Northport is one of the places on North-East which I always want to come back. Been there many times but stil the place is fascinating, beautiful and charming. Will come again and again
The marina just in the center of old port. However the distance between different docks is rather small and slips rather narrow. So it is quite tricky to get in and out on 40 ft sail boat without bow thrusters. Staying on outside docks are out of question due to the passing boats and strong rolls. The marina more suitable for the power boats, rather than sail boats. The personal is very friendly and very helpful though. The bathrooms and showers are a bit of walk.
Boothbay is beautiful place. This marina is on other side of the town and very quite, but only 5 minutes walk to the town. While walking to the town take a look (on a right side) in Bristol boat yard to see the restored schooner hull. One thing though. The wifi is spotty, but I think it will be upgraded next year. Definitely will stay there again. Highly recommended.
The stay was pleasant. It was very easy to find marina and mooring buoy. Sag Harbor town is nice, but generally way overpriced, due to close location to the Hamptons and amount of luxury super yachts. Dockwa cancelation policy is very inconvenient though. You can not cancel on a short notice, and credit towards next stay is pretty much useless for the cruisers. You may get to the same marina in next 5 years or may be never. Better will be extend the credit toward next stay in any Dockwa participating marinas. Besides it the service is good.
