We do not offer a launch service but you are welcome to tie up at our dinghy dock.
We were very disappointed with our experience at Woods Hole Yacht Club\. The club’s published amenities list includes dinghy dock access, and the marina information says that visitors are welcome to tie up at the dinghy dock\. However, when we arrived, we were told that we could not leave our dinghy there for more than 20 minutes. That limitation is particularly problematic because there is no launch service at the Yacht Club and no other public dinghy dock in Woods Hole. A 20 minutes loading/unloading window is not meaningful access for someone who wants to go into Woods Hole for lunch, dinner, shopping, or simply to walk around. If the Yacht Club intends the dock to be limited to brief drop-offs and pickups rather than actual dinghy access, that should be clearly stated in its published amenities and marina information. As it stands, the description creates an expectation of dinghy dock access that does not match the experience we had\. Woods Hole is a wonderful boating destination, but based on our experience, I would recommend that visiting boaters clarify the dinghy dock policy before choosing to overnight here.
Rating reflects the location and the friendliness of the person I spoke to on the phone. Location is an ideal spot to wait for favorable currents to transit woods hole. Ashore it is a lovely place to walk to the village and get some food at a small number of good restaurants. Reasonably well protected way to wait out some bad weather
