Located only minutes from Montauk Inlet, when entering harbor going past the commercial fleet stay to the right (Western Heading) and look for the Montauk Marine Basin fuel dock sign. Pictured here is the harbor entrance looking north east. Montauk Marine Basin monitors VHF Channel 19. Call us for berth info, fuel dock clearance or a radio check. We are close to motels, restaurants, golf, tennis, horseback riding, boat rentals, shopping, and best of all great beaches. Montauk Marine is very close and within walking distance of the Gosman's Dock complex. Boaters even stay at Montauk Marine for afternoon and browse the shops and have a great lunch at nearby restaurants such as Swallow East, Dave's Grill, Sammy's and Manucci's all within a short walking distance of Montauk Marine Basin.
Been coming here for years to buy fuel, bait and ice. First time spending a weekend here and it was great. Super easy and a great spot. Crew was great and I recommend it to anyone. Thanks!!
Just a minor complaint. The marina knew I was alone and did find me an east slip to access. However, when I arrived they were short of staff that day and i got little help with docking and tying up. They almost ran away after they got a couple lines set with no regard or information as to tide change, etc.
Stayed at mtk Marine Basin for years the employees are very accommodating and a great atmosphere. . Thanks for a great time again look forward to my next visit
Conveniently located Nice marine store But the big dude with the shaved head who runs the place seems to always be pissed off.
They are the best. Great service friendly people. Have needed parts a couple of times and they always seem to have it all. A great destination.
Wonderful like always. Nice place, friendly people :-)
Always a great stay. Bathrooms recently upgraded. Shop fully stocked.
Really great facility. Down to earth management, staff and neighbors! No wild parties. Super clean facilities. Great access to local attractions (particularly food!). Highly recommend and we plan on making it our go-to location while in the Montauk area.
Excellent facilities, very polite staff, clean new bathrooms and showers.
A fishing marina. Well stocked store for supplies. Diesel and gas out front. Served as a good stopover on the way to elsewhere.
I have been to this marina before. They are extremely rude and dishonest. Chase lied about fully refunding the dockage fee on a same day dockage rental if there was an issue with the boat in transit to the marina and did not honor his word. He charged my credit card and refused to refund and now i have to dispute with the credit company. They do not answer emails and or calls either so be very careful!
Staff was awesome dock hands were friendly and knowledgeable, on site store offers everything you could need .
We take boat out to Montauk every summer to fish. Fuel, tackle, and ice all right there and helpful and friendly staff. Place is great we'll see ya again next year.
They accommodated us when we were in a bind as to where to go. Very nice people and good vibe the fixed dock was a little challenging, but we managed. We will return!
The dock hands were great, bathrooms were clean, short walk to beach/restaurants.
First trip to Montauk. We will be back but not based on our stay at Montauk Marine Basin. Dock staff (1 or 2 kids at the gas dock) were friendly but don't seem to know much about boating. We also asked for recommendations on where to eat, etc. The dock hand didn't have very many good things to say about Montauk-which didn't make us feel great about our choice in trip. I encourage everyone to read the reviews of this marina before booking. Unfortunately, I did not. This is not a vacation resort-this is a working fishing dock, which I do not have an issue with as I should have read the reviews first What I do take issue with is the husband owner who basically doesn't care about the summer crowd and replied to my legitimate complaints: "I can't control what other people do on my docks. I offer fair prices, if you don't like it, find another marina, or leave a bad review!" Well, I am doing just that, leaving you the review you deserve. If you, as a business owner, cannot handle constructive criticism, you're in the wrong line of work. And by the way, you can control what goes on, it's your marina! And you might be in for a future lawsuit if something happens on your property with, or, to people who shouldn’t be using your amenities... This is what I complained about: - Bathrooms are disgusting period! No airflow, rust on the metal, broken drains in the showers-black mold everywhere. The doors are left night long to the public including the local bar next door. - Fisherman showing up at 5:00 am, smoking in the parking lots, on the docks, on their boats, and in front of the bathrooms where again, the doors are left open all night. I had to purchase a $25.00 tub of Damp Rid to remove the smell of cigarettes, cigars, and gasoline from our cabin. As previously stated, when I complained, the owner could have cared less. I wasn't looking for a free stay, but a little empathy and maybe knock off a couple of bucks on the Damp-Rid. - People waiting to go on fishing charters formed a line at the women’s room. My wife had to wait to use the bathroom for quite some time until all of the charters had left. Needless to say, we won't be back, and we'll be spending our money elsewhere.
fuel prices were misrepresented on dockwa (they had a date/time stamp showing updated the night before our morning arrival). i planned to top off tanks but the price at the pumps was significantly higher and $2/gallon more than i pay at my home marina for diesel. part of the reason we decided to stay overnight was because of the posted fair fuel prices, so that was a disappointment.
I would pick zero if that was allowed. We had a reservation for 3 days and in the morning when we were to leave our starboard starter broke. I called them immediately to explain this and that we have been there several times before. They said this is the policy no exceptions. I understand it's August and they need to fill the slips. However they could have said if we can rent it out they can credit us. I'm sure the spot was filled, and they double popped the weekend. I would not recommend this place.
