Requests may be made on Dockwa; however, potential transient guests should be aware that mooring and dockage assignment is contingent on the availability and suitability of accommodations at the time of the proposed visit. If no moorings are available, anchoring is permitted in the southwest corner of the harbor, across from the breakwater, with permission from the Dartmouth Harbormaster. No rafting is allowed unless approved by the Harbormaster.
Beautiful harbor, great amenities, professional and kind staff
Beautiful harbor, but the mooring we were given had a pennant totally encrusted with barnacles, mussels and other sea life. Two of the crew suffered small cuts handling it. Bring work gloves! I expected much better considering the high price of the mooring. Ashore, the Club has nice facilities and the town is great for walking. Dinner at the Sail Loft was terrific. Farm & Coast market is great for provisions and food. All their bakery goods come from Little Moss restaurant and were excellent. Will try the restaurant for dinner next visit; I suspect it is excellent, too.
Friendly staff, good amenities, wonderful porch to read the paper with a cup of coffee. Launch service leaves a little to be desired, but it's the shoulder season.
We were at the mouth of the harbor in a northeast wind. We rocked all night from gathering seas with little sleep. Always ask for a mooring at the head if the harbor.
I called ahead to confirm availability for the Dockwa mooring reservation and there was no problem- the mooring was absolutely confirmed. A launch boat guided us to our reserved mooring that had a tall wire pennant, very easy to grab from our bow. The launch came back to take us ashore for dinner- lots of food choices within easy walk. Launch and office staff are very friendly and helpful. We are definitely coming back!!!
Very nice club in a protected harbor - easy launch service.
STaff was extremely helpful and courteous. My only issue is the mooring they assigned me was way too close to 62-3. In fact if the wind wasn't in my favor I would have run over the adjacent mooring. Either they shorten the pendant assigned to my mooring or do not assign a boat as long as mine at this spot in the future.
The launch drivers were helpful and courteous.
Very well organized to receive our small flotilla. Absolutely beautiful location.
Great mooring, great and friendly launch service. Wonderful, professional, and friendly staff at the NBYC. Dinner at the club was excellent. Overall a terrific experience.
They are very friendly, very helpful people at the New Bedford Yacht Club. It’s always a great place to visit, and Padanaram is a picturesque New England harbor. It’s also convenient positioned between here and there, or there and here, if one of those places is the west end of the cape cod canal.
One night stay turned into six nights when a non-life threatening medical emergency put a stop to our extended summer cruising plans. NBYC jumped into action calling for emergency medical services to meet me at the fuel dock and grab lines as I brought our boat in singlehanded. The local EMTs performed a textbook extraction of my wife with dislocated hip from a difficult to access bunk. NBYC worked with us to extend our stay while we coordinated with a friend to join me for the overnight transit to Maine. This gave us time to enjoy a first rate dinner at the clubhouse; great food and service in a storied facility amongst very friendly club members. Six stars for NBYC. We will return in the Fall.
Great launch boat and great gas dock and facilities. Very clean club house and very cordial crew
Great accommodations but $90 seems like a lot for a mooring
We arrived in terrible weather: pouring rain making nonexistent visibility, high winds over 25 kts, and whitecaps. The easiest dock was ready for us, and two people helped secure us to the dock. Electricity worked as soon as we plugged in. In a lull in the downpours, we put on our foul weather gear and trudged to a shop that sold milk and fresh food we hadn’t been able to put on board for our delivery. There was a restaurant nearby as well. The restrooms were clean and empty. The club was closed on Mondays, the day we were there. Convenient, easy to reach, helpful dockage.
Great stay! Great hospitality and facilities. Sarah and Russ were terrific launch drivers.
It's a fantastic Harbor and a great club. Professional staff on the launch and Fuel Dock. We enjoyed our stay and will visit again
Great staff and dining room. Visit every year we can
Great place to visit and friendly and helpful staff!
It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, easy to navigate to the marina and into the slip. A short walk to the quaint Padanaram Village capped off the day. The dock staff was excellent and the fellow yachtsmen in the marina were welcoming and friendly. The marina is first class - clean and well cared for. A special thanks to the waterfront director, Mark Dorman.
Very good mooring field, excellent launch service and charming club house with good club food
While it is very welcoming that the yaght club opens its mooring up to boats passing though. The launch has to bring you to your mooring at the time we came in the conditions were 14 kts and I was asked to drive to nun 8 and stand by . It was difficult as I have a blue water sailboat. The launch came out after 40 minutes and brought us to our mooring which was an odd thing kind of like a bumper with a pendant on it. But I would rádio and call well before I was in the breakwater
Beautiful place and we had a wonderful time, good weather
Very friendly and helpful launches, office and restaurant. Nice showers.
