I’ve been at this marina for 23 years. Great location steps from Hingham Center. Great restaurants, grocery, shops. Very courteous launch drivers. Don’t forget to tip! Well serviced moorings. Very sheltered location. Watch your NavAids on the way in.
Actually, due to high winds and gusts, It was necessary to abandon my sail to Edgartown. I notified the Harbormaster 48 hours in advance and regretfully requested a refund. I’m confident they will honor it.
Peddock’s Island is a great, Easily accessible accessible destination, with beaches, an historic military relic, great views of Boston skyline. It’s understandable nearing the end of the season that moorings would be thinned out. For our sailing club meet-up, our boats were quite far apart - not hailing distance. Next time I’ll request a mooring more shoreward in the mooring field as evening boat traffic delivered a fair amount of wake.
The reservation was easy and Kevin from DCR was very helpful. Problem was that I was assigned mooring G17 at George’s Island and there was no mooring marked 17. All moorings were taken. Another call to Kevin revealed that there were two mooring balls in the field marked 18. The outer one was supposed to be 17. Squatter left without difficulty. Twenty minutes after arrival we were on our mooring.
Tucker's Wharf is located perfectly at the center of Marblehead's Old Town which makes it a charming and delightful destination. The Landfall is great for dinner while the Driftwood is a local breakfast favorite. And you can't miss enjoying a spirit at Maddy's Sail Loft. There are plenty of shops and services to amuse and help. Mark and his team are gracious, welcoming, and helpful Harbormasters.
