Pigeon Cove is a small, but well protected harbor on the north side of Sandy Bay, about two miles northwest of Rockport Harbor. Mainly oriented to the commercial lobsterman and fisherman, there are moorings sometimes available here, and you may be able to score a slip in the town marina on occasion.
Use NOAA Chart 13279.
Pigeon Cove can be reached from Sandy Bay via red nun "2," (visible in the image above) which is the only aid to navigation for Pigeon Cove.
Depths inside the cove vary between eight and 15 feet, and there is a marina with limited tie ups (mainly reserved for commercial lobsterman and fishing boats). Moorings are available on a fist-come, first-served basis, but we recommend you call ahead on the VHF to make sure there is space available before you make plans to stay for the evening.
Local Notices to Mariners are available online from the U.S. Coast Guard.
