Welcome to The Rudder Club of Jacksonville

Perhaps the best kept secret in Jacksonville, Florida, the Rudder Club is found tucked away under a canopy of giant oak trees along the west bank of the St. Johns River.

Celebrating 71 years as a Sailing and Yacht Club, the Rudder Club members have been boating on the St. Johns River since 1946. It is a family friendly place, where kids grow up enjoying the outdoors and the sport of sailing.

We have affordable dry and wet storage rates, a Pool, Bar & Club House and an impressive Social calendar with many social and racing events each year, including the Mug Race, billed as "the world's longest river race".

The Joel Shannon Junior Sailing Camp takes places for 5 weeks each summer and is a fun and healthy way for kids to spend their school vacation.

Own a boat but can't sail? Adult and Junior Sailing Classes offered throughout the year for beginners or sailors wishing to refresh their skills.

No boat, no problem: our members can rent a boat for just $11 per day.
