Wickford Cove North is a lovely, quiet, well maintained marina. Lovely walk to Historic Wickford Village through nice neighborhoods. Manager Kim keeps everything ship shape!
Dolphin Marina and Restaurant is one of those rare places that does everything well! Without exception the dockhands, waiters, bartenders, ALL work hard, know their jobs, and are polite and friendly. They are consistently aware and reacting to help without being asked. Chris and the rest of the Saxton family somehow manage to have a staff, year after year, that is top notch. They should write a book about hiring, training, and supervising people. Beyond that, the location, view, food, and of course!... the blueberry muffins and coffee delivered to your boat every day at both moorings and docks!.... are all wonderful! Our time in Maine always starts and ends with a few days at Dolphin Marina! UPDATE: We missed last year due to the pandemic. My review is still accurate and we enjoyed our stay as much a ever! Two nights dining outside at the Restaurant included Lobster Stew (chock full of lobster), Calamari, Seafood Risotto, and other wonderful entrees served creatively with perfectly paired spices and creative vegetables. And, of course, Blueberry muffins!
Lovely harbor, of course! Good double pennants on moorings. Adequate dinghy dock. Very nice harbormaster! Only criticism is that the launch drivers drive at excessive speed in the mooring field. Several times, when they came close by our boat, they could plainly see us boarding our dinghy and yet still waked us badly.
Correct mooring spacing for our boat. Mooring pennant in good condition but would like to have a larger loop to accommodate our cleats. Dinghy dock is very inadequate for this harbor. It is insulting that it is only a tiny corner and needs to be moved to a location that is commensurate with the number of moorings served.
Hope to never have to stay at Tides Bulkhead again. Compounded by inattentive dock hands. First tied us up, which we then redid as not tied well or correctly, plugged in. Second, came back and said they needed to move us forward because they’d forgotten a boat was coming in behind us. Changed power to stern pedestal. Phoned when we were out to dinner to ask us to change power to bow (again) so boat behind us could plug in at our stern as their cord couldn’t reach their bow. All this for the privilege of docking in a parking lot, with cars parked 6 feet from boat and no bathrooms. Oh, and the harbormaster told us not to come back in August because he won’t have any dockhands.
Fabulous marina! Attentive and friendly people doing a great job on the docks and also with amenities. Nicest Captains Lounge, lovely pool, courtesy car. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. We’ll be back.
Very efficient and competent dock hands make arrival and departure a nonevent! Clean and well maintained grounds. Easy fuel fill where you’re tied. Fun and good restaurant. Extensive menu, food well prepared and delicious. Good band added to the festive ambiance. Marine store. This marina is right on the ICW, long dock, all boats side tied. Very rural, not within walk of any shopping except with a $70 Uber ride.
Wonderful marina! Efficient staff, competent dock hands. Wayne, Dockmaster, really cares. Nice floating docks. Good electric. The floating pool was much appreciated. Great access to Baltimore waterfront promenade. Nice welcome packet with all marina information as well as location of grocery, hardware store, etc. we will be back!
