Always a good stay. Used Instacart to re-provision. Did laundry. Loved walking to get takeout from Tululla's Taco. Biked down to Beavertail, which is a good workout with the hills. Beautiful sunsets.

Edgartown is a favorite destination. The mooring system with the Harbormaster and Dockwa works well. Easy, pleasant pump out boat (Mike is a hoot). Great restaurants: Among the Flowers for B’fast. We often rent bikes — favorite ride is along beach to Oak Bluffs, then on to Vineyard Haven via East Chop, and back...

We came to FIYC from Dodsons in Stonington and the contrast was stark. If I never meet the young dock hand, again it’ll be too soon. His attitude soured the experience from the get go. Grudgingly courteous, he lacked warmth, hospitality, and good manners. He had the gall to comment upon my wife’s degree of participation during docking. I suspect he is well thought of by the FIYC members since he was attentive to them. That’s not a bad thing in and of itself, but he essentially encouraged a member to buzz the dock a few times in a jet boat, which caused a wake. Lincoln White, the dockmaster was very helpful, after the fact. The market was worth the long walk. I’d say the marina is trying to gain positive cash flow for the yacht club, but for someone without friends on the island, it would be better if they had a few moorings and a dingy Dock. I won’t go back unless I’m visiting someone on the island.

Our stay in Nantucket was delightful on the whole. Our mooring location, E5, however, wasn't ideal. The tide/wind conflict meant that about half the time we and the boats around us were bumping up against our mooring balls. There was an old wooden Hinckley next to us whose mooring ball would squeak loader than an Osprey in these circumstances. This part of the mooring field also seemed to be heavily trafficked by small motor boats and RIB's traveling over 5 knots and making wake. I'd hope for a mooring further up next time? The new guys running the launch (Waypoint Marine) seem happier than the old guys....
