Awesome service. Moorings suitable for any size vessel and courteous staff.
the people were excellent. launch drivers were great too. the only reason we did not have an awesome experience was the ahole couple on the next mooring on a green tartan 37, i think. their boat said mattapoisett on the transom, so they are locals. they arrived late afternoon and immediately started up their portable generator. by 9pm we were really ticked off and couldnt relax. they refused to shut it down. we ended up closing all the hatches and going to bed instead of enjoying a pleasant quiet evening in the cockpit and having nice fresh air while we slept. please make a rule against running these obnoxious generators. we really regretted spending the money and staying there but its not the marinas fault. i hope you contact those people. not that they really care about what people think about them.
Prompt and courteous launch service. Well spaced moorings allow for much more privacy than in most of the neighbouring marinas. Very picturesque.
They reserved me a mooring they did nt have available. When I got there all the moorings were occupied. They directed me to a second area. All moorings there were taken. The launch came out and took me to a third area. All those were taken. They finally put me on a non transient visitor mooring. Management is unaware of the status of their own facilities.
Mattapoisett is a lovely harbor, wide open to Buzzards Bay. We were fortunate to have calm conditions for the weekend, this is not always so here. There is a launch service, a dinghy dock, and a pub with decent food.
The boatyard directed us to the visitors moorings. The harbor is very nice, protected and very few fishermen to roll past you early in the morning. Had a great sleep. Visitors are directed to register with the Harbourmaster. Ince that is done, your dinghy is permitted to tie up at the public wharf free for 3 days. The downside to Mattapoiset is the lack of amenities. There is no grocery store nearby, no laundry service, both of which we needed. The people at the Harbourmaster office where very friendly. It is a nice place to unwind.
Our mooring in Mattapoisett was well built and secure, if a bit bumpy with the prevailing SW wind. Launch service can take some time as it appears there are two launchs to service approximately 600 moorings. That said, the launch operators responded promptly and picked folks up in the order in which they called. This is also a very large harbor. Personell at Mattapoiset Marine we’re very helpful and the rates were the best we received on our two week cruise.
Beautiful harbor, large secure moorings, friendly courteous staff. It’s not the Ritz, but comfortable (unless the wind blows from the southeast.
Friendly yard. Great staff.
Great Stay! Very nice harbor, not a lot to do ashore. We radioed MBY upon entering the harbor and were instructed to find an open orange mooring on our port side, of which there were none available. We did find an open orange mooring further in, on our starboard side, which turned out to be a great location. Took the launch service into shore and had an ice cream a the shack on the town pier, just a short walk away. There is not much in walking distance from the drop off point, the ice cream shack, a general store, an inn with a restaurant and a spa. The harbor was quiet and we had a great rest. My only real complaint is that the morning launch driver was going too fast for my liking and throwing some wake fairly early.
