Marina staff is excellent! Marina is located In a quiet neighborhood lined with moss covered live oaks. Marker 244 has good food and service. Marina keeps some supplies in the marina store and ACE Hardware and West Marine is about a mile away.

Great stay again at Port Royal Landing. Facilities are nice, staff is super helpful and we walked and rode bikes down to Port Royal town which was cute. We had lunch at Fish Camp on 11th Ave which was beautiful (food ok), and then had coffee and breakfast at the Corner Perk coffee shop which was great. Beaufort is an uber ride away, but we did t miss it! Thanks for a great stay!

The marina is modern and in great shape. The staff members are friendly and helpful! The only disappointment, and it was a big one, was that the restaurant was closed for a special event. The restaurant was one reason we stayed here on our way to Beaufort Marina. We arrived mid-afternoon hot and ready for a drink at the bar! I don't know if Marker 244 is owned by the marina, so I don't want this to reflect on the great service at Port Royal Landing. Advice to all: if enjoying the restaurant is part of your plan, call the restaurant and make sure they are open!

I arrived single handing my 41’ catamaran and the dockhands did an excellent job of taking my lines and securing my boat. They’ve got a long floating face dock which also makes it very easy to dock. When I checked in Michele Clark, the Dockmaster, greeted me as a friend, not just a customer. The showers were clean and had two nice shower heads. The laundry facility was clean and functional. Michele made my day by coming down to the dock to cast off my lines at 7am Sunday morning! Definitely above and beyond…thank you!

Michelle, Max and the group were amazing. ALWAYS asking how they can help, great dockhands and communication. Location and facilities are fantastic with Marker 244, one of our favorite local bar and grills and easily walkable farmer's market, grocery store, West Marine and a lot more. This was one of the best experiences on the ICW

Bathrooms were so clean and nice as well as all the amenities! Loved getting to use the bikes to ride to get some errands done and everyone who worked there was lovely and very helpful. We stayed over Christmas so it was very quiet but a great calm dock and we look forward to coming back again!

I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at this marina! Michele and her staff were amazing, friendly, welcoming and always there to assist. Two reasons I am giving a 4 star rating are: 1. The showers need more privacy. The newly added curtain does help immensely. 2. There is no longer a courtesy vehicle to use or a shuttle to take you anywhere or pick you up after provisioning. A bit of an inconvenience for the next jump in our journey. Be cautious if using Jessie. She is more expensive than an Uber! Nice marina that I intend on patronizing again!

Another great stay at one of my favorite marinas. Michele was there to greet us and help us to dock even though it was pouring rain when we arrived. After fueling and pumping out we did shopping nearby. The next morning we waited for passing T storms before departing. We will be back in May on our return trip home.

Wonderful. Michelle called us about our ETA and told us are space was available and we slid in early and we departed minutes before the next vessel was to arrive. Dock personnel were friendly and helpful. Didn’t try the restaurant as we Ubered to Beaufort to explore.

This is a wonderful marina! The staff are all knowledgeable, helpful and happy to be there. The location is great...Beaufort is a lovely town. The setting is gorgeous. the restaurant is great! Both the marina and the restaurant are clean and well-managed. One of our favorite stops.

It was a busy day on the waterway and at the marina when we arrived. Even so, Michelle and her staff did a great job of managing the workload, assisted with our lines, and made us feel welcome! A special shout out to Max for outstanding service. The facility and docks are spacious, clean and the bathrooms have been recently renovated. Marker 244 is a great spot to grab a cocktail and a bite to eat. We will be returning soon.

Always a great stop. The staff and manager are always helpful. They made room for us after the dock assignment that was given to us at the Beaufort Downtown marina was not conducive to Tropical Horizons II and her handling characteristics. You can't ask for more friendly staff who really make you feel at home. Unlike some reviews we actually prefer the outside face dock, as it is an easy on or off. With regards to other boats, the marina can't do much about other mariners and their inability to operate their vessel safely. We have had a personal experience with this in Southport at the Safe Harbor there. Wakes were not a problem for us either.

What a great marina! Friendly, helpful staff, spotless accommodations, worth a stop!

We were placed on the outside face dock partially over the gas dock. This was an issue for to the string currents and the difficulty boats have leaving the dock. After fueling we a boat just missed us when he left the dock and hit the boat behind us. Wave action was also an issue in this location. We thought about asking to move but didn’t want the hassle after docking. We probably won’t stay here again.

The marina was in good shape and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a small restaurant beside the dock office that has fantastic food, reasonably priced. The only reason I didn't rate 5 was that the power on the dock was very poor. Only 208 volts and the dock breaker tripped so often we finally had to turn off the entire A/C system. We basically had enough power to keep the lights and refrigeration on.

