Tidewater is one of the oldest, well-established, yet most progressive, marinas on the Chesapeake Bay. As a full service marina, we offer all the facilities for the leisure boater, and take pride in our service. Our aim is to ensure your pleasure and satisfaction. If you just want to visit for a day or two, we have transient slips available for you to visit the town. Our staff will greet you and assist with docking, and give you all the information you’ll need to enjoy your visit to Tidewater and Havre de Grace.
No lights on fixed dock. Some very discourteous boat owners or yardmen. Long walk to office. Overall, not up to an average transient experience. Beautiful town however!
Clean and fairly quiet, given the end of the season. Enjoyed the stay.
It was our 1st boat trip to Havre Degrace. Came in for wine and seafood festival. At 8:30 am the next day we had a knock on our window asking us to move our boat so a bigger boat could leave the marina. We planned on having breakfast in town but had to quickly disconnect pack up and leave. Unfortunately never got to see the town. They did offer a free extra night stay but it was Sunday and we both had to work the next day so it didn’t help
Slip by bulkhead, parking lot was filthy with grass , trash and dead fish. Stinky. Restrooms/ showers were close and clean. Neighborhood was nice, with bars and restaurants. Decoy museum was fun.
Eric was a big help coordinating our arrival time, slip assignment, and navigation into the marina. There was readily available help with the lines and our slip was close to everything. Really clean individual bathrooms and a great spot to hang out overlooking the bay. Would definitely stay again!
Lovely well-maintained older marina near the heart of a historic, walkable town. A really nice visit. Docking was somewhat of a challenge for our 20 foot beam cat due to tight entrance and position, but helpful dockhand made it easier. Easy walk to great restaurants and there's a free trolley on weekends. Farmer's market next door on summer Saturdays. Clean updated bathrooms, showers.
No dockhand, had to leave before second day due to family issue, no refund.
You are away from your home port....headed south to South Carolina from Connecticut....you develop a leak and need help...don't go here...you could be the best marina in the world but if you can't help someone that needs help....what good are you
Professionally run and maintained marina. Bathrooms were best on the bay with private head/shower/air conditioning and extremely clean. Easy walk to center of town.
Nice spot. Very clean and organized Watch the entrance into B dock. It’s narrow
Always an easy stay. Well protected. The people and facility are top notch. My only critique is that they need to clean up all of the dead fish floating around. The smell was pretty bad.
Super nice people and easy walk to town and great restaurants
Quiet Friday because of the weather. All good at the marina. Great restroom and shower combo. Hope there are plans to do some planting and resurface the parking lot. That would be a good addition to a fine marina.
We enjoyed our stay, again, especially on the T dock (thank you). We shall return and, as usual highly recommend to others. Again, thank you.
A well--run marina in a lovely town. Good facilities, helpful staff, well stocked ships store. Easy walk to town, many shops and restaurants.
Great stay. Super friendly marina right in the heart of town.
Nice marina, friendly staff, close to a lot of great restaurants, shops & museums. We will definitely be back.
The marina was nice, secure at night. People running marina, Eric was nice and Kyra. We definitely will return.
Nice welcome with clear directions and helpful, competent dock hand. Very clean bathroom and well stocked store. Plus excellent brewpub right outside the gate.
Very well run marina, nice showers and bathrooms, very easy walk into town. Great little store.
My main complaint is that TM had me dock up against a bulkhead that was between two rows of slips at the end of the fairway. It was difficult the dock because the wind was blowing away from the bulkhead. I thought we'd be getting a slip, not a spot against a bulkhead. I was upset with where we were placed and told the lone dock hand that I wanted to speak with the dock master who never showed up or looked for me. TM is basically a parking lot, with slips and individual bathroom/showers in a small concrete block building in the parking lot. Everything is clean and well kept (otherwise I'd give this marina a single star) but don't expect anything fancy. The town of Havre deGrace is nice and we had dinner at a great Italian restaurant called La Cucina which I highly recommend. The only way to get to Havre deGrace is by way of a longish channel, running basically north and south and at parts it's narrow with very shallow water alone the sides. It took us about 30 minutes to reach the bay at about 5 knots fighting a current.
Great facility with all the needed amenities and supplies. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very convenient and lively location in Havre de Grace. Thanks for an enjoyable week at your marina!
5 stars every stay. i been comming here for many years. nothing but excellence. If you want to go to the best little town on the Chesapeake. stay at the best Marina.
