason but because of some expected rough weather. B dock was great! 4 stars because we couldn’t use facilities like the pool which was already closed yet had to pay full price anyway and the restaurant, Ketch 22, while having great ambience had a surprisingly limited menu. Place is landscaped like a beautiful country club.

Very nice marina that specializes in weddings and parties yet keeps the marina quiet at night. Nice restaurant and deli across the street for some supplies.could use dock hands- fuel and restaurants fairly priced

September 20-21,2021: Enjoyable as always. Staff is courteous and accommodating. We will be back and recommend HHS to all our boating friends. We truly appreciate them working with us when we had to cut our stay short due to impending bad weather. July 202: Still one of our favorites to visit. Staff is great. Restrooms are very clean. We love the pool. There is still an issue with hot water in some bathhouses e.g. hot is cold and cold is hot in a few of the showers so be careful. Also, on drain was clogged. Otherwise no issues and we will visit again and again. One of our favorite marinas to visit. Staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. Our only complaint was lack of hot water and water pressure in the bath house.

We love HHS but would have liked having the pool open till the end of month. The staff here is fabulous, the restrooms are clean, and the deli across the street is good.

Have stayed here twice . Very clean and will kept. Will stay again if in the area. Would be a five with better dock hands. Only marina I have ever been to that ask if you want someone to grab limes. Even when you say yes you still may not get help..

Comprehensive resort with lots of amenities. Beautiful landscaping and excellent staff. Bathrooms wre the best I've seen at any marina.

First time staying here. The price is high, I’ll assume due to all the amenities. For such a ‘resort’ marina, surprised the dock piers are not full length. The WiFi was touch and go. Nice areas to walk around, Beach was very nice, swimming pool was large with plenty of room. Staff were helpful. The restaurant, Ketch 22, was disappointing and would not go again.

Love, love, love this place. The pool is very large. Shading has been placed so that we can avoid the sun. The piers are composite so there are no splinters. The grounds are well maintained. The deli across the street is handy. The beach is wonderful. The only suggestion would be to add a little more variety to the menu at Ketch 22. We though there would be a fresh fish of the day.

First time at Herrington. Came by boat. The transient dock was very nice. Griffin assisted in getting us docked. Once here nothing else needed. Pool, resturants, convenience store all in walking distance. The property is magnificent I am glad the owners early on saw the beauty here and enhanced it. I sent photo's to freinds and the thought I was on an island cruise. Could not believe this is in Maryland. Thank you Herrington the stay was wonderful. We will be back. Doug and Chrissy.

Well maintained Marina. Great place to stay a few days.

One of our favorite stops on the bay. Great marina, friendly staff, wonderful amenities, ketch 22 was delicious for both meals and the market across the street a value add!

We love Herrington Harbour South. It’s a great facility with a laid back resort atmosphere. It was the perfect destination for a short, relaxing getaway.

I enjoyed our stay but I had the opportunity to stay at Herrington Harbour North and I really liked the location, all the seating and access to restaurants in the area. The pool was less crowded and they had music every night. South appears to cater more to wedding venues and less to Marina guests.

This place is wonderful. The staff are all friendly and helpful, will do anything to make sure you have a great time. Everything is so clean, the pool and the beach were so nice. We will be back for sure. Thanks to all.

Great Marina Staff and Griffin were very helpful. We used the pool with two young children. Facilities were 100% and clean. Family-friendly. We loved the marina and it was easy to navigate. We made a boat trip to Harrington North one night for dinner. Great staff shuttle great. Our kids made lots of friends.

Herrington south is one of the nicest and cleanest, well organized marina that I have visited. People are friendly and take pride in their jobs. The best marina in the bay.

Friendly, efficient, lots to do, great getaway!

This was our first visit to HHS and we really enjoyed it. The beach, the pool, the pool bar, the restaurant were all fantastic. They responded on the radio right away with clear directions on where to dock and someone was there to help with the lines. It was a very busy summer weekend but it never felt crowded or rushed. Definitely going to return for another visit.

Stellar property and staff! Always a memorable stay at Herrington Harbour South. Entering the channel, the fuel dock staff were extremely helpful with docking. We even got some cups at check in to add to our little collection. Excellent pool and beach, kids loved the paddle boards. Will be returning soon!

