2.5 stars… Docks are old and have not been updated in years. An upgrade should be planned. Dock master and booking process was seamless and easy.
We had a great time. Everyone was helpful especially Audry at the front desk. We will be back again

Great dock crew, you have 24hr access to the slip, however the slips are designed for taller boats so it's an effort to climb out of your boat onto the dock. This is why it received a 4 star instead of 5. There are multiple ladders available at the dock for your passengers to use before you put your boat in a slip
No help in docking. Not enough workers for a holiday weekend. I tried to check in and worker told me that no worries he would take care of it. So when I went to check out the worker there thought I never checked in and that I was in the wrong slip. There was no personal touch as it used to be as my wife and have coming there for years. No impressed with new system
we requested a dock slip between 4-7 due to the size of our boat and our frequent visits to Captain Hirmas. We were placed in slip 14 which made boarding and exiting our boat difficult . the slip was made for a much bigger boat.
They put my boat in space 34 which is not big enough for an 8 ft beam.The pilings were in constant contact with my rub rails and one piling had no bumper.. My rub rails are damaged and it’s Hiram’s fault.. It’s minor and cosmetic but a bad oversight nonetheless.. Been going there for decades and this is my first problem but hopefully they will fix the pilings or not rent to larger boats.
The slip finger docks are very short and not ideal for docking or getting in an out of a boat. The resort and staff were great.
They have almost everything you need right at the resort. Live bait and boat ramp close by. We put the boat in, docked at our slip at Captain Hiram’s and we’re able to walk to the boat ramp to retrieve our truck and trailer. Trailer parking at the resort. Loved the restaurants, bars and daily live music. Close to the inlet for some great fishing spots. Highly recommend. We will be back.
Dock master Lloyd was awesome. He understands great customer service. Captain Hiram’s is a better place because of him. Highly recommend the resort. Great Food, Live music & clean rooms. Thought I was in The Keys.
Dock hand was great but the docks are very exposed to an east wind
Food at blackfins is very acceptable and reasonably priced. The bars are fun with good music. The docks are old and the wind always seems to blow there, making it fun coming in and going out. You need experienced people aboard as there may or may not be marina staff around to assist. No fuel. Overall we had a nice weekend
The location is wonderful and we had a great stay. Only real negatives are that the docks themselves are getting pretty worn and during our trip the docks were not lit at night, which could become a safety issue. Great stay overall!
Expensive, initial price did not include electric. Not a real marina with boat facilities (fuel, maintenance, store, showers) it’s basically just a dock. No breakwater or seawall so my boat was rocking all night. Narrow slips with docks that do not extend the length of the slip. They Do not answer their phones. Do not recommend. The guys working the dock were helpful. They were the highlight.

Charlie the Dock Master is the best. He really goes out of his way to make sure everything is as good as possible for your stay. Always a great time at Captain Hiram's.

Cute little place with lots within walking distance. The room was perfect, nice little balcony for coffee. Parking for truck and trailer seems like it could be problematic if we tow the boat rather than travel by boat and overnight it at the marina. Would definitely stay here again! Had an issue with no hot shower water tho both days :(
We made a reservation for Thanksgiving for the buffet dinner and also reserved a slip to stay overnight. From the moment we arrived, we had an amazing experience. We met Charlie on the dock, and he was incredibly helpful and such a terrific guy. He mentioned that he and his wife, Jody, would also be dining at the buffet. Later, we ran into them and enjoyed a wonderful conversation with Charlie and his beautiful wife. I visited the little shop and purchased an ankle bracelet. The woman working there was so helpful—she even assisted me in adding a few charms I bought to the bracelet. We’ve since returned with the boat for another day trip and had yet another great experience. I would highly recommend Captain Hiram’s to anyone who wants to be treated like family.
Unprotected docks with short finger piers and rough water. Dock hands sent home early before We arrived at 3:02 pm. Black Fins restaurant was good.
Friendly place and very accommodating. It’s become an annual vacation spot for us. Highly recommended.
Nice stop for us, we have stayed here a couple of times. One of the only marinas in the area that will accommodate our 43ft Viking, water and electric was substantial and the restaurant was good along with the entertainment. Dock can use a little upgrading and it looks like they are working on that. Overall it was a pleasant 2 night stay. We will be back.
