About

Introduction:

Situated at Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) Mile Marker 1021.8, the Flagler Memorial Bascule Bridge is the first opening bridge south of Lake Worth inlet. The bridge is located on Lake Worth and is just north of the Royal Park Bascule Bridge at Mile Marker 1022.6. The bridge has a restricted opening schedule.

Navigating the Bridge:

The center span of this bascule bridge is located toward the west side of Lake Worth, as the east shore of the “lake” is shallow, with four- to five-foot depths. Well fendered, with a closed vertical clearance of 17 feet, the bridge is easy to transit.

The bridge can be opened by horn signal (one long, one short) or by hailing the bridge tender on VHF Channel 09 (all bridges in the state of Florida must be hailed on VHF Channel 09) as schedule allows.

Local Notices to Mariners:

Local Notices to Mariners are available online from the U.S. Coast Guard.
