We reserved a mooring ball with no problem. We visited the large easily accessible fuel dock and were helped by Luke. Tied with no issues, refueled and then picked up our mooring. We didn’t use any facilities but walked into town about 20 minutes over a cute foot bridge l. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Great stay and we would return

Great little marina with friendly staff and clean amenities. Great on-site restaurant. We were lucky and stopped there the day after the completion of a 4 day tuna fishing tournament, so all of the restaurants had great fresh tuna. Cute little town- all very easily accessible from the marina. Will absolutely return the next time we are passing through!

Evan and the entire marina staff were incredibly helpful, resourceful, and friendly. They were able to help us with several services: refilling our propane, getting our bottom scrubbed, etc. The mooring balls were in good condition and the showers and restrooms were clean and well appointed. Boothbay Harbor is also a real treat. A wonderful smattering of Maine restaurants and shops. We’ll definitely be back to Carousel Marina.

We love all the updates, new docks, laundry, store, cafe, ect. Nice and quiet place to stay!

Nice mooring balls but very close together. Wind died completely in the night and had to fend off the boat next to us from hitting. Didn’t have a chance to make it ashore but the facilities looked very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful in directing us to our mooring. We plan to stop here again in a couple weeks on our way back south.

It was very good. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. The laundry facilities had 2 washers and dryers and cost was very reasonable. Laurel is excellent professional, very personable and informative. We reserved a mooring ball on two different occasions and both times it was pleasant and easy. Definitely recommend.

The mooring I was assigned was very tight for the size of vessel, we were feet from hitting the three boats surrounding us

This is by far the best marina I have been to on the east coast. Everyone we met was extremely nice and helpful. The owners Jax and Evan were amazing too. They even moved some other boats around to ensure we would be able to get out at sunrise the next morning. Even the custodians were nice! (I met one named Emma and she was very nice.)

Really nice marina. Restaraunt and the ship store excellent. The restaraunt is supper dog friendly. I think our dog got a whole box of treats during our lunch. :) Staff friendly and helpful. They asked us to move our boat to accommodate a larger boat coming in due to the weather and i appreciated that they worked to accommodate boaters in need. I think this is the nicest marina in boothbay.

Easy access to everything with our dingy. Good protection in a SE blow. Fuel dock and store were great too.

Nice spot. Was assigned a mooring with my reservation, but someone else was on it when we arrived at 1630. Staff seemed very casual suggesting we take one of two other moorings. Shortly after we picked up one the boat assigned to it arrived and the staff directed them to another mooring. Seems like the assignment/reservation process could be improved.

I stayed for 3 nights on mooring. I've been here before and this visit wasn't any different. Staff and owners always professional and courtesy. The facilities like the showers were nice and clean. Laundry room has nice and clean washers and dryers as well. I'll definitely be back. Very wonderful marine with great upgrades to the docks. Thanks.

Love this Marina, friendly people, family owned & operated! We would recommend this Marina, easy access to fuel, laundry & provisions. Short walk to Hannaford for groceries & only $10.00 taxi back to Marina. Definitely stopping here again💕

Nice dockmaster and grabbed a mooring with ease. Spent 1 night. Kim was helpful in pointing us to a market for supplies. Things do not open early. Beautiful area.

Evan and Jax’s greeted us and put us on their brand new slips. Carousel Marina has had a major redo. Everything is new and in great shape. Bathrooms showers& laundry. The store is very well stocked with item that any cruiser might need and not have a vehicle to get them to nearest Hamilton Marine or West Marine. There is a restaurant with a deck and perfect location for watching a sunset. Evan went out of his way to help us out . We will be back and for a longer stay next time. Very pleasant stay.

Marina is owned by a young couple with lots of energy, experience and personality!We were in mooring ball for 4 nights. Provision store is well stocked as well as the marine store! The Whales Tale Restaurant attached to marina is also very good! Fuel dock is easily accessible! We highly recommend this marina

Everyone is helpful and friendly. Love the new owners. The facilities are updated and clean. They have many shower rooms. The laundry room is clean and maintained. The docks are new. I stayed on a mooring for 4 days with no issues. Easy dinghy ride to marina docks and across the harbor to the public docks to check out Boothbay Harbor. I will be back again. Great Marina!

Quieter than being in town, and only a 10-12 min walk into town. Easy to take your own dingy across the harbor and into town. The downside were the amenities (bathrooms and lack of ice) and support from staff. They did not offer a water shuttle service as some other marinas do to downtown areas (like LM in Camden). To end with highlights again. It's quiet , well protected, and the docks are nice.

I highly recommend Carousel Marina. The new owners of Carousel have done an excellent job at improving customer service and the facilities. New floats, especially at the fuel dock, are another well needed improvement. And, they have the cleanest and most modern showers in the Midcoast area! Additionally, they have a good supply of marine items that can help you get out of a jam. Help support these young business entrepreneurs and moor your boat at Carousel while visiting Boothbay Harbor.

Carousel is under new ownership as of last year. There have been many renovations and improvements, including all new docks and redone store and restaurant. The new owners are a young couple with a lot of enthusiasm and go the extra mile to insure customer satisfaction. They took my propane tank for a refill and picked my wife up at the grocery store.

Staff was very helpful and professional. I only utilized a mooring ball for the night but it was a pleasant stay. Boothbay Harbor is beautiful and I will be back for an extended stay next year.

We stayed on a mooring. While we were in town shopping, the staff moved us to another ball. Even though they had both my text and email, they never notified me. They new ball was 50 feet off the stern of a 164 foot yacht and near a lobster ball which kept banging the hull.

We enjoyed a very nice stay at Carousel Marina. Evan was very helpful and accommodating. He taught the girls a new knot!