We've been enjoying this marina with our family of 5 for years. I have 3 kids 7-13 and we brought a cousin along on this trip. I have never had a negative thing to say about this place until now. It's been a favorite stop of ours, however this year they refused to give resort passes to everyone on our vessel- 6 of us. The office girl even called in the harbor master to see if she could break the 4 pass rule. It was 90 degrees and we were all hot with our pool bag in hand. He eventually sent me to the pool to get pool passes after I walked out of the office in tears. I later learned that pool passes and resort passes are not the same. My teenage daughter was chastised for being at the park at 10:00 at night for carrying the pool pass instead of a resort pass. It was an awful experience and I felt very much discriminated against for having a family bigger than 4 people. Not the same family friendly marina it's been know to be. I'm sad to say we may not be including this marina in our annual family boat vacation next year.

Beautiful and relaxing visit!!

We came in under adverse storm conditions, and the dock hand was adept at tying us to the outer dock. Once the storm passed, we moved to our assigned slip. Everything is still top notch. Ketch-22 is good, and the store across the street has good supplies and sandwiches.

One of our all time favorite places to stay! We absolutely love the marina, the grounds, the beach, the pool and the restaurants. It is a place where you can step away from life and truly unwind. My favorite spot is relaxing at the rocking chairs! Pick the right weekend and you may even catch some fireworks from a wedding! A must stay place!

May stay was super short as I was only transiting through. Came in a little after 5:00 and staff was still here at my slip to help me in. Beautiful marina and really nice amenities. Mini grocery store and cafe across the street is awesome. Would definitely recommend this marina and hope to be back again for a longer stay.

We had a great stay,would come back We ate at 22# food was good (service took a long time) we where there over one hour to eat at 4:30 pm,The waitress had no bus boys to help and etc.

This is a very pretty marina. Its clean and well maintained and the laundry has new, front loading machines with reasonable prices. The grounds are dog friendly with bags provided in numerous locations. The people are friendly and respectful of others. There's also a nice restaurant on site. The major complaint with this marina is the internet, which ranged from abysmal (dial-up speeds) to non-existent for the entire 11 days of our stay. Given the degree to which everyone's life is now conducted online, especially during COVID, this is an egregious shortcoming. The one other complaint we had was that upon arrival at 3 pm there was no one answering the vhf calls. We had to phone the marina office and were put on hold and sat in the narrow channel for several minutes while waiting for the dock assignment. Also be prepared to tie yourself up to the fixed docks.

Best Marina I have stayed at on the Chesapeake. It is an oasis- beautiful grounds, fantastic docks with modern hookups, great pool, restaurant and beach with free amenities. We will be back many times!!

Facilities were great, harbormaster was very helpful. Only negative was that many guests were not maintaining social distance nor masks

This marina is the BEST OF THE BEST! Absolutely stunning grounds, well kept bathrooms, blazing fast internet, amazing pool, amazing restaurant (Ketch 22)..... very knowledgable staff. Also very nice beach with kayaks, paddle boards, etc. I will keep coming back to this marina!!!!!

Harrington Harbour South is a well maintained resort. Lots to do for all people, safe clean environment, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would recommend this marina to fellow boaters.

Always our choice for the end of a long cruise down the bay.....such a pleasant atmosphere to top off a great time......the most well trained dock hands ever...especially Ryan....he knows more about the proper way to tie up than a lot of boaters..... from our slips at the beach pier we got to see part of a wedding....in addition to so many activities.....and a very nice lunch outside.....

We absolutely love this place. We HIGHLY recommend this to anyone traveling in the Bay. We are reluctant to leave but the journey continues. Until the next time...

By far the nicest marina resort I've visited. Went for just a couple days this summer on part of a multi-stop trip. Next time, I think we will stay all week just here! Lots of stuff to see and do, unbelievably maintained grounds, great location for short day trips. Can't wait to come back.

Our 1st time pleasure to visit this resort marina, we enjoyed both the beach & pool areas. On site restuarant Ketch 22 was awesome (compliments to the chef & staff) Marina grounds were impeccable, marina staff was very accommodating & super helpful when we had mechanical issues. My request to the facility would be to add loaner bikes to their “stable” of offerings with the town North Beach a short trip away making a great opportunity for visitors. No doubt we’ll make a return again soon.

Fantastic facility. Very protected and beautiful. Nice pool, great food. We enjoyed the nature walk around the marina and through the marsh to the wedding venues. We look forward to visiting again soon

Haven’t stayed at HHS in over 20 years (no particular reason). Quite impressed with all the improvements in amenities! Food was delicious and drinks were very good! Will definitely put them on my “recommended places to visit “ list.

