Great stop allowing us to skip Newport and on our way again without losing time or adding mileage. A bit rolly. But a beautiful spot.

What a seamless process! The harbor master is very friendly and extremely easy to communicate with. Third beach is an absolutely beautiful place to tie up for the day and relax. One of our favorites in the area!

just as advertised: beautiful beach, convenient secure mooring at an unbeatable price.

Really don't want to write a review because that means more people will be inclined to visit this hidden gem of an anchorage. Great place for a quick stop over, or even a couple of nights. Protected from all sides except the East. Will certainly look to be back.

We were sailing from Newport to the Vinyard and had to pick up a mooring due to a special marine weather Forecast of 50 knot winds! We were fortunate to find a few empty ones in the mooring field. Good thing we did! Even though it was after 5pm the dock master confirmed a mooring for us quickly! Road out the storm and slept easy.

The moorings are nicely spaced. And although there was a yacht club with many boats here last night, they were quiet and considerate. We had a lot of rolling, but the harbor of course has no control over that. We do love the scenery here.

We like that we have to go through docwa to get moorings. That way people aren’t racing to get a mooring you might be getting. We love going to third beach and we’ll be back in August. Nice moorings👍

What a nice harbor with a responsive and professional Harbormaster. We visited with a fleet of 12ish boats from the Bristol Yacht Club on 7/12. Everything beforehand was perfect - info sharing, mooring assignments, etc - and when we arrived, it was trouble-free. The moorings were well-marked, the beach was great, and the small tent and picnic tables handy. The harbormaster was proactive in helping us understand the rules and ensure we were good guests - always helpful. We will come back.

Really nice marina on a day with gentle winds!

A great spot to ride out the storm. I usually anchor, but the mooring (only $20!) made fora very comfortable night’s sleep. Harbormaster very friendly & helpful.

Although we had a reservation thru Dockwa, it was not clear what our mooring assignment would be. Attempt to contact harbormaster via radio and phone was delayed, Harbormaster did return pnone call after 15 minutes, appartently a one man show for all of Newport?

Good moorings. Good setting. Excellent stopping point e route other destinations. Beautiful setting.

Great location. Looks to be 4 transient moorings. Only two recommendations are to put in the description that the transient rentals are red bottomed. Only knew that from reading harbormaster’s reply to other reviews. Also, would be nice to number and assign the balls in case you get there on the harbormaster’s day off and the balls are full with someone who hasn’t paid but is squatting on a ball. But you cannot beat the price and the location is really nice.

Beautiful setting. Self serve mooring field, but it is not clear which moorings are private and which are for transients.

The Harbormaster was there when we arrived to assist us if needed. It was a quiet and relaxing evening. We will definitely go again.

Always a pleasure to stay at 3rd beach. Plenty of space between moorings and clean water for swimming.

We moored in this beautiful cove by Third Beach. Hard to find a more picturesque spot. We could almost have swum to the beach but just jumped off the platform instead. Great spot for a relaxing stay.

Nice beach and good transit stop!

3rd Beach is a great stop for us, but the town needs to do better with its moorings. They were always first come, but two weeks ago we found they were all reserved. So be it, we anchored, after being tossed of a mooring by the harbor master. This time, we reserved on DOCKWA, but on arrival, no call to the harbor master was answered. So without him there, if the (reserved) moorings are otherwise occupied, then what? Plus, if you reserve, you pay, but if you just pick up a mooring, no one comes to collect the fee. Do it one way or the other, please.

All was great except we were not aware that we needed to pick up a red bottomed mooring. I didn’t see that info or instruction on Dockwa. We ended up on a blue and white mooring. But otherwise we love Third Beach!

Love 3rd beach . Harbor master was not available . Had the place to ourselves

The beach is nice. The moorings are marked as rentals. The harbor master is nice and came by in the morning to check that we made a reservation. I wish you were assigned a ball number incase you get in find there no balls available. We were told to just take anyone that was open. I could see how you could come in and find none available. There were a number taken by folks for a short while. We were told we could dinghy to shore and leave our dinghy on shore away from the swimming area. There is no dinghy mooring or dock. There is no dumpster, water, or any amenities. Great place to chill for a day or so. The parking at third beach is for residents only. There is public parking further up the beach at Peabody beach. There is no overnight parking.

2023. We couldn’t find a town mooring as the wind was strong so we ended up on a private mooring. We notified the harbor master. Stayed the night. Safe and sound. Thanks. 2022. Only 4 stars as there are limited facilities. Nice mooring field with large pennants. Very quiet night. Can be rolly during the day due to wakes on the River. We will return. Thanks.

Great, quiet spot, mooring gear well maintained, quick response from HM ona Friday night.

We went to look for a mooring Saturday and no mooring was open. My guess is someone hooked up that didn't have a reservation. Harbor Master was not there. Called non-emergency police and they didn't have any Information. Had to leave a voice mail with secretary to chief. No one called us back. Had to motor back to goat island in dark. Horrible experience. Would like a refund!!

Lovely spot, mooring balls not so easy to ID amid a large mooring field, harbormaster claimed he never received our prepaid reservation via Dockwa but generally responsive / helpful. Will be back.

A beautiful, quite and peaceful Cove. Great mooring no noise from any towns. A true gem to stop at if you plan to wine and dine on your boat. We will diffinitely be back here on future cruises.

Great stop over on the way to Buzzards Bay. Very friendly harbormaster. There is no dinghy dock, so you have to drag the dinghy on shore. Nice beach.
