At Two Georges Marina, we offer services and amenities that go beyond just another place to tie up your boat. From our dedicated experienced staff to our facilities located within a protected basin in a prime location on the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) – the difference is clear!
Two Georges Marina is located in one of the most beautiful water sports areas in the world. A clean marine habitat for dolphin and sea birds, the local white-sand beaches produce intense tropical water coloring, hence the name “Emerald Coast”. Located just one mile from the ICW in a large protected basin, we are just minutes from the only outlet to the Gulf of Mexico (Destin Pass) for 80 miles east or west.
Owner and Operator, George Fussell Jr. purchased the formerly known Shalimar Yacht Basin and subsequently renamed it to Two Georges Marina. Two Georges Marina is set out to be one of the premier marinas in Florida’s panhandle. If you are cruising the loop or just looking for clean convenient dockage at a great rate, then select Two Georges Marina as your port-of-call.
Very quiet Marina. Dockhand met us as we came in to our slip and was a great help with the lines. Facilities were all good and clean. Only slight negative is there was a set of steps on the finger pier between us and a neighbouring resident boat which made it difficult for us to get off of our boat.
Started a little rocky as they wanted me to tie up to fuel dock for 4 nights. After discussion with the dockmaster, he promptly found me a slip for my reservation! Remainder of stay was fantastic, included best fuel prices in Destin!
I had a great stopover at Two George’s Marina, there are some very nice folks there! Good communication, good docks, Nice facilities, And a couple restaurants that are reasonable walking distance. I ate at the Greek restaurant, And took a Lyft back, about eight dollars. Would stop there again.
Stayed one night while in transit to Texas. Wind was blowing hard from the north and was looking for a place that would be shielded from the wind. As we entered the basin at the marina, the wind practically disappeared! Stayed on the inside of the fuel dock by request. The guy at the fuel dock office could not have been more helpful.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the service provided. Great service and good facilities.
Very nice updated facility. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed your stay.
We had planned to spend a night at Two Georges, partly based on their good fuel price. Before we arrived we developed a vibration on the starboard side. Called and spoke to Roy, the yard manager, who said they would take a look. Within 3 hours of our arrival we had a mechanic on board to look and come on a sea trial. They squeezed us into their busy yard schedule for two short hauls, tying us to the service dock wall in the interim, and came for two further sea trials. Communication throughout was first class, and the marina and yard staff were friendly and professional. Highly recommended; with praise and thanks to George, Roy, and all the staff.
I wondered if everyone was new. No one used VHF 16 to access fuel dock or to contact for slip assignment. Make phone calls, then expect to be both put on hold and transferred. Odd experience, but a decent place. Certainly some more customer service actions can be put in place.
Finger dock was a bit short but adequate. No wifi - but the staff tried to get it running - nothing the 2 days we were there. $4.49 diesel was a very pleasant surprise.
Terrific water, clarity, calmness and beautiful blue sky & sunshine!! Jeff and Mike and Jeff and Melissa very friendly and helpful. I Was here 10 years ago .. it has improved/changed/expanded in appearance. Many, many, boats from 16 footers to 40-50 ft. Appears to be major boat service facility with wet slip, wet slip covered, and inside/outside storage racks. Somewhat crowded around launch area - close quarter maneuvering / w adjacent boats being worked on. Have equipment to lift/fork lift or trailer out 16-50 footers.
We have absolutely nothing bad to say. The slips were nearly full for the night but they allowed us to stay in their service slip for the night with friends in another boat on the nearby wall so we could easily get together to plan our Gulf crossing. They had help at the fuel and pumpout and we had Mike helping us at the slip at the same time. Even the owner came by to see if there was anything he could assist with. A local harbor host for AGLCA also came by to offer any assist. We were well protected from winds and very comfortable. The yard was very clean and workers friendly. We would definitely return!
It took 1 1/2 hours to fill our tanks with 580 gallons of diesel. The dock attendant was not particularly helpful and did not offer to help us with our lines when we left the gas dock to tie up to the slip.
We had a nice stay at Two George's! Micheal and George were great! They had a really nice deck area which was great for watching the sunset and the dolphins. Only compliant would be, the gas dock attendant was not very attentive. He did not even come out to help us untie after filing up but that is a miner thing and we would definitely go back!
Good place to dock for a night, power and water was good. Fixed docks Town is less than a mile away for groceries and the Aegean restaurant had great homemade Greek food. Owner was great gave us ride to town.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. The staff that helped us (Melissa and Mike) were very courteous and helpful. The marina was clean and everything worked well.
Wonderful people. Great rates definitely don’t miss
No radio to talk with us coming in We really would have liked help at the dock getting in and out but we felt like we would have been inconvenienced them. We did get another boater to help at the last minute when leaving Pump out broken No internet on our dock No laundry It served well to dodge the rainy day First they said they had a pump but then another employee said it was not working. They need to communicate better. They need to not over promise on there web page. I wish they would under promise!
We planned a last minute trip and Two George’s went above and beyond making sure we had a spot to keep our boat and trailer. Customer service is top notch. Will definitely give them our business next time we are in town!
Great marina. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy to find and really close to Crab Island.
Stay wash great, Shorty put us in a covered slip, parked truck 30 feet from the boat, trailer just around the corner (an impossible thing to do anywhere in Destin), ramp on site (small but adequate). Shower house was acceptable, I would expect they are on the agenda to be redone with the rest of construction that was going on (new owners updating slips and property). Will stay again when in the area. Thanks Shorty and Frank, very friendly and helpful staff.
We are cruising the Gulf Coast in a 40 foot trawler and landed at Shalimar Yatch Basin for a few days. The owners, Steve and Paulette Peterson are fantastic. The harbormaster, Vito, insisted on securing our boat and would not let us help. Great guy. They have a courtesy car totally at your disposal and will guide you to any place in town. Grocery stores and restaurants are nearby. They assigned us a covered slip in beautiful and clear water. Showers and restroom were clean and comfortable. We highly recommend this marina.
