Safe Harbor Bristol

I am a member of Safe Harbor Bristol Marina in Charleston, SC... been here almost a year. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and literally everyone I have interacted with since locating my boat here. The attitude of "go above and beyond" is evident in everything that Sammy Landrum, Martin Mouton and the rest of the staff here at Bristol live every day. I thank God that I was able to become a part of the Safe Harbor family and do not want to harbor anywhere else. Please know what a valuable asset you have in the staff here... I do.

Professional and well done

We just left SH Bristol after an extended stay and can recommend the marina to anyone. The docks are in good shape, and help shield your boat from the ever present river currents. Wide fairways! All the Ashley marinas fight this current, so just be ready for it. As many have shared, the Dockmaster Martin makes things happen, and has a wealth of knowledge for tides, and the Double Drawbridge specs. We came in at low tide, and with a powerboat it was easy clearing the bridges. This is a Safe Harbor marina, and our concierge black card was honored without even asking. Bathrooms could have been cleaner, but it was off season. The marina sits right next to town, so easy to walk to Publix and a few others. If you know Charleston, you know it is a city, with city traffic and rush hours. Be prepared to obtain transportation for anything over a few blocks.

We planned to stay only a few days, but extended when we realized what a gem of a marina we discovered in the Charleston area. In a location whose marina choices are mostly limited to mega-docks and city marinas in disrepair, Safe Harbor Bristol Marina was a welcome change, reasonably positioned to enjoy the historic district, but also hitting all the right notes in terms of bathrooms, showers, pump outs, electrics, quality floating docks, and friendly staff. Manager Martin deserves special shout out as being affable, available, and able. He was immediately available for questions, shared his local knowledge of tides and currents, and took obvious interest in guests' satisfaction. We will stay again when returning to Charleston. Of note, entering the marina requires a passing of the Ashley Memorial Bridge rated at 14 feet at highest tide....readers should be aware, however, that the 14 feet denotes the LOWEST portion of the bridge and that sticking to the middle span and even playing the tide could add many more feet. The walk to the bathroom is long from the transient spaces, but after all the great Charlestonian food...its good to bank the steps.

We loved our transient stay at the safe harbor Bristol marina in downtown Charleston. It is very centrally located at the CHS peninsula and close to some restaurants and grocery stores. It is at the beginning of a "no wake"zone which makes mooring there very smooth. The dock master Martin Mouton is the best and very much on top of everything and very good and fast in his responses!

Martin is doing a fantastic job handling the marina. Always on the dock caring for his customers and always super helpful. Will be back!

Had a nice weekend visit! Given docking location and instructions via email prior to arrival. Staff met us on the dock and helped with luggage with a golf cart ride nearly to our hotel.

Could have not asked for a better experience. once we arrived the dock hand was waiting to help us and even stayed around to give us pointers on dinner and also what was in the area. Hotel was walking distance as well as a publix. Very clean marina and very safe and gated. we will be back for sure.

Martin always takes such good care of our group. He keeps us up to date on our stay, meets us when we arrive, brings ice and puts in our coolers daily, and assists us when we leave. He's a asset to your marina! See you next year!

Booked through DockWa on Memorial Day weekend. Dock master Martin was quick to respond that he confirmed our reservation and emailed us our slip assignment along with a map. He was waiting on the dock to grab the lines and get us settled in. Martin is very friendly and it was nice that he remembered us from last fall. The marina is clean and docks are in great shape. The marina is in a great location to provision. We look forward to staying here again.

Martin was most helpful upon docking. I did have issue raising marina on 16 though. Great location with Publix right across the street for repositioning

I'm writing this because the dock master at Safe Harbor Bristol (Martin) asked me to leave a positive review for him because the Safe Harbor Bristol marina recently has been getting a lot of negative feedback regarding his inappropriate relations with the marina's members. I personally have heard Martin speak badly about many members and many of us agree that it is best to avoid him otherwise you will get stuck listening to him complain about how his co-workers and manager (Sammy) "aren't doing their job" and "should be fired" every chance he gets! We mostly all do our best to avoid him and get to and from our boats quickly as to not have to listen to him complain about everyone — the members, the management and how he needs a raise but they (Safe Harbor) are so stingy so he has to work for other members in his off hours to make extra money. This certainly comes as a surprise considering Safe Harbor Bristol charges quite a bit for dockage! While we all do our best to be polite to Martin we all agree that Safe Harbor Bristol should be doing a better job in training their staff in regards to customer service. Many of us wish to simply enjoy our boats, not have to listen to the marina staff complain about their jobs! We certainly hope Martin gets a new, higher paying job soon and many of us have provided him with advice while he is on the search for a new job but we can only hope that whomever replaces him is given proper training on how to treat members, especially ones that know each other and pay to enjoy the marina, not to listen to the marina staff complain endlessly about other members, their coworkers and the company's leaders. His endless gossiping about members and downright negativity really puts us in an awkward place when visiting the marina and as such many of us are currently leaving to dock at other local marinas. Otherwise, the marina is in a great location but we all agree that Martin asking so many of us to leave positive reviews regarding his professionalism is indeed, grossly unprofessional and that Safe Harbor Bristol really needs to educate their staff on not only how to act professionally when in the company of members, but in how to treat members with respect and refrain from asking for favors, handouts and side jobs at every encounter. Please do better Safe Harbor.