Efficient & Friendly Staff! Guided to mooring! Great Launch Service! Welcoming Dining Room and great showers!
Beautiful spot, top notch service. Launch met me and directed me to my mooring. This an A+ facility. The fuel dock dockhand, Grace, is truly professional and has such a great attitude!
Wonderful location, facility and staff. Generous launch hours 7am-10pm Showers are very very clean and roomy. Early in the season so kitchen closed today but great restaurant & market nearby. Highly recommend
Sept 21, 2022 we stayed in a slip this time and enjoyed that. It’s nice to easily walk to the club and town. Excellent showers and helpful, friendly staff. Thank you. 2020 Each year for at least 5 years, we visit NBYC. Always pleasant. Lovely facility, excellent launch drivers as we typically are on a mooring. Also great home made ice cream near the bridge. See you next year.
There was a north swell which is rare for buzzards bay. The NBYC assigned us a mooring out by the breakwater so it was rolls. We asked for a mooring closer in and we’re told nothing was available. We asked for a slip and we’re told none available. So we waited for the bridge to open and went up into the pond. The hbr master told us no anchoring but had three moorings available at no charge. We wasted $70 on a NBYC mooring. Not going back
Very friendly, helpful and professional crew. Beautiful club. Welcoming club members. Will definitely be back.
Lovely spot, very nice people and a great specialty market and wine store two blocks away!
Transient for one night. Staff treated us like members. Mark was fantastic.
Friendly staff that understands service and the needs of sailors. Always a pleasure to stay here.
Staff and club all great and thanks to the launch driver who pointed out the local ice cream place but we had a miserable night on an outer mooring. With the strong south & southerwesterly the motion was really uncomfortable. Would not go back in other than settled conditions.
Beautiful harbor and Yacht Club. Staff very friendly and helpful. Town is small with a few restaurants but good.
Great harbor. The fuel dock staff and launch service staff were great. Unfortunately the club was closed so we didn’t get to experience anything NBYC has to offer.
Wonderful mooring location. Felt safe and very welcomed on launch and ashore
Great harbor, NBYC very attentive with excellent launch service.
Outstanding club, world class accommodations, great and courteous staff, Mark goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is top notch! Throughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back and most certainly time to explore membership. Great work NBYC!
Good stay and great launch service. Only complaint is the mooring we are on was way in the outer harbor and being open to the East it was a tad rough.
Nice little harbor. I don’t think I’ll be back for an overnight. Extremely bouncy night. Really not much to do except pursue some basket shops. No beach. NBYC closed for Labor Day Sunday?
The staff was very helpful and welcoming. It turned out we had chosen to stop in the harbor when not only was the Club's restaurant closed but most restaurants in town were as well. Our bad luck, no one's fault. However, we were placed on a very distant mooring at the harbor's entrance and when the swells started rolling in, we decided to drop the mooring and head to a more comfortable stay elsewhere.
We arrived just after sunset and were thrilled that the launch greeted us and escorted us to our mooring. There was not a pick-up stick, but no problem threading the bow line through the eye on top of the mooring ball. We also filled our diesel tanks at their fuel dock in the morning. Plenty of room, great protection on the pilings and pleasant staff.
Beautiful harbor and club. Friendly and helpful staff!
Great help in securing mooring both on line and when we arrived. Hugely efficient and friendly gas dock. We will be back
Greeted by a very knowledgeable launch driver with 21 years experience at NBYC. He informed us of all the amenities (numerous) and recommended several places for dinner but the yacht club was our choice and happily so. Padanaram is a lovely stop for an overnight and to stretch the legs around the village.
Stopped for the night en route to Mass from RI with our new to us 42 foot boat. Mark was amazing. He changed our mooring the day of to offer us better protection and came out on his motor boat to help us with the actual hookup. Highly recommendable location and very easy approach.
The New Bedford YC provided a great visit to our yacht club cruising group. Safe, outdoor dining, and even meals delivered to your boat via launch, if preferred. A favorite harbor, as always
Dining room and staff isn’t being aware and following the governments laws for covid protocol. Staff isn’t washing hands, bartenders using phones, computers, etc and serving drinks food to patrons. Not taking countability in guests safety for out of state travelers. Kitchen staff not masked while prepping/cooking.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Facilities were clean and well stocked. Quaint New England surroundings. Authentic bells and cannon fire at sunset and flag raising. Would definitely stay there again but careful of the swell with strong SE winds.
Showed us to our mooring. Launch service was quick and reliable.