Great facilities — especially enjoyable during the quiet weekdays,

Docking and registration was flawless! The 6 boats in our group were placed on the transient B dock by the pool. The pool was clear, clean and refreshing in spite of the very hot weather. Pool was way more crowded than we expected with the supposed social distancing!! Staff coming around asking you to leave when they let too many in was not cool. I felt sorry for the staff assigned to do that!! Timed bracelets may be a better idea! Ketch 22 restaurant is awesome. Courtney, our server both nights could not have been more accommodating, she was fantastic. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful! HH South is always a hit!

Awesome marina, I always enjoy the stay.

Place is definitely nice. We came in at a time when about 7 or 8 other boats came in so the dock hands were busy and we had a hard time getting a response on the radio - and then zero help at the dock. It's a little high priced, but it IS a resort after all. It's a long way to get to the amenities.... bring your bike!

Herrington Harbour South is just the best resort marina on the bay. We live going there.

We pulled in after a 10 hour run a little past 1700. They close at 1700 and we were met by Adam and he was very friendly and would not leave until we were securely tied up and had power. Very clean and well maintained marina with either a restaurant (Katch-22) or the deli across the street.

Excellent marina, a true destination. Pool, beach, restaurant, deli, paddle boards, kayaks, small sailboats for rent, boat owners parties, movies on the beach, BBQ grills, great slips and docks, etc etc. A must stay for anyone looking for a relaxing stay

After a long slog upwind, it was a relief to tie up at Herrington Harbour South. Our dockhand was the asst dockmanster and he was cheerful and helpful, and got us off to a great start for our evening. We went for a quick swim on their mini-beach, and made note of the Hobies and Sunfish for rent - for next time. Showers were nice. Dinner was gourmet excellent, which was a nice surprise as the restaurant and bar project a relaxed pub-style atmosphere. That was nice, but we didn't expect first-rate food as well.

Outstanding! Clean, beautifully kept and friendly staff (esp. Aiden!). Lovely pool and facilities and very nice restaurant, it’s conveniently located across from a handy market and deli as well :)

Easy, well marked approach to a nicely maintained marina. Good pool, great beach at the Bed/breakfast. Accommodation for all size boats, w/ water and electricity, wifi. Dock crew seemed unfamiliar with radio protocol, confused about their available accommodations: sent a staff member to the dock to tell instructions to us as we approached- not really helpful over the sound of our engine, and a source of a fair bit of stress to our crew! Staff was very helpful with undocking the next day from a crowded area, however. Nice place: would recommend.

Beautiful marina One of the best maintain marina we have been too. Access to provisions and food options The pool is big . Down side ...too many people,it has the feel being at your city pool. No pool service amd gone is the old pool bar. All in all a very good marina

Wow ....five star marina only because there is not a ten star rating. The property is the Disney of marinas, beautiful landscaping and no signs of the staff working on the property. The new restaurant and outdoor pool bar is 5 star also. The staff was even 10 star this is a must go to place not just once a season but many times. Thank you for such a beautiful property and marina .... and the food was above awesome, you are setting the mark for marinas around the world. Awesome job to the staff whom I watch work their tails off on one of the hottest days ever in Maryland.

We always love Herrington, the grounds are beautiful, Ketch22 has great food and accommodated our large groups over the years. Our only draw back with Herrington over the years is there inconsistency in docking. Typically at checkin they will not accept request, i.e beach pier, bulkhead etc. You are told first come first serve. Then upon arrival with multiple dockages open at these locations it is certainly not first come first saved. Often times told they are reserved. Rules are rules, just be consistent with what you advertise and your actions.

This is one of if not the nicest marina's we have stayed at in the area with very friendly staff. The accommodations and grounds are top notch and of the nicest anywhere. I could not recommend staying here more than that. It is simply a vacation resort atmosphere the should be enjoyed by everyone!

I want to THANK YOU and the entire staff for my stay at Herrington Harbour. We really enjoyed. As you know, we originally planned to only stay for a couple of days, then extended to 1 week and then to 2 weeks. That is a direct reflection of you, your staff and the wonderful experience that we had. Now we are moving our entire boating experience from15+ years on the Potomac to there at Herrington starting 2020

This marina facility may be the best on the Bay. Staff and dock hands are courteous and helpful. Docks are new kept in excellent repair. Grounds are beautifully landscaped and pool is large and well managed. New outdoor bar is the popular place to hang out. Sunsets are best enjoyed on a lounge chair on the little sandy beach. Quality of food service and restrooms are fair, with restrooms undersized for the scale of such a large marina. This is definitely a fun family destination with which few marinas on the Bay can compare.