Need more power off the dock. Water pressure can use a couple of more psi’s. Service team and location is spectacular. Our number one spot in MTK.
We will never go back to this marina Besides the dock hands being so helpful and nice , when we asked for a staircase to get out of the dingy since we were older we were told they couldn’t take care of everyone. Also we don’t believe political signs should be up in any Marina
For what they offer, it is expensive. The dockhands are friendly and helpful.
Great place, great people, exactly what was looking for
Very helpful and accommodating. Close to some good restaurants and a short ride to town
Great service from the entire staff, the dock boys and the Marina store.
Old and unkept. I don’t think the bathrooms had been cleaned since last year.
Excellent marina with great staff! We will definitely be back!
The marina is always a great place to stay. Always clean surroundings, a friendly staff & just about anything you may need when away from home port.
First class marina. Always accommodating where they can. Full compliment of space, boating gear and of course fishing gear.
Was very easy to get into and dock hands were great. We had reservation at Snugharbor but they ran into problems getting boat out of our slip so canceled me as we got there. So was great to be able to get outside slip at Montauk Marine Basin.
A perfect place to stay for our start and end point of our summer cruise. Would have liked to have had a bulk fuel discount. Our 6th year through for our New England cruising. Close to the restaurants and activities which made for a nice walk in the evening.
we had mechanical failure in our bow thruster that delayed our departure preventing us from reaching Montauk Marina. the dock master insisted on charging us full price when we called to cancle. We all know boating is expensive and unpredicable, and most marinas understand this, but not some.
The owners and employees are wonderful There was a Boat two down from me that hosted a techno club party with 30-40 people Friday night into Saturday music blasting i moved to the gas dock in the middle of the night Saturday night not as many people but when we left at 130 am to go out fishing, they had music blaring on the bridge
Always a pleasure.they had everything we needed. Bait ,tackle ,fuel and that good old Montauk feeling.
Nice well maintained and clean. Everyone was very helpful. I’ll be back soon
Spent a night here, and after I made the turn in was surprised by the room, compared to other Montauk marinas. Great store, staff and a hopping tiki bar at night.
Stayed here on my first day of owning a big boat. I let the dock hand know it was my first time so I didn't get packed in a tight spot. Well of course he has me go inside between 2 boats so about as nervous as I could be, I did my best. Spot looked very small yet he kept telling me I would fit. Well I stopped as it seemed way to tight and sure as heck we were wedged between 2 pylons with my 14' wide boat. He well aware of the boat size, my skill and confidence. Anyway my review is on the dock help because the "help" was very unhelpful through the whole process. I've been to plenty of locations with people and normally the dock hands remove all or most of your docking stress. Very very disappointed. I give them an extra star because they had a great marine store and the people inside seemed great. Get some skilled help guys, if this was a new guy then you should have sent someone else out to help teach him, looking at others it seems others also were not fond of your dock help.
We have stayed at this marina for the last 3 years. It was never fancy, it is a real fisherman’s place. We didn’t expect anything more. However this year we found the marina totally run down. The people in the Marina office are unhelpful and downright rude. The WiFi didn’t work; the bathrooms were closed for about 24 hours, were not very clean, and had no a/c.
This is a workingman‘s marina, not a resort and Marina. No finger peers, no extensive amenities. But it’s convenient and relatively affordable
Nice place and fair rate for two night stay. Would definitely stay again.
These are the nicest people imaginable. Wonderful staff
It is time for some renovations throughout !! Otherwise the staff were accommodating and Lynn’s Hula Hut was a lot of fun
People were friendly and staff helpful. Facilities need to be freshened up, esp. bathrooms. Docs look worn and dirty with bird dropping stains everywhere, but it is also less expensive than the Star Island venues. Floating docks with pilings on the sides, no floating fingers. Definitely a fishing place with a great store for fishing gear. Most area restaurants were closed, but would be opening up in a few days (just before memorial day). We tried "La Fin", a new place and enjoyed it for dinner.
It was ok, we could have used some mature help upon arrival. They sent two young kids who knew nothing about docking, and who gave us no local knowledge on the tie up techniques and were totally ignorant on how to properly connect a shore power cord. NEVER plug a shore power cord into a live circuit on the pedestal. Chris told his trainee “be sure the pedestal power switch is turned on before plugging in” He was quiet snotty when I tried to educate him also.
We really enjoyed the slip we were in, the view was beautiful and staff was very nice.
Dock staff pretty much unhelpful. Seemed annoyed that I asked for help on and off the dock. Facilities are very marginal.
BEWARE. I had originally scheduled two nights as a transient. An unexpected circumstance caused me to delay my arrival for two days. They said l could not change dates and charged me their full rate, including electricity for the first day. Then a couple days later they charged my card the full charge for the second day, including electricity. Watch out for this place. They will take advantage of you after you trust them with your credit card info.
Great location. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Easy in and out.
