The team here is very nice, but they have nowhere near 8’ of water at low tide. Despite discussing it with them in advance we ran our 5.5’ draft boat aground long before we reached the pier. They were nice in helping us find a backup marina, but they should know their depth and tell people when they cannot accommodate someone.

Steve was very helpful and other boaters nice. The price was good and if you stayed four nights you got a discount. At night it was beautiful you could see the lights of the cranes loading big ships and a plane taking off from the airport. The water was not deep but we made it, drawing 3.5. Occasional tugboat wake. The restrooms were clean and the docks locked and secure. I would stay there again. Linda H.

The main draw for this dockage is the price. Can’t beat it anywhere in the NYC area. The owner, Steve could not be nicer or more accommodating. The marina docks are in need of repair. They were working on this during our stay. The MLW is around 5’. Would enter harbor at high or mid high tide. The wake from the tug traffic is a factor but not too bad, especially at night. Again the price reflects this. We have a 72’ MY so we were on the main face dock. New dock but still needs repair. Was not installed correctly (leans) along with needing larger cleats. When entering this marina line up the Green #1 with the marinas main dock for your path from the Channel to to marina.

Stayed at Elco Marina for seven days while visiting NYC. Owner just recently acquired the marina and is making many improvements to the property. Marina was great to help with any needs and made sure we were happy. Marina is very secure and within close proximity to the Light Rail and quit access to NYC. Only word of caution would been that the river is busy with commercial traffic so you can expect some boat wakes.

Really nice location inside the very busy NJ harbor. Can be a bit rocky at times when tugs are going by but the upside is the free marine show when a swarm of tugs turns a large container ship around right in front of you. We loved it. Restrooms and showers are very nice. The docks are new and the property is shielded by high end apartments and is gated. The owner is new and have not yet figured out how to run it so its hard to communicate with them by phone or Dockwa but I would assume that will resolve itself soon. They have recently hired an office manager that was super helpful and kind. I highly recommended the place if you like to have a different experience than the “Safe Harbor” /Resort style marinas. This place is mainly a fisherman marina and the seasonal people we met were friendly and helpful. There are good places to eat within $10 uber fees. Getting an uber to Manhattan is $50-75 depending on time. Make sure you are not waiting to the last minute to book and keep texting until you get a response to make sure they are ready for you when you arrive.
