Bridge Openings on US 31: Affects sailboats and large yachts. We have a 53 Carver Flybridge Voyager at our Marina that can cruise under the bridge with the antennas up and not need the bridge open. Most Cruisers can fit under the bridge. 2026: The last few years the water has been lower so the bridge hasn't been a problem. If you have really long antennas, you may want to wait for the bridge to open or lower the antennas.
If you need the bridge open it opens on the half hour, call the bridge tender while you are waiting for it to open. Call them specific schedule.
Other:
No commercial or charter boats allowed
No Air BnB or VRBO or similar are allowed
No pontoon or tri-toon boats.
-No Sea-doo's
Holiday Inn was great, friendly people, Randy the DM was great, loved it. Highly reccommended.
We had a great time at this marina. We ended up staying longer than anticipated but Randy, the dockmaster was very accommodating. Facilities were clean and they had free ice! It was a great stay and would recommend any boater to stay and enjoy!
We enjoyed our stay here for nearly 2 weeks. Our boat is 70' and they fit us at slip 39 (on the southwest turn). While we extended past the end piling, we had the ability to secure ourselves when storms blew through. The view was fantastic. Randy is the key person here who is responsive, kind, and very helpful. We enjoyed easy access to the restaurant and outdoor bar. Also easy access to Grand Haven via shuttle or bikes. Overall we were very happy staying here.
We recently stayed at Holiday Isle Marina for 6 days. The dockmaster is great, incredibly friendly and very accommodating. The marina facilities are great as well, clean restrooms, laundry, good electrical power (240V), and slips offer great views of the water and boat traffic making it fun and interesting. Restaurants are close by, board walk and trail, farmers market, etc. A short dinghy ride to Grand Haven or Spring Lake adds to the fun. We will make this a returning marina as we cruise Lake Michigan annually. I very much recommend Holiday Isle Marina.
Very comfortable acomodations. Randy is the best
A great spot to stay. Low key and access to all the amenities of the Holiday (pool, restaurant and Tiki bar). Close to Spring Lake and well off Lake Michigan is she’s angry.
Holiday Isle is a well protected marina. Randy, the harbormaster, was awesome. Pumpouts are available at each slip (although he doesn't do them every day). There is no fuel here. The marina is attached to the Holiday Inn so you can use the pool there. There is also a restaurant on site and others within walking distance. It is a 2 mile walk to the Grand Haven Social District. Be aware that there is a railroad swing bridge and a draw bridge with a clearance of about 25 feet between Lake Michigan and this marina. The fixed docks are in good condition.
As always, Randy was very helpful and accommodating! Love dealing with him!
Randy was great , very helpful and accommodating.
Loved every minute of our stay at the marina! Randy and our dock neighbors helped make sure our stay was excellent. We will definitely be staying at the marina again very soon!
Randy helped us get a dock to fit our boat! Very nice facilities, clubhouse, pool, hot tub, tiki bar, ice machine and beautiful area! Thank you!
Great smaller Marina. All the Hotel amenities available- Tiki Bar. Clean modern restrooms/showers and coffee at the Lounge. Randy-Dockmaster was accomodating and helpful. Trolleys for transportation to local sites/restaurants or to downtown Grand Haven. Had a wonderful stay and would come back. One draw bridge to Spring Lake, only small draw back for a S/V.
Every now and again you come across a marina that truly cares. Small details such as well kept up grounds and clean facilities to larger unexpected surprises such as restrooms that well airconditioned, a large ice machine with free ice and full time dock owners that are not only friendly but they also lend a helping hand. The attached Holiday Inn has a very nice pool, with a tiki bar and live music on the weekends. My compliments ! Tom and Janine Smith M/Y AGAPE
Harbormaster, Randy, was outstanding and attentive despite being off duty. Great customer service! Boater facilities were clean and nice. Trolley transportation to-from downtown was easy, inexpensive and convenient. Hotel staff was attentive. Unfortunately the power to the hotel was out during our short stay (not their fault) which meant no ability to use amenities like pool, restaurant, laundry, ice, etc. Would definitely stay here again!