Martin and the crew at Bristol are always the best. What I like best is the flexibility. We were coming in on Wed but the winds and weather didn't cooperate and it would have been unsafe. Things were easily shifted a day without complexity and with ease. Just another reason that coming to SH Bristol is always a pleasure. Thanks Martin!!

One of our favorite places to overnight. Staff is very courteous, Dock Manager Martin Moulton is seasoned and experienced. Facilities are clean, Publix is across the street, large park is close by for dog walking. Pump out available by pump out boat. The only snag is the Ashely River bridges do not open for boats using the marina. If you are sail (or power over 18’, check bridge clearance), try Safe Harbor Charleston City.

This is a great marina. Well run, great location, tops all around. It’s our new go to spot for transient slip space. Walking distance to a full service Marriott and a Holiday Inn are just icing on the cake.

Great service, people and overall great marina

Martin and team were so nice and accommodating. We are new to boating and they helped us get our boat docked and tied up safely. The next morning we were leaving and Martin was there to show us where to get gas and to thank us and wish us a safe journey.

This was a perfect one night stay for us while we were at the Charleston Marriott. The marina employees were excellent. Sammy met us immediately and helped secure the boat and went above and beyond to make things easy for us. Everybody was friendly, and the Marina was clean and secure. We will be back.

We visited this marina on a holiday weekend, even tho it was a busy time we recieved extremely wonderful service. The staff we encountered were super helpful! We will be back anytime we are in the area:)

My wife and I could not have had a better experience with our stay at Safe Harbor Bristol. The staff is so nice and accommodating. They are the reason we will come back year after year. Sammy met us as we pulled in to the marina, helped catch and tie up our boat and showed us everything we needed at the marina so that we could fully enjoy our stay. Martin helped us to reserve our stay and was in contact with us the whole weekend to make sure everything was going smooth. You never know what to fully expect, but this place blew those expectations out of the water. Thank y’all!

Great location and the staff was excellent.

My wife and I were transiting the ICW coming North. We had some mechanical issues and needed to leave the boat for a week. Maritn, the manager at Bristol was extremely helpful. He helped us into our space on a busy Memorial Day weekend, got us in touch with a mechanic and made sure we had everything we needed. While Bristol's "big sister" marina was just down river, I'll stay at Bristol anytime I'm in Charleston. Thanks Martin.

The 4th year our group (6 boats this trip) has stayed at Bristol for the weekend. As always, Martin did and exceptional job taking care of everyone. We'll be back!

Just docked for the night did not require any hookups. Stayed in hotel and left in the morning. Very nice docks. They were clean and secure. Dock hand was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

Martin was wonderful in helping us reserve our transient slip. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable and efficient. The marina is well kept, clean and beautiful. This was our first trip to Bristol and I am confident that it will not be our last!! Thanks again Martin!

Clean, well maintained and awesome dock staff! Was not allow in through the gate to unload. parking appears to be an issue. Understand the lot was full but just wanted to get in to unload, We managed though.

Slip was open and got in late with good instructions from marina.

Martin was absolutely fabulous and helped all 3 of our boats tremendously. We invited him to eat dinner with us after his work hours and he joined us. Russell and Branwell took great care of our ice and gas needs. Great crew working for the marina. We will visit again.

Dock hands were inexperienced, no fuel, transient slips are 500 yards from the bathrooms and showers, bathrooms lock at 8pm, high current. Will not use again.

Very accommodating! Because of weather, our plans changed up alittle. They did all they could to help us.

We docked our boat at Brisol Marina for one night and we had no issues at all! Martin was great to work with, and he even tied our boat up for us upon arrival. We forgot to ask for the gate code to access our boat early in the morning, and he responded to our message within 10 mins. We will stay again!

Out of all of the marinas we have chosen, we will not go anywhere else now. These people clearly know how to operate an organized and secure operation. We did a one night stay and were very pleased. Thanks you all so much.
