There is no better operation on the entire east coast of the United States. From the total protection, to the friendly staff, to the exemplary launch service.
Here’s the “Good, Bad, and Ugly” of our stay. The Good - The moorings are rigged to hold the Queen Mary and they are protected with foam edging it assure that your hull won’t be scratched. The staff is efficient, pleasant, and eager to help. The Bad - The trip into the mooring is long and circuitous. The Ugly - This was our second stay and a replay of the first. There are some Cormorants that just love to light on the boats spreaders and unload the results of their latest fishing expedition, after it was digested, of course. Not just once, but twice, until we posted a person in the cockpit to ward them off, right up until dark. What a stinking mess they made. Of course the Cormorants are not caused by Plymouth, but I did want to send out a word to the wise, since it happened, both times we have stayed there.
Weather sucked, but the launch drivers and the facilities are top notch. The town is easy-to-use
Pulled in for fuel, really good dock staff. Asked about moorings as the weather was supposed to deteriorate. Moorings available, price was good and the moorings and pennants were clean, well buoyed, and well marked. Will stay again.
Lower rate, but more expensive than marinas in the area. The rate per foot is only $2.00, however, there is no break for a weekly or monthly stay. There are no dock attendants, one bathroom for all boaters (one toilet, one sink, and one shower, all in the same room), no laundry or lounge. We stayed for 13 days and paid $1280 for our 40 foot boat. A month at Jabins, just up the creek was $900 for an entire month, unfortunately for us, they had no space, so we ended up here. When I asked about a monthly rate, I was told they had one but they don’t offer it because it is too difficult to keep track of. Will not use this marina again.