We love this Marina and have been there 3x this year. Michelle and the staff are great and the regulars are very friendly.

Safe Harbor Port Royal is an outstanding Marina, located right on the ICW. Docks are in excellent condition, Staff is excellent, facilities are very clean, and on-site Restaurant is very nice. If I was forced to come up with a negative - it’s a bit of a hike from the Transient Dock to the facilities

The Marina is one of the cleanest well-kept marinas I’ve ever been in the staff is friendly and extremely helpful. I’d recommend this Marina to anyone.

Love this marina, first stopped here in 2014, Michelle and her staff are first rate. We try to make it here every year. Convenient shopping within walking distance, Piggly Wiggly, West Marine, Ace Hardware and CVS all less than a mile away. Great Farmers market every Saturday just 1 mile away. Great stopover for transients.

Michelle and her team are the best. They were so welcoming, knowledgable and helpful. Best marina on the US east coast.

The staff at Safe Harbor Port Royal Marina are good people. They've been at this for a long time and understand the needs of all sorts of mariners. Their sincere desire to be of help to clients is obvious and palpable from the first tie-up. Do yourself a favor and choose this marina whenever you can. DRB.

The docks are great, the shop, restaurant, and facilities are wonderful, and the crew is top notch. The downside is that we were in the outside wall of the transient dock and got massively waked by boats rushing home after the Beaufort air show. We heard that weekends can be pretty bumpy, but during the week is fine.

We’ve stopped at Port Royal Marina each time on our way to and from Florida. Dock hands know their jobs , and Michelle , I believe to be the dock manager, goes well above and beyond what we expect ! We’ll be back !!

We had a fantastic stay at Safe Harbor Port Royal Landing. Michele and her staff are outstanding. They provide excellent service and are very welcoming and friendly. The marina hosted a wonderful Halloween party with a low country boil and made us feel right at home even though we were only there for one night. Facilities are nice. Would definitely recommend stopping at Safe Harbor Port Royal Landing.

Safe Harbor Port Royal sets the standard for outstanding service. I wish we had time to stay for a few days. The marina staff kept us updated during the day regarding our arrival and the timing of the currents. Four staff members waited after hours for our arrival (two boats) and greeted us with smiles. This will be a mandatory stop on our north/south migration in the future!!

A Favorite "Must Stop" . We look forward to our stay at Safe Harbor Port Royal Marina heading south as well as returning north. The facility is terrific and the people are just the best. Michele and her staff great us by name and bend over backwards to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay. It's a short walk to CVS, Piggly Wiggly, ABC Liquor, and a fresh fish stand. We love the restaurant at the marina as well, and will continue to include Safe Harbor Port Royal Marina in our travels on the ICW.

We cannot say enough good things about Michele and this marina. Coming north on the ICW we received word of a serious family emergency back home. We started calling marinas in the Beaufort area for dockage not knowing the duration or our stay. When speaking with Michele at Safe Harbors Port Royal she said come on in we’ll take care of you. She couldn’t do enough for us even arranging with a friend to get us to Savannah and the airport. We’re still home. Checking in, she again said don’t worry they have us covered, take care of our family. We’d recommend Safe Harbors Port Royal to anyone. They are good people.

Great Dockmaster and team. First time we stayed here ( normally stay at city marina) and will do so again

Dec 2021: We've stayed at Port Royal several times and the Staff are always wonderful. Always come to help with the lines - current can be a bit rough. Premises are clean and not a bad walk to a local restaurant or two. Decided to try the onsite restaurant again - Marker 244 - service is good but food is still mediocre. May 2021: Been to the marina three times and been great. Excellent staff. Had the chance to try the restaurant, Marker 244, which is on the premises. My husband loved his meal, mine was mediocre.

We are an annual contract holder. Michelle and team are first rate. She has to taught them Well. Eric, Max, and others are always available for assistance when departing/arriving or for just a hand when needed. The infrastructure: docks, power, fuel pumps, parking lot and amenities which even include a dog park complete with bags are in excellent shape. This is another advantage of being at a Safe Harbor. They have the capital to make significant investments in the property. We are huge fans of the combo of Michelle and team with Safe Harbor and recommend them highly.

Marina sits in the River unprotected from wind. Makes for difficult docking and exit from face dock with NE wind blowing. Long walk up the dock to the building and facilities. Not much I the way of amenities to redeem it. Reasonable access to grocery and seafood store. Ok as an overnight stop but not much else to recommend it.

Great dock side assist. Clean, seems to be well maintained. Handled our group of 10 boats w/ease and proficiency. Pump-out right at the dock.

Clean and safe facilities. Well maintained. The biggest plus is the positive customer service attitude of the entire staff. Highly recommended.

