At time of booking, the rate was shown as $2-$3/ft. When the reservation was made the cost was $3.50/ft. Dock hands did not make it to us to help us tie-up in high winds. Adjacent boats helped us dock in wind. I think short staffed, but they could have contacted me on radio and asked us to hold off till they were ready to help. One of the 2 dryers in womens laundry to north was not working. Apparently it had not worked in a while as wife stated the cord had been cut to stop operation. We have stayed here several times before. All prior visits have been top rate. Restrooms and showers were always clean when visited on this trip.
An excellent facility. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. Facilities in excellent condition and well maintained. Closest marina to the downtown of Cape May. The other boaters there were very friendly. Highly recommend. At end of canal, so no wakes during sleep.
The Marina, Herrington North is very nice. Also very big. Except for two things, i would give them five stars. 1) We made request in morning, & by mid afternoon we had no confirmation. Late afternoon, an hour before our stated arrival time in reservation request, we called Marina direct to inquire if we should continue in bound or go somewhere else. Our request was not filled due to question on boat length of traveling partner boat? We both got confirmations after making the call. 2) Maybe Dockwa is part culprit (2nd time this trip): Rate at reservation request was $2.50/ft. When Request was processed by Dockwa, the stay was processed at $3.00/ft. As stated the marina is nice, well manicured grounds and very clean facilities in buildings. There is a restaurant (great & diverse food) adjacent. There are a number of repair shops located on the premises. Ask for rate before confirming.
Great service by staff and launch crews. Helped me to get to water source to refill tank after water fitting failure enroute. Always available when calling for pick-up. Pointed out pick-up point near grocery store so no long walk back to drop-off point.
Good Marina. Staff very helpful and courteous. Small laundromat (2ea w&d). Ships store not big, but a good variety of basic needs in electrical parts and charts. An easy dinghy ride to downtown shops and restaurants as well as to Mystic Seaport.
Great Location up the river. Mooring balls very protected from wind and wave action in all directions. Limited restroom facilities ashore. Laundry is several blocks from dockmaster office. No large grocer nearby, but a convenience store is nearby. And a hardware store with limited boating supplies.