Even as Tropical Storm Fay continues to bear down on us, Montauk Marine Basin refuses to honor their own cancellation policy. We were forced to cancel due to severe incoming weather conditions. It was a matter of safety and the only reasonable choice, as following our original plans and keeping our reservation would have meant risking life, limb and property. Additionally, one of our crew members is currently in fragile health due to ongoing cancer treatment, and traveling through the predicted 8 foot seas would have compromised her health greatly. Despite this, rather than following their own policy and charging us 50% for the cancellation, MMB chose to immediately charge us the full price of our entire 4-night stay. No where on the website does it say that they are entitled to do this, but they did it anyway. This unethical move impacted 4 vessels traveling together and amounts to a windfall of several thousand dollars for Montauk Marine Basin, yet they have found no room to work with us on a fair resolution. Should they, at some point, decide they DO have a conscience, I'm happy to retract this complaint, But for now.... buyer beware. These are unscrupulous people.
Great service and a clean facility. Love the TIKKI bar!
Employees at marina very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!!
Great time at MMB. Everything you need right there. Staff was great. Highly recommended.
Dock hand was extremely helpful. Laid back vibe. Tiki Bar was great! We'll definitely be back.
Busy marina with boats coming and going on fuel dock. Facilities are tired-- docks roped off with safety tape for areas with soft planks. Larger boats are assigned to fixed dock. The young staff is friendly, but not well trained. Location is near several good restaurants and the Tiki bar with live entertainment. Good Uber service to access town.
Very friendly staff, helped dock us right away. Restroom were a problem though as they were vandalized.
Very convenient place to stay. We will be back.
Starting with what was good. Location was very nice. Easy walk to Gossman's. The 50 Amp electric worked well just over 200 Volts. Water Source was plentiful. There is a really cool Tiki bar that plays live music on the property. Also if fishing is your thing this place is a great place with bait station and ice maker on premises. Now the things that I was not thrilled about: We are accustomed upon arrival for dock hands to board the boat and help tie up the boat. The reason we appreciate this so much is we are not familier with the tide swing in the area and it saves alot of effort trying to get the lines just right. On this day the dock hand did a pour job of securing the stern and never offered to assist in helping with bow or spring lines. Also since there was no Pole closer to the mid ship or bow I almost drifted into the new Viking next to me and last second I saw what was happening and climbed over the helm chair to grab the bow thruster to avoid contact. I normally have my son with me except that he needed to bring the tender over and when he asked the dock hand where he can tie up even temporarily the dock hand said I don't know. So I was left on my own! In the 3 days we were there we never saw a dock hand walking the dock to check on any of the boats. The Docks are old and dilapidated. The poles are old and weathered with no pole caps on top. The adjacent property had a fish cleaning station that someone left a garden hose spraying through the fence all day and night onto the dock. So every time anyone on our dock need to get onto land we would get wet. There is no person to contact at night in case of emergency. I know this because I tried to call about the water spraying across the dock. I eventually walked thru the spray around the fence and relocated the hose to stop spraying the dock. On the plus side the complete lack of Dock hands made staying past 11am check out easy if wanted to since we never saw them. I wouldn't tell or suggest to others not to visit there. I would just prepare them for the less then yacht club experience that we experienced and to be prepare to take maters into your own hands.
It is a very nice marina walking distance to many restaurants and shops
Great bait and tackle shop! Most down to earth marina in Montauk.
Not really a cruisers port, all about fishing, power was not adequate, we were there for 3 days and the owner said he would get someone to make a small repair, never showed up.
Facilities are outdated. Staff was nice. View from boat was nice.
Always love it here! My only complaint is that the wifi could be stronger. Staff is friendly and very helpful in docking. It is also a great location and close to the Hopper.
Staff was helpful and efficient... Marina was clean as well as the bathrooms... already recommended to others...will be back
Friendly staff, multiple bars / restaurants within walking distance, fuel available and easy in / out.
Good marina, friendly staff. Owner Chase met us dockside at 10:30PM on July 4 and made sure we are getting a good spot.
It's a quiet marina within walking distance of restaurants and beach. The docks needs a little work. Super friendly.
As always, convenient, easy to dock and friendly staff!
They were very nice. It was a pleassure to be there. Thanks so much
We fished in the Star Island shark tourmamernt on 8-4 & 8- 5th. Even though the tournament was out of Star Island we stayed at Montauk Marine Basin. The service and staff at Montauk is far superior to Star Island Much more friendlier too. On the way over to Montauk from Point Judith we experienced some engine trouble. After making one phone call to Chase over at Montauk Marine Basin he had there Cat technichian Chriss waiting for us on arrival. In just a few minutes he changed out our fuel filters and water seperators on my 62' Ocean Sport Fish and we were good to go. Just another example of why we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Capt Ed Ingalls Atlantic Hunter FYI The owner and staff at Star Island marina seem to be highly annoyed with the boaters that stay there.
Arrived and radioed in. Told we were at "slip 32". No idea where this is, no signage. A stop at the fuel dock got us a dockhand to meet us there so we could find the slip. We arrived close to closing time so by the time we tied off and went to get the bathroom/shower key, everyone had left and the place was locked. No bath or shower access until the next morning. If a guest arrives, they should make sure they have a key before leaving for the night.
