About

Introduction:

The second to last drawbridge before you reach Lake Worth, the PGA Boulevard Bascule Bridge traverses the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) at Mile Marker 1012.6 with a 25-foot closed vertical clearance and 90 feet of horizontal clearance in the center span. The bridge has a restricted opening schedule and opens only on the hour and half-hour.

Navigating the Bridge:

Often congested with boating traffic, the narrow stretch of water between the ICW and Lake Worth warrants a cautious lookout for other traffic.

Depending on schedule, the bridge can be opened by horn signal (one long, one short) or by hailing the bridge tender on VHF Channel 09. (All bridges in the state of Florida must be hailed on VHF Channel 09.)

Local Notices to Mariners:

Local Notices to Mariners are available online from the U.S. Coast Guard.