Recently updated mariner facilities (showers, laundry) are a plus. Pump out boat came almost immediately upon request. A bit more distant from town but you can dingy to the other side.

Carousel was accommodating we stayed the night on our way to Portland lots of traffic on the weekend and early morning lobster boats depart so not a quiet anchorage

The Carousel staff is professional and incredibly helpful to the needs of a cruising crew. Laundry and shower facilités are new and spotless. Large fuel dock. Moorings close to the dock makes Carousel an excellent place to stay in Boothbay. Easy dinghy ride to the town landing. Cannot say enough good things about Carousel.

Nice fresh facility with floating docks. Newly updated shower rooms, which could use a couple more hooks in each to hang towels, clothing, etc. Very reasonable laundry , $2.50 in 2023 to wash and dry each load. Easy to access fuel dock. Whales Tail restaurant on site with very good entrees. Ship store on site had many things you might need for repairs or updates to your boat. Snacks and some basic food items in store as well. Only con was attentiveness of dock hands and someone to check out items in Ships Store.

Great people great location. New owner's have made lots of improvements and go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating.

Only used mooring and did not visit remodeled store. Mooring was fine. They were not answering hails on 9 for me or others.

Very friendly Marina. Took a mooring. Evan, Jax and Emma are great young adults. Newly renovated. Had a very nice dinner at the restaurant (fish tacos were superb). Nice laundry room. Plenty of room to tie up the dingy. Efficient fuel dock. We came to Booth Bay for provisions. Evan was more than happy to take us to the Hannaford store and pick us up to take us back. Dog friendly too! Only suggestion would be a launch service but that is not enough for me to give them anything less than 5 stars.

We absolutely love the Carousel Marina in Boothbay, ME. Jax & Evan run their newly renovated marina. They are energetic, polite and are very helpful in anyway they can. The marina has been updated with new bathrooms and showers, docks, shipstore and restaurant with great food and live music at night. A great place to stay.

Carousel Marina was a great experience! Mooring field was well protected and calm with occasional fishing boats veering through but with great awareness so little wake . Jax snd Evan were very chill and attentive if needed. Note no launch service but short dinghy ride into facilities including laundry, sundries and basic supplies! Whale Tale serves fresh seafood in its restaurant and has a pub area. We had live music both days we were here. Also noteworthy fuel dock is available and price was lower than expected for a touristy harbor! We would stay here again!

Easy going nice people

Perfectly renovated marina with all facilities you could need. Young owners, who are very friendly and dedicated. In our opinion the best option in Boothbay Harbour. And not to forget: surprisingly good food at the restaurant.

Easy in, easy out. A little rocky at night, but it is a working harbor.

GREAT LOCATION & FACILITIES : Nice, new, clean showers and restroom facilities. Fuel, ice and basic galley provisions available right on site. Docks have just been replaced. A great place to moor with all you need within easy reach. Slip facilities available as well.

I cannot say enough good things about this marina. From the last minute accommodation, to the sparkling clean and gorgeous bathrooms, to the brand new docks, and finally the great food at the attached restaurant, Evan and company have made this a marina we want to revisit in the very near future.

I have traveled the world on my Azimut 66 for the past 5 years. Boothbay Harbor is a special place for me and my wife. This early August we decided to try a new Marina in Boothbay Harbor. The Carousel Marina was our pick. We called over the phone for a last minute reservation hoping they would have room for us. Sure enough they were so helpful finding us a spot very fast. They had a crew on the docks ready to catch our lines and hooking us up to power. The owners and their crew were all working hard to make a very good impression. They were smooth and communicating like a team. After talking to the new owners of the Carousel Marina they have been the most friendly out going owners we have yet to meet at any marina in Maine over the past 2 summers. We talked about their upcoming improvements to the Marina as well as their marine store and restaurant. Very impressed with how young and talented these two young owners are and how hard themselves and their crew works. Can’t wait for next year to be back and see all the improvements and visit our favorite little town!!

The Carousel Marina is the best of the best not just on the midcoast or state of Maine but in the country. My husband and I every year travel from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Rockland and our favorite stop is the Carousel. They have absolutely everything you could ask for facilities-wise. Although that is not even the best part, the on site restaurant, the Whales Tale and Seafarer's Pub, is a classy spot with the best sunset view in the harbor and food. The real cherry on top to the Carousel Marina is the new owners, Jax and Evan . The young couple has done a remarkable job so far and recently purchased the marina. I am so excited to return back to the Carousel Marina and see what is next for them!

The Carousel is an excellent dining establishment. The environment is so welcoming, for both the marina and the restaurant. Jax and Evan were both really helpful when i came to the marina! And veronica was a great server at the restaurant!

Loved coming to Carousel this year and seeing the very friendly new owners! It is clear they are working very hard and can help with anything you need. Very clean in the store and great selection of marine supplies. Definitely will be coming back!

This review is a bit delayed, but, boating the coast of Maine is one of our favorite things to do in the summertime. We decided to stop into Carousel Marina and we were pleasantly surprised to learn about the new ownership! When we hailed the marina on the radio, we received a quick and direct response with directions into the harbor and into our slip. The two owners were the one's who tied up our lines we later learned. The new ownership is being lead by a young couple who is kind, motivated, and very welcoming. They have plenty of local knowledge to make your trip in Boothbay Harbor even better! Boothbay Harbor is a beautiful destination and we will most definitely be returning to Carousel! The new owners seem to have big plans for the marina and we could not be more excited to experience all of their improvements next year!

Surprised to be charged $10 for 10 gallons of water from the dock. Stayed on mooring for three days, came into the fuel dock with my dinghy and purchased 5 gallons of gas. Asked if I could also fill two jerry cans of water. The girl told me no problem. After I filled gas and water cans she said it will be $26 for the gas and $10 for the water. This was a first for me. Guess I learned a lesson.
