Check in process was easy. The pool is large, with plenty of tables and chairs, including lounges. The snack bar is handy and serves alcoholic drinks in addition to soft drinks, some sandwiches, etc. and ice cream. The bath houses were clean and well air-conditioned. It is a long walk to the restaurants on the other side of the bridge, but shuttles and bicycles are not available. Since the trail is so close, bicycles would be a welcome addition to the amenities available so we could take advantage of the beautiful scenery. We were very happy to see that the yacht club on site offered free breakfast for all boaters, including transients. This is a wonderful service so there is less food that we need to bring on board. It was also delicious and we appreciated all of the tasty options, including hard-boiled eggs, egg sandwiches, fruit salad and juices, bagels with cream cheese and sweet rolls/donuts. We hope this will continue going forward!!!!!
We have been coming here for over 20 years, and it's one of our favorite locations on the Eastern Shore of the bay. The restrooms are really clean and air-conditioned. We love the floating piers and ambiance of the marina as well. The food at the restaurant and pool grill is very good. The chef specials are amazing. However, the restaurant was closed due to a large wedding reception on Saturday. This limited where we could get meals, and we were not notified of this when our reservations were made online. This is one of the issues we've encountered with the online system, versus speaking to the dockmaster on the phone. These details are important to know. In addition, the town shuttle was not running and none of the local restaurants deliver to the marinas. Thank goodness the Passages Grill was open next door at Haven Harbor Marina, so we had one more option for dinner. Since we come by boat, we don't have a vehicle at our disposal for local transportation. Bikes are available, but the street lighting is poor so walking or biking after dark could be dangerous.
We were pleasantly surprised by all of the updates and improvements we found at this marina. The bath house was gorgeous, with individual rooms containing sink, toilet and shower within each, which were very large! There was plenty of countertop, benches and hooks to hold all of the necessities for cleaning up after a day at the pool and/or boating. There was also a beautiful lounge area with sofa and chairs in the building. along with a large deck outside with tables and chairs. The staff were all very helpful. Jeff and Wes were also flexible when we decided to spend another night. It was very convenient to have bikes available for rental at $2.95 per hour, and we really enjoyed exploring the historical town and local restaurants. The cuisine at each exceeded our expectations as well. We look forward to coming back when the new floating slips are completed by the pool. It was a great experience!!!
