Transients welcome!
Founded in 1907, the Orienta Yacht Club is one of the oldest and most distinctive Clubs on Long Island Sound. We are located in the scenic and well-protected East Basin of Mamaroneck Harbor, easily accessible through a well-marked, deep water channel. Mamaroneck is a gateway to great fishing, sailboat racing, cruising and just plain “messing about in boats.”
Our members include both power-boaters and sailors who welcome the opportunity to work on their own boats, which is typically not allowed in commercial boatyards.
For transient boaters we have two moorings and one floating dock- attached to a mooring (with fresh water) that can rented through Dockwa. Launch service and showers are available during operating hours. The moorings are anchored fore and aft so it takes a bit more seamanship than tying up to a single point mooring.
The vibrant town of Mamaroneck is just a five-minute walk away to an array of restaurants and cultural markets.
Fleet launch operator Melissa was very helpful and pleasant!!! We enjoy the harbor attached to the clubs floating dock or guest mooring.
We had trouble securing our boat on the fore and aft dual moorings. Fortunately we had outstanding help from 2 members of the club, Hal and Chuck, who came to our aid and were exceptionally helpful and hospitable. Overally a great experience. My wife appreciated the easy walk to a good diner literally adjacent to the Orienta Yacht Club where we had dinner with Hal and Chuck. We are coming back!
Amazing mooring field. So peaceful and protected. Great service. Dino is awesome.
Tricky harbor to get into, but good guidance from harbormaster and great friendly launch service. Be prepared to tie up bow and stern - I needed a little help and got it right away. There's a diner at the end of the driveway [though we didn't go] and a Dunkin within walking distance. Really nice people and quiet waters. Recommend!
Very nice stay and super helpful staff. We even got upgraded to a floating dock. Will definetly come again. Firework for the 4th of July was amazing and best spot ever.
Well run operation! And, the town is close by; convenient for provisioning.
One of the most welcoming clubs on the Sound. Close to town with lots of provisions and restaurants.
Nice launch service and not a bad walk to a bunch of restaurants not too far away. Service overall pretty good
Very secluded from weather. Launch service was very good. Good bathrooms. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.