Michele and crew are wonderful! Nice place to hang and pick up a little fuel. On site restaurant with good food. Helpful when docking and departing. Good power. Some traffic wakes but most slow down and are kind since it is a no wake zone…

My wife and I looked at several marinas in the Beaufort, SC area prior to choosing Safe Harbor Port Royal Landing Marina. The marina staff are extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming! We were especially impressed with Michele Clark who went above and beyond to assist with our boat and making us feel welcome. Kirstie and Gene were also very helpful. The marina is well protected, dog friendly, and has a friendly and supportive group of boaters. The facility is well maintained and has a great restaurant. We give this marina and staff 5 stars!

Appreciated the lift into Beaufort by Emily. Also appreciated the Thirsty Thursday hot dog bbq. Dock master Michelle walked around and made us transients feel welcome. Thank you for the clean restrooms...and the 500 Fitbit steps to get to them!

Our stay was wonderful! The marina is clean, well maintained, and in a lovely area. It was great that they had Thirsty Thursday on the dock. Personnel are very thoughtful and helpful. They are most definitely pet friendly. Don’t expect to get an Uber or Lyft to Beaufort riverfront, and don’t look for WiFi as indicated. Definitely recommend!

Stayed 2 nights there on our way north. Thinking about making it our permanent dock for our Sabre 48. Met some nice people at the dock and was invited to their Thirsty Thursday happy hour on the deck. Michelle the dock master was very helpful. They are updating the fuel system so hopefully will be operational soon.

Safe Harbor Port Royal Marina, for my husband, Mark, and me, is a 5-star property with a 5-star staff. The dockmaster, Michele, is one of the most welcoming and considerate dockmasters (and people) I have ever met. From the moment we started looking at where we would like to stay along the ICW, speaking with Michele was a breath of fresh air. She is responsive, warm and knowledgeable, not only about Safe Harbor Port Royal Marina, but about other marinas, anchorages and land-based offerings in the area. As well, Michele is an experienced boater, and, as such, a great source of information about boats, boat repairs and boat upgrade services. All this said, Michele does not work alone. She clearly selects and trains a crew that shares her caring spirit about the boaters who visit as well as about ensuring the upkeep of the facility. Her crew, comprised of Erik, Max, Emily and Colton, is superb, always friendly and attentive to whatever you need. Erik even helped me on his day off to catch my very first fish! Putting the above together, you get a true family feel when you are here. From Mark’s and my perspective, you cannot find a better place to stay the night, weekend, week or more, fuel up and/or dine. Given this, along with the beautiful environment in which the marina is situated for walking, biking, driving or taking a dinghy ride, we highly recommend Safe Harbor Port Royal Marina to anyone traveling up or down the ICW.

everyone was very helpful getting me tied up. i was single handed. my big complaint is none of the staff were wearing masks. just because you are outdoors it doesnt mean you cant spread covid. the restaurant at the top of the dock had all of the tables way too close. there was plenty of empty tables so there was no reason to sit people so close together except to save steps for the wait staff. in case safe harbor hasnt heard yet....there is a pandemic that has already klled over 200,000 people in the usa. wear masks!

Had a great stay. Staff is alway helpful and friendly. The restaurant Marker 224 on site is open now and very good. The only thing that could be improved is something they can’t control, and that is the wakes felt on the facing docks by boaters who ignore the ‘no wake zone’.

This was the absolute Friendliest Marina we have stayed in the 7 months we have been Cruising. Michele, Ryan and Tim, Max. Wow what a Team. Shower pressure, great, clean. And there is a Grill next door "Marker 244", excellent food.

This is our favorite marina by far! The staff is always helpful and friendly. The docks are in great condition and well maintained. Prices are reasonable. Facilities are always clean. It is our "home" on the water. We stay there as often as possible and recommend it to everyone.

The absolutely BEST Marina ever!!! All of the staff and even the owner Tom go above and beyond to do anything to help you!!! I’ve never been to another marina where the staff treats me like family and not just a stranger! Was always greeted by name and that meant a lot to me!! This is a great Marina. I stay here every year on the way South and again when I am heading North.

Service top notch! All marina personnel do everything possible to please transients. Easy dingy ride to Beaufort or Port Royal. Loaner vehicle is a big help. Busy roads, not good for biking. Office will obtain any boating item you need if you call ahead.

A wonderful "family" atmosphere. A number of live aboards so every Friday and Saturday evening there is a gathering, along with transients and others at the Marina, for a bring your own cook out and good company. Rates are reasonable with easy access along the ICW. Floating docks, ships store, shore side facilities to include laundry and restrooms; courtesy vehicle during business hours; half mile to West Marine, groceries and more. Nice people.
