Wickford Harbor |
The Wickford Yacht Club has a membership of over 100 families and supports many family boating activities including sailboat racing, sailing lessons, cruises, skill building, seminars, as well as a variety of social events. Boat ownership is not a requirement for membership. The Club is located in Wickford Harbor on Narragansett Bay.
Maximum LOA we can accommodate is 40ft.
Everything about WYC is outstanding. Terrific facilities, location and most especially - the amazing welcome that we received by members when we came in to cook dinner on the deck. Few places that we have ever stayed have had such a warm and inclusive welcome from the members. We will be back.
The club manager is very welcoming and helpful. We definitely would come again!
Beautiful harbor and quaint downtown maybe for a perfect weekend on the mooring. Will definitely be one of a regular trips.
Nice club, helpful and responsive to questions. Wickford is a great little village to visit. Town dinghy dock is fine…a little rotted wood, to tie the dinghy on, but some cleats too. Floating dock itself is in good shape. Tie your dinghy fore and aft, so it doesn’t swing, if tide is running out, as it gets shallow behind the dinghy dock, on the shore line.
Fantastic place to visit. We took our young family for an over night weekend. Chuck was very responsive and helpful. Nice quiet harbor.
Love WYC. Chuck is the best! Village of Wickford is charming and enjoyable to walk around
Nice protected harbor and Chuck was very helpful and welcoming.
Great location. And Chuck is always helpful and responsive.
We enjoyed our stay on a mooring for the weekend. We had a beautiful view of the bay. The Yacht Club was very nice and the facilities where very clean ! We are looking forward to our next visit.
The people were nice enough but there were no services. No launch, no dingy dock, no showers, and no bathroom.
The hidden gem of Narragansett Bay. Chuck and the group at Wickford club are always very welcoming. The facilities are great and the morning equipment is sound in bad weather.
Convenient and pleasant situation and welcoming steward. Very accommodating to our yacht club cruise. Will definitely be back!
poor communication with the yacht club. would not respond to VHF radio calls for guidance about mooring location. Nice area to visit.
Excellent communication from chuck. Comfortable mooring. Clean shower. Nice town.
Great to be in Wickford! Dinghy tie up is ok, but not great — the town’s dinghy tie up is deteriorating…. Might be bad by 2024. The club’s is limited for visitors. Fun shopping.
We felt very welcome at Wickford Yacht Club's beautiful facility. We were texted details instructions for finding our mooring. Wickford harbor is a fun place to stay, and well protected. Easy Dinghy ride to the YC and to the inner harbor to the town dock.
Great! Very friendly and helpful staff and nice quiet location! Thanks again Chuck!
No services but tie up dock in town. Lovely quiet cove.
Lovely, peaceful harbor. We enjoyed watching the kids sail by each day with the youth sailing program. Several nice restaurants a short dinghy ride into town.
Nice views and the moorings are easy to pick up. We had a nice chat with Chuck, he was helpful.
The harbor is perfect. The boats going in & out move with no wake. The harbormaster is doing the job. The yacht club assigned us a mooring in a good spot, and Chuck, the steward, sees to it that all the hawsers are out of the water and clean. The harbor is very well protected from all directions, and beautiful. Two welcoming public floats give you a good spot to tie the dinghy and walk the old time streets and visit the shops, and look at the restored homes. The restaurant on the water is fine and has a good selection. The Pizza place across the street has one of the best pies I have had, and we enjoyed taking it back to the boat to watch the setting sun. Only thing we missed was a convenience store nearby for a few food items. No luck. Nice visit we stayed a total of 3 days!
The Yacht Club responded very quickly with the confirmation and gave great directions to the mooring. Wickford Harrbor and the town are must sees for every boater!
Great area, and Chuck is very helpful and accommodating!!!!!!
Very nice evening on a well protected mooring. The Yacht Club emailed me the location and number of the mooring we were on. They were well marked and easy to find.
Quaint harbor, friendly staff came out to greet us.
Friendly and helpful people. Moorings are in a great location. Quiet and cool on hot days.
We didn’t go into yacht club. But chuck came out and showed us to a mooring. Easy dinghy ride to quaint town center of wickford. Beautiful little seaside town with ample shops and restaurants. Watch the town dinghy dock at low tide really no water to get out if u r around back of dock.
Lovely facility. Chuck the manager was wonderful, directed us to our mooring, very helpful in every way. Great stay!
Our first attempt via radio to reach the WYC went unanswered but we got a quick response with a cell call. We were given clear directions to find our mooring. Chuck from the club came out to greet us and provided a map and answered our questions. We dinked into town. The town dinghy dock is clearly marked but could use an upgrade as there was rotten wood and rusty nails making tying up hazardous.
Wickford Yacht Club and Chuck (the Steward) were very welcoming and got us on a mooring with short notice. The harbor is pretty, peaceful and convenient.
nice harbor, well maintained and well marked moorings. WYC did not respond to VHF on channel 9 or phone (early afternoon). Someone did eventually come out in a dinghy. If you are expecting to pick up a specific mooring, be aware that there may be squatters sitting on it.
Nice facility, protected mooring, very quite. The steward was very helpful, a great ambassador for the club and the town of Wickford
They are a great bunch of people. Chuck made sure we had everything that we needed. I highly recommend a visit
very pleasant staff. but there being no launch service in the entire harbor was a definite negative. we only have oars for our dinghy and rowing to the village took 40 minutes in the calm after a horrendous thunderstorm. I'd hate to think how long it would have taken if there had been any wind.
It was a stunning visit in every way. Facilities great but Chuck and all members of the club we encountered we the true highlight of Wickford. Thank you!
For mooring reservations, bring your dinghy; there are no launch services anywhere in Wickford harbor. Wickford YC has half a dozen (barrel-shaped) guest moorings available, Just inside of breakwater and to the north of the channel. Very peaceful in a light northwest wind. Chief Steward Chuck was very helpful and courteous. Club facilities (shower, etc.) nice and clean. A few good restaurants/coffee shops near Town Dock, a 10-minute dinghy ride into the south arm of the L-shaped harbor.
Very safe harbor to be in during stormy weather. Never made it to land.
WYC is a lovely, but no frills club with a very helpful and accommodating steward who came out to our mooring on arrival to greet us. There are new, clean showers, a long face dock, grills and picnic tables that are available to visiting yachtsmen. The clubhouse is in a nice, quiet part of the harbor and WYC is definitely on our list of places we're looking forward to coming back to.
Had a great time. People were very friendly and inviting. The facility was very nice and clean. Can't wait to go back!
Great place with lots of very friendly folks. Clean showers and easy walk to a great little town.