Some of the docks are a bit of a walk to the office, but everything there worked as it was supposed to. Tight maneuvering in the fairways but good instructions coming in.
Well run. Good facilities. Good communications, directions inbound
Expensive compared to every other marina around them. Nothing extra that justifies price.
Originally placed in a slip that was too small and would not enable us to disembark on the finger pier. Manager gave us attitude and complained that we had not given him our proper LOA. Whatever the cause (likely miscommunication through the app), his behavior was childish. We were able to move to a more suitable spot but it was outside of Wi-Fi range. Showers/toilets were “meh” on the cleanliness scale. HdG was great, will return, but not to this marina!
Nice stay at tidewater marina. Dock hand was very helpful and gave us city map. Close to town and restaurants. Bathrooms and showers could use some updating. Convenient fuel dock and pump out. Outstanding and helpful staff. Marina manager drove us several miles away to fill propane tank. That was extremely kind and helpful.
Great dockhands, clean restrooms, center of town and farmers market
Friendly people, great location and deeper water for sail boats.
Nice marina. Reasonably priced, helpful staff, clean/cool transient bathrooms/showers. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants in the great town of Havre de Grace. Only negative is that they do not have a pool...
Moored for two days. Slip for second day wasn’t offered until 4:30pm. Memorial weekend boat traffic was horrible. Roughest mooring/anchorage we ever had. After passing your boat the Waves bounce off of Marina break wall and hit you again.
Great Marina! Very close to downtown and the best restaurants!! Havre de Grace is beautiful, safe and quiet!! Great stop and great Marina!!
Disappointing. My wife is the boat expert and when she attempted to schedule the work to be done she was met with complete disregard and rudeness. The shop foreman had no time to talk to her and the yard manager treated her like a second-class person. Funny, when I showed up to request the same work no problems, and I was quite rude! Because of this, we decided to do our work in another yard, unbelievable this happens in this day and age. So many yards around willing to do good work I would avoid this marina. On a positive note it is close to town so...location, location, location but as far as I can tell that is all they have going for them, sad really.
Positives- The dockhand was great, she was helpful. The location was good, walking distance to bars and restaurants Negatives- The “C” slips have very little water at low tide. Floating and underwater grass packed every slip.
My sailboat is currently there for unstepping of the mast. It seems to be too much trouble for the staff to give me a courtesy call as to when they will be performing the work. I've never seen a mast removed and would like to watch. As of today I can not recommend this marina, hopefully they will get their collective heads out of their four points of contacts. I will update this review if the communications get better but so far I rate this marina with a big D-
Nice facilities and the staff was extremely pleasant. Great town with everything walking distance
Absolutely wonderful stay. Staff helpful and pleasant. Marina is in walking of everything. We will definitely be back. TC
Great access to downtown, only reason for not getting a 5 is no food on site.
Very friendly staff and the bathrooms were absolutely spotless! We will be coming back !
Marina was clean, dock hands were friendly. But everyone leaves the grounds at night, meaning you're at the mercy of the behavior of other boaters. Not always a good thing. There were a few rowdy folks that seemed to think it was OK to show off their boat stereos at 11pm with loud music. It would have been understandable (although still not OK) if they were 18. But they were more like in their 50's. There was no way to address this without a confrontation. This is where on-site marina management would have helped.
The location of the marina is good—close to the center of town. However, the bathroom/shower facilities are not that great. They could definitely use an upgrade. Also, when we went out for a short cruise on Saturday morning, they gave our slip away to another boat. We had told the marina staff twice that we were going out and we left our lines and power cables at the dock. When we returned we had to scramble to get some other lines ready and tie up at another location. We also had to postpone our lunch plans, because we had to wait for our spot to free up. We didn’t want to lose it again. Note that they only have 87 octane gas. If you need 89 octane, you can go to the city marina. It’s only a short distance south of Tidewater.
Very quiet and comfortable marina. Docks were in great shape. Basins are tight to maneuver around in (for a 50' boat), but it's doable. WiFi was fast, water pressure was great. Relaxing modest rocking from passing boats. Considered one of the mooring balls, and glad we settled on a slip - as we would have been rocked apart from all the boats in the river. Marine store is well stocked. On-site services available. Great location to walk around town. Bath houses are adequate. If we come back to the north end of the bay, we'll definitely stay here again.
Staff were very helpful with docking and communication. Bathrooms and showers were very clean and had AC. The marine store was well stocked. Best of all they had a courtesy can to help with shopping.
