I purchased a boat from an individual which had a slip rented here. I figured the easiest thing for me to do would be just to stay there and rent out the same slip. It turned out the guy I bought the boat from had not paid five months worth of rent so Hidden Cove personnel welded a bar across the slip so I could not even take my boat out for a test drive even after I gave them a copy of my drivers license and authorized them to ding my credit card each month for the slip rental. The guy ended up paying the marina in full for the past due amount and the marina personnel would still not remove the bar across my slip. They stated they thought I was trying to run a scam whereby I would get the boat out and then the previous owner would dispute his credit card transaction. The very first impression they had of me was that I was a criminal even though I had paid a deposit, paid the pro-rated amount to finish off the month and they had a copy of my ID. This place is low class. As a CPA I have seen many crazy things in business from embezzlement to bribery, but I have never seen a business assume someone is a criminal the minute the step in the door. STAY AWAY from this place !
