Welcome to Mattapoisett harbor! Brownell moorings are located in the center of the harbor south of the Mattapoisett Town Dock. Our moorings can be identified by their cone-shaped buoys, an orange top and blue band. We offer nightly or short term rentals. Harbor launch service is available from Mattapoisett Boat Yard May 1st through Columbus Day.
Founded in 1954 by David (Fred) Brownell, the inventor of the boat stand and hydraulic boat hauling trailer, Brownell Systems has been family owned and operated for over 65 years. Brownell operates a fleet of hydraulic boat hauling trailers, providing boat hauling, launching and crane service at the Mattapoisett boat ramp and over-the-road boat transport throughout New England and the Northeast U.S.
In addition, Brownell Systems offers a do-it-yourself boat storage yard 1 mile from the Mattapoisett harbor. Experience the difference in our clean and paved yard where owners and crew maintain total control of their boats and enjoy a boater cooperative atmosphere. Store with us for the winter and you can do your own work or hire contractors to work directly for you. Electricity and water access are provided to every boat, personal storage lockers are available for tools and supplies and restrooms and vending are provided in our captain’s lounge.

Every visit to Mattapoisett has been great. Cindy at Brownell is excellent to work with, the moorings are easy to find, and the village doesn’t disappoint. The harbormaster staff are great folks. Love our visits!
Easy to find (look for row of conical orange west of the last can ) , close to town dock , appear well maintained. Price is right.
Directions to the mooring was clear, the moorings were easy to identify and well maintained. The staff was very helpful with answering questions. All in in all an easy stay

Une petite ville charmante ! Nous avons profité du pump-out gratuit pour vider nos réservoir ainsi que de l’eau pour remplir ceux d’eau douce. Les indications pour notre arrivé dans la baie étaient extraordinaires, claires et facile a suivre. Simple et efficace très très apprécier après un passage dans le Cap Cod canal mouvementé!

Moorings are well placed and close to the town dock and it’s dinghy dock. On a busy July weekend all 8 moorings were open. The $35 price was reasonable, especially given that there are no additional facilities or services available. Mattapoisett is a pretty harbor. Lots of boats. It is quite large and would not offer great protection in a blow. Only downside is that there is really nothing in “town” at all. No services to speak of. One restaurant. For a quiet stopover en route to/from the Canal, this is a trap so able stopover. But for any on shore activity, would look elsewhere.
Cute town. Nice dinghy dock. Easy mooring pick up. Rolly SE winds but they warned us about that. Otherwise it was great! Nice town to walk around in.

beautiful harbor. nobody comes by to collect. these mooring rent on an honor system. they trust boaters so please be honest and pay through dockwa or call the phone painted on the mooring ball.
