have stayed many times and always good. the renovations look quality. was disappointed we could not get a slip despite the appearance of open slips but such is life. we ended up on a mooring. the issue was the mooring lines were completely encrusted in barnacles and i had to tie to front cleats that were too close together to keep my boat from getting scratched to death which resulted in us swinging around too much. i provided this feedback in private message but never heard back. please maintain your mooring lines!
fuel prices were misrepresented on dockwa (they had a date/time stamp showing updated the night before our morning arrival). i planned to top off tanks but the price at the pumps was significantly higher and $2/gallon more than i pay at my home marina for diesel. part of the reason we decided to stay overnight was because of the posted fair fuel prices, so that was a disappointment.
Stayed once before a couple years ago. Had power issues then. Had power issues again during this stay, as did other boats we were traveling with. Have stayed at over 50 marinas with our current boat in the past couple years and only had issue at one other marina where they had a known electrical issue. Also, got shocked when turning off the breaker when we were departing. It was very humid so don't know if that played a role but wish the power issues would be fixed on the dock... the 50 amp connection looked rusty so corrosion inside the shore power pedestal may have played a role but switched to a completely different pedestal with twin 30 amps to 50 amp via an adapter. The breaker itself is what shocked me when I went to turn it off to disconnect.
very rude when hailing on vhf and asking fuel price they said tie up and find out or call on phone. no thank you. probably overpriced.
this marina could be so much more than the dump that it currently is. pilings are terribly placed. sharp rusted metal sticking out of pilings that will easily scratch boats. staff doesnt seem too knowledgeable about boats. their electric system is poorly designed and cannot handle a decent load. only pro is how cheap it is, especially if you are a suffolk county resident.
used to visit annually. now $9 per foot plus other fees. LOL
had an overnight transient reservation. my vessel draws 3 feet. my slip for the night was right next to their main channel. at low tide i was sitting on the bottom, stuck in mud. we could not leave when we wanted and had to wait for high tide. this marina is in desperate need of dredging. they should be liable for any damage / clogging to engines, HVAC, etc, as a result of lying about their depths.
