Vineyard Haven Harbor |
Diesel $3.90
Brand: ShellGas Regular $4.30
Brand: Shell; Octane: 87;Originally named Holms Hole, Vineyard Haven was the last home port of Joshua Slocum and his yacht Spray. It also was a historic anchorage for coastal sailing ships waiting for a favorable wind and tide. Today Vineyard Haven is the home of classic sailing yachts, boat builders, bakeries, restaurants, car rentals, bicycle rentals, supermarket, and year-round ferry services to the mainland. All of this is within walking distance of our docks. Airport, golf courses, galleries and farmer’s markets are reached by regular bus service or taxi. This is a convenient port for visiting, crew changes and reprovisioning. We can also act as a mail drop. Vessels from 25 – 270 ft draft to 12ft.
Fuel Dock is opened when the Flag is Up, 0800 - 1700 high season. High flow nozzle available for speedier tank fills. Bulk fueling of 2000 gals or more can be accommodated on request. North Wharf is a sister fuel dock in Edgartown.
Note: Harbor is exposed to wind and waves from North to Northeast. You may be advised to move your vessel, or the docks may be closed for the safety of vessels and facilities. Consider this in your passage planning.
Cancellation In 2022 we instituted a full refund policy for all schedule adjustments due to weather. As weather changed plans for some it also opened berths for others. Make cancellations as early as possible and/or by mid-day so that others can avail of the opportunity. Likewise, check in with us or Dockwa at mid-day for late availability. This policy is reviewed regularly.
Great location, safe harbor, easy access, great communication, improvements needed on facilities (no bathroom)
We love coming to this facility, with town access
Unfortunately the bathroom and showers are a Long Walk from the west dock where we were staying
Staff was great and it was very easy-in and easy-out. We would stay there again.
Always a pleasure. Looking forward to our return.
The only docks on the island that can safely accommodate a 50m. Staff is great and the pier is private. Our new home on the island!
Great value. Everyone there was helpful and cooperative. We definitely needed to use the fender boards that they have there. We stayed at the wharf to the east which has an address of 158 Beach Road. We needed to know that for our ride pick up. We have a 28' boat so we had to climb up to the dock. No problem for us, but we picked up our elderly passengers at a different dock just to be safe. Won't hesitate to stay there again.
Vineyard Haven is a busy harbor. Tisbury Wharf has some small cruise ships in and out that are not ideal neighbors but when they are gone it’s a great location. Craig and crew are very friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to provide a place to have an urgent zoom meeting.
Great location. Staff helped us with docking and were very helpful. I Was happy that i read the reviews in advance about the docks so that we were prepared with fender boards. Marina also has some you can borrow.
Friendly place away from the bustle of town. A little quieter with nice docks and friendly staff
Not like it was. No bumper guards on the pilings. Good friendly, inexperienced kids on the dock. The worst fender boards ever. Completely deflated.
Before arriving we called the marina to let them know that we will arrive soon, and the person who answered the phone told us that marina will be closing at 6:00 pm. When we arrived the only person there was the fuel dock’s worker. The dock master was not there, and the docks don’t have any protection on it. They have polls no finger docks. The person in charge show up next they to told us that we need to move because they have a bigger boat coming. They blocked our view, the internet never work and the bathroom were horrible. They charged us for the service they never provided.
This was last minute in July so I was lucky to be able to reserve a 2 day stay. The other marinas in town were full. Even tho the other two wharves closer to the main offce did not fill up, we were placed on the farthest West pier which required a decent walk to get to the facilites.Told to slide forward because other boats were coming in however only one other boat came in and was on the other side. We saw a dock hand upon our arrival who met us in response to our radio call and then never saw anyone again. The pier has no fenders or protection on the pilings and because it is a fixed pier required contant attention to the fenders as the tide changed - even with the minimal 2' range. Only on the last evening did I disscover a cache of fender boards in a pile that I was able to rig on a piling that worked a lot better than my single ball fenders. It just would have been nice to have been made aware of them by the dock hand. The shower/head building seemed pretty new and clean. The harbor is great and the wharf company is well situated . I would have roamed more if I hadn't been worried about fending off from the pier. To be fair the weather was varible and the wind kept things moving more than I'm sure , the usual. A relatively minor fix to the wharfs by adding protection on the outside would go a long way.
Great spot in VH harbor - fuel dock, clean facilities, helpful staff !
Very nice people, very accommodating. Easy walk to town and nice restaurants.
Craig was a very accommodating host. Will definitely come back.
Great location and views. Very convenient to town Nice staff Facilities were very far from our dock though
Small and charming. It has fuel, water, and power but not much in the way of heads or showers. A nice contrast to the more POSH Edgartown.
Nice location, however there was 1) no water available when arrived( irrigation hose brought over from other pier, 2) no docks to tie up to(just wooden piers without any protection), no shower or bathroom facilities( public facility 1/4 mile away at harbormaster dock, and finally was awoken at 7:30am to a cruise ship docking at our pier proceeded by crew and a hundred(s) of passengers swarming next to us.
Craig is very helpful and nice. But Slip is against unpadded pier pilings. Cruise ship ties up and unloads on the pier.
We love Tisbury Wharf Company. Terrific staff. The marina is quiet. Peaceful. Relaxed. An easy walk to restaurants, movie theater, and downtown Vineyard Haven.