The best marina I have stayed in. I have boated in the San Juan Islands, the Virgin Islands and all over the Chesapeake Bay. Herrington Harbor South is like the Disney of marinas.

My first visit to Herrington Harbor South will not be my last. Amenities were great, Restaurant was great, everything about the place was fantastic. We went with a group of 4 boats this time and would go again anytime.

Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff. Only complaint was the bathrooms on Thursday morning. My wife had no hot water in the shower; she saw the “hot” identification but still no hot water. My bathroom was wet....everywhere - floor, walls, chair, shelf, like a hose was brought in and sprayed everywhere.

We have stayed at HHS many times over the past few years and always received excellent customer service. The staff is courteous and friendly. This is really the best marina on the Chesapeake Bay. We have just retired and was finally able to make this our home port starting April 1, 2019. Very clean beautiful grounds and beach. Excellent location on the bay for sailors who want great sailing access as soon as you leave the channel.

I got married at Herrington in 2017 and came back on my anniversary with our wife and stayed at the marina for the weekend. The dock staff was extremely helpful and flexible, allowed us to pick the best spot for our catamaran, and allowed easy check out in the morning. The marina is beautiful, the facilities were great, and the restruant was excellent. Highly recommend.

We love Herrington. No complaints except...it seems that the slip reservation and assignment process could be improved by logging in the special requirements of vessels in a computer as "Notes" or something. It's almost always as if you are just showing up and being placed at random as opposed to a reservation made months in advance. Easy fix.

This is a gorgeous marina with lots of potential. Sadly however they aren’t really interested in happy customers. When we called for a reservation, my husband specifically asked for a slip with close access to the pool and restaurant because I have issues that make walking difficult. We also asked for a port side tie. We were told no problem. When we got there we were directed into a slip with a starboard side tie and not all that close as we were promised. Minutes later another boat was directed into a pier closer to the pool with a port side tie. We later spoke to those boaters and they did not ask to be closer. So what was the point of asking? No one seemed concerned, the deckhands shrugging and saying “sorry”. The dock master did give us a whopping 10% discount. Big deal. I would have preferred what we specifically asked for. It truly is a beautiful, clean marina but if you have any special needs or requests I would not recommend.

Beautiful marina . We have a great time there. Some many things to do if you come with kids . The staff was working hard to make you feel welcome.

A great experience, beautiful facility. Breakfast across the street at Chesapeake Market was great. Hop the owners of the bar and restaurant can get open by next year. A real detriment to the experience but they are contractually separate from Herrington Harbor South. Will be back just to enjoy the resort next year!

Place was great, service very good. It would have been helpful to know the office to get a power cord closed at 5P sharp. Fortunately some one let us in and worked our problem out.

Great place. Only negative for me was the mooring assignment. Explained I had a mobility impairment and asked for a side tie, which was accommodated. However, it was the tee head of Echo, a very long walk from everything.

Marina employees were super friendly. Took care of all my dock lines, shore power, and water. As soon as I checked in they provided me a map of the hotel/marina, wifi info, passes to the pool, and keys to the bathroom. Area clean and quite. I am coming back soon!

This is an A+ resort. Great facilities. Numerous clean bathrooms. The restaurant isn't open (and I'm not sure why it takes almost a year to remodel and open a new one) but the old one was great so I suspect the new one will be, too. Beautiful grounds, lots of places to cookout. The Bay's best pool. The only negative was putting our group on the transient pier in the main channel instead of in slips. We got rocked a lot. Last time I visited I had a slip. It's a pricey marina to,pay for to be stuck on the main channel in and out.

Wed really enjoyed our brief stay here. The pool is very nice and the bathrooms are as good as some hotels. The slip holders are some of the friendliest by far. We are looking forward to a return trip next year. Our only complaint is that our dockhand was very inexperienced. He wasn't much help tieing up and tangled up our power cords. Just be prepared to handle business yourself. However, this is by far one of the better marinas we have stayed at. Wish we had came sooner.

Herrington is a beautiful, well-run, constantly changing full-service marina with tons of amenities! We love the Independence Day celebration there and go every year. The fireworks are spectacular!

We really enjoyed our stay! Restaurant and Tiki bar were closed down but they accommodated by having runners at the pool so that you could order food and drinks from deli across the street. All staff is very friendly and helpful.
