Newly upgraded floating docks and one of the few real slips at Block with very competent staff. Only problem is the new stanchions have super sensitive GFIs meaning many of the boats had electric problems. I assume this is one of those kinks that will eventually be worked out by the marina but if your boat is not brand new, you may want to contact them about the electric issue.
Floating docks and well run and very protected marina 8 miles north of Newport ($20 uber ride) with very good lunch and dinner restaurant on premises and ok bathroom/showers/laundry and small worn pool. Safe Harbor just took over and is in the process of upgrading this location. Full service staff on hand where they build and extensively repair boats so this is the place to go if you want a consultation and a quote on some work. Very tight maneuvering in the marina. There are lots of people on their boats although the place is very quiet at night. There is nothing in the surrounding area of Portsmouth.
Floating dockss are long and designed for very large yachts. We were right on the outside on the harbor with great views but subject to wake, although for the most part, it was very calm. A 115 foot yacht bowthrusted in behind us. Our friends in a 36 sail boat were stuck well inside behind sky scaper yachts with no view and no air. The facility is right next to Bowens wharf so a short walk from the center of the action. There is nothing at the marina but clean bathrooms/showers, fuel dock/pumpout and a small area to sit on a raised deck. Staff are very nice and competent with the lines.
Beautiful weekend and the marina has worked all all the kinks from the construction. Now if they could only do something about the mosquitos.
Beautiful, well maintained marina with floating docks and easy docking and attentive staff. Restaurant right next to the docks and pool with lifeguard. Shuttle to Greenport on the hour.
Quiet place in a quaint colonial village. You have to take a "ferry" (pontoon boat) across a small canal to get on and off the island. You will need Uber to visit local restaurants. Except for two in town, the Black Seal (casual) and the Griswold Inn (dress). The Ct River museum is next door and worth visiting. 2 nights here is plenty.