Restrooms and showers were out of commission. Constant surge at dock.on the plus side. Very friendly staff
This is our third year in a row staying at Tisbury Wharf. Mariah and her team are always helpful and welcoming. We appreciate that they check in on us each day. Convenient spot to catch the bus and walk to restaurants while enjoying peaceful evenings at the dock. Thank you for always making our stays so enjoyable! Joie de Vivre
Mariah and her Team are the best. Always responsive and willing to Help.
Great staff…Ready for us at the dock. Nice and quiet with very easy access to town and restaraunts! We will definitely be back
We always love to dock here due to location and professional staff.
A delightful six days at Tisbury Wharf. We enjoy staying in Vineyard Haven with it's quiet laid back attitude and access to rental cars and provisions only a short walk away. Will return next year!
The staff was very attentive. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The VTA will pick you up and drop you off right out front. 2’ tide easy to fend off stationary docks. Be prepared to fender horizontally. Thanks we will definitely be back.
Very considerate and accommodating
Excellent stay! The team at TWC are A++. They met us at the dock, helped us tie up, and were friendly and supportive whenever we had a question or needed ice. The facilities are clean and neat, but basic. We were on West Dock. It's a pier with great power and water, but that's it. It's close to town, good restaurants within easy walking distance, and relatively quiet. We would definitely stay again.
Great place to stay. Right on beach. Can walk to restaurants and town. They do not have floating docks wasn’t too bad getting on and off the boat. Would definitely stay there again.
Staff was very helpfully and friendly. The facilities were COVID locked so no shower or head as advertised. Location is brutal with any northerly blow. You will need fender boards and lot of lines! Located in a more commercial area, there are few people Around the marina. A short walk to the ferry landing and great eats.
Dock was too high for our boat—there was no ladder. Treacherous getting on and off. Slipped an almost fell in water in am when boat was wet. After a lovely man helped us tie up—there was no one around again. Couldn’t get a wifi password, called numerous times and no answer, desperately wanted to move to other dock (despite the giant cruise ship)—everyone MIA. We have stayed here in past on different dock and all was fine. Would not go back again unless we could be on lower dock
Very nice marina. Very friendly and help staff. Clean private bathrooms. Walking distance to some very good restaurants. Just one suggestions on the docks.... could use rubber on the pilings especially on the windy days....
Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly team of people. They can help as little or as much as you need. Very clean facilities. Other dock service people could take a lesson from these folks. We can all do without crusty and cranky dock masters.
The staff is outstanding ! Central location . The showers are spartan + clean with copious hot water . We will definitely return ⚓️
This is a very lean and mean operation. The location is good and the price is an advantage over most others in the wharf but there are no frill! It comprises the dock, power and water which for us worked very well. I will add that the staff was very helpful and courteous as well.
Great docks, wonderful service. they were very accommodating and flexible, i cancelled other options to stay there longer.
I was pleasantly surprised on how beautiful a spot this was. This was my first time in Vineyard Haven and I like it more than Oak Bluffs - much quieter.
Great staff and comfortable wharf Ladders to deal with tide would be helpful
staff is friendly with great service. Only issue - they have no barrier, so when the wind came from North we were bouncing like hell.
Great all girl crew at the marina, they couldn’t do enough, Noreen, Haily Sam and Maranda , the best trained and friendliest dock hands I’ve ever seen .
The staff were very nice and helpful, but we did not really enjoy our stay and won't be back. We were put in the 'beach facing' dock in front of the bigger ships facing the beach which put us 15 ft from the sand. As the weather changed - we got tossed around pretty good as the waves build up right under us before hitting the beach. Constantly had to keep re-adjusting fenders and still got a few dents on our 50ft. Also the 'beach dock' is a hike to the bathrooms - you have to walk on the main road without a sidewalk as it is not connected to the main marina facilities. And then - even as the description said there is pump-out services - when we asked - they said they don't offer it. The proximity of the shopping center across the street was nice.
Enjoyed our stay. Staff is great, lead by Noreen. She called before we got there confirming our eta, and was very helpful with places to go and how to get around. She went beyond regular service to make sure our stay was nice. Other dock staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Facilities were clean and nice. We preferred the location as it was not too busy and not in the heart of the “action”. The nights were quiet and view of harbor outstanding.
Everything was great except we were docked next to a huge “cruse ship” so felt more like marina for commercial ships than recreational boaters
First time visitor & we'll be back. Noreen was very helpful and patient answering our questions prior to booking, and Mariah and the dock staff were ready & waiting upon our arrival. They had us tied up, connected to power, water & WiFi within minutes. Bathrooms were a bit dated but clean & completely functional. Access to the dock from the harbor was easy for our 50' boat, but given we were on the fuel dock, I could see how it could get a bit congested at times. Access to island buses, restaurants, etc. was just a few minute walk.
We loved Tisbury Wharf Co. They were welcoming and fit us in when our original plans for a mooring elsewhere changed. We ended up being happy that our first plan did not work out because this was the perfect marina for us. All the services were fine, and the bathrooms and showers were clean and spacious. It was awesome to be able to walk across the street to catch the #13 bus to Oak Bluffs. They gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and answered any questions we had. We will be back soon! It's our new favorite marina on the Vineyard. 2018 Update: Another fabulous stay. Still a five-star spot. Great view and services with helpful knowledgeable staff.
Great stay as always- this is a great spot to bring your dogs. Clean bathrooms and convenient location with pleasant and helpful staff. We will return.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and on key code so never closed. The wifi was a little wiggy but worked for the most part.
The location to town was very convenient. the Facilities were extremely Clean. the Staff was wonderful, very helpful and accommodating.
