Greenwich Harbor |
Founded in 1889, Indian Harbor Yacht Club has a distinguished history of yacht racing and boating. Located in Captain Harbor on western Long Island Sound in Greenwich CT, the club provides members and guests an ideal setting for year-round enjoyment. Whether racer or cruiser, sailor or powerboater, blue water enthusiast or coastal cruiser, Indian Harbor is the perfect family-friendly place to relax, have fun, compete and build friendships.
Guest and transient moorings are available. There are no membership requirements for making a mooring reservation. Moorings include use of the Club Launch.
Due to limited space, the Club's docks are typically not available to visiting non-member yachts. Guest yachts are typically placed on moorings. If you have a restriction or specific need for dockage. Short term dockage for pickup/dropoff, etc. can be made available - hail the Marine Staff on VHF 68. Maximum draft at docks is 6.5ft at MLLW. Potable water and 30 amp, 50 amp and 120V connections are available. Dinghies may be docked on the inside of the East (Junior Sailing) Docks.
Beautiful harbor! Moorings are the only option, but the water is delicious for swimming. Excellent showers WITH provided towels. Excellent dining room overlooking the harbor and sound. Alas, dining is only available to Indian Harbor YC members or members of reciprocal clubs. Worth calling the front desk in advance to confirm if you can eat there.
Very pleasant with very nice launch hands. Easy walk to downtown Greenwich.
Good service, beautiful location. No complaints. We'll be back.
Great spot and great staff
Last minute mooring availability
We stayed overnight, Saturday to Sunday, Sept 25 -26, 2021. The restaurant was fully booked, but the front office did not inform me of this when I called. We made do with food delivery, but it would have been helpful to know this in advance. Launch operators were nice, as usual. We had access to the outside bar because we are members of a reciprocal yacht club, so that was nice. If you plan to make a reservation here, ask ahead about their restaurant.
Very friendly and helpful staff - both on the Marine and F&B sides. Great club to visit.
Helpful launch. Outstanding facilities
Great mooring - solid - excellent rigging and clean. Attentive staff.
Beautiful yacht club! Staff was all extremely friendly an efficient. Moorings in great condition with an easy to grab pennant. Will return again next year.
Really great spot. Easy to get to and navigate. Craig on the launch directed me to our guest mooring spot and dropped us off at the dock. We had a terrific lunch with a great view overlooking the harbor with boats passing by. Afterwards we had a pleasant walk into Greenwich. Highly recommend.
Beautiful Club.We had a great time.
The club is very nice. Expect some rolling on the moorings but all in all I'd recommend
Great overnight stay. They had a pre-assigned mooring for us, much further in that one we’d have picked just showing up and there is a great area for kids to hang out away from the main club house. The only criticism was the mooring was fairly rolly in the prevailing NE wind.
Great showers, wonderful service.
Friendly, helpful staff and sparkling-clean facilities. Gorgeous setting. We enjoyed the outdoor bar and then it was an easy, just-over-a-mile walk into town.
Great meal in the 2nd floor bar restaurant. Nice calm mooring location. Very pleasant experience.
The mooring was way out in the waterway and rocking & rolling. We asked for a closer mooring and they said didn’t have a spot closer for a 50’, although we thought there were some spots. If it were not for the water taxi ride to and from our boat to land, they would get zero! Craig was very friendly. Location to town was an easy walk.
