Belmont Harbor is located in the heart of beautiful Lincoln Park and is one of the largest harbors in the Chicago Harbors system. A favorite among families and long-time boaters, the harbor is surrounded by acres of park space and a beautiful skyline view to the south. There are 818 slips, mooring cans, and star docks that can accommodate boats from 28-80 ft+ in length. Belmont Harbor is the home of several yacht clubs including Chicago Yacht Clubs Belmont Station, Belmont Yacht Club, and the Chicago Match Race Center.
Transient docking is available; please call for reservations any time after May 15. Belmont Harbor has a fuel dock facility, with gas and diesel fuels. Additionally, there is a mast stepping/unstepping capability at the Harbor Building (reservations required). Dry storage available. Waste pump-out equipment is available on a no-charge basis. The harbor monitors channels 9 and 16 and the switch to/working channel is 69.
Friendly staff. Clean facility. Loved our location/slip
Great harbor! Great option to be able to visit friends by boat who have permanent slips. Guest parking equivalent, but for your boat.
Great facilities easy procedure
Very protected marina. Close to down town Chicago.
Tried hailing marina on VHF 16, 9, and 69...no response. Called on phone and told no one available to help dock. I had messaged them to make sure we had a dock wide enough for our 19 foot beam and they tried to put us in a slip too small. Luckily one worker (Alex) was in Harbor on boat and directed us to a t dock. He also came over to help us. If it wasn't fir him, I would have given this a 1 star.
Beautiful harbor,. Much quieter than most of the other harbors. Friendly staff
This is a full-service marina with fuel and ample bathroom/shower facilities. The staff and harbor master were extremely helpful and accommodating. Can't wait to visit again!
Chris was courteous and friendly. Provided great customer service. Good slip assignment. Five star not given because: Bathrooms didn't have TP and one morning, two needed deep cleaning. Office staff not very helpful, seemed like I was imposing. (I didn't get the 3 young ladies names)
I had a great experience at Belmont Harbor during my stay. Chris from the Harbor's management was wonderful and helped with everything I needed. Quick responses and genuinely a caring person. I highly recommend mooring your boat at Belmont Harbor and will definitely go there again.
My slip was filled when I arrived. I had to use a stranger's slip who, thankfully, was not there.
Great stay - very much appreciated the parking pass otherwise it would be very difficult to stay here. Thanks - Andrew
Only thing we didn’t like was that gas dock didn’t open till after we needed to leave this morning, and we could have used some ice. Didn’t realize it was getting low when we came in last night. Beautiful neighborhood where we found a great little place to eat ! Bathroom facilities clean.
Kevin and his staff are extremely helpful and resourceful!
Great Marina - Very well Kept. Great service and great views of downtown and lakeshore dr.
The marina was Clean and tidy. Good walking distance to all attractions and great access to the river and river walk.
4th of July weekend. The fuel dock was crazy busy but the staff was in total control and handled the chaos like pros.
Harbor staff was helpful. I discovered my dock space had a 50 amp outlet, though I reserved a 30 amp space. My power cord would not work, so they lent me a converter, which solved the problem. Some of the docks were covered with bird poop, though mine was clean. Bathrooms were decent, judged by the standards of public restrooms. I think Covid has the park district giving them some extra attention. I've heard the harbor can be noisy with partying, but I didn't have that problem. In the distance I heard some of that. Lake Shore Drive made louder noises than my harbor neighbors and it sometimes sounded like drag racing out there, but part of the beauty of the place is it's urban setting and proximity to one of the great cities in the world.
Belmont Harbor has The dirtiest docks I have ever experienced. Walked on goose poop to tie up my boat. Not enough space between poops for even a step. I have never been to a marina that allows so much feces to stay on the docks.
Great location, bathrooms could be a little cleaner. Lots of friendly people on the dock. Wonderful walking, biking and running trails around the lake.
Beautiful! Very calm. Friendly people. Excellent docks. Downsides - put us in a slip with a 50 amp connection and we asked for/needed 30 amp. Bathrooms bordered on disgusting. People were swimming in the marina around the boats and security walked right by - did nothing. Ran into a large raccoon that was on the docks while going to the bathroom ~3 am. Mildly scary.
Pier E was fine. The gate on pier F was very hard to open and one of the showers did not function. So we had to get dressed and go to a different one. The latches on the bathrooms don’t close completely and if someone slams a door on another bathroom the latch can open. Most bathrooms do not have a shelf or table to put your things and the only hooks are too close to the shower.
Great harbor location for our needs. Facilities above average for local Westerec managed properties. Staff went above and beyond on several occasions. Would come back for sure.
Moderate price, clean enough bathrooms/showers. Can’t fault marina for other boaters that are loud or run engines for hours unnecessarily. Over all good stay.
We had to cancel our Diversey Harbor reservation at the last minute due to the bridge clearance. We rebooked at Belmont. When we arrived we could not hail the harbormaster, and ended up calling the harbor master at Diversey that was extremely helpful and got our slip assignment for us and access information to the dock and restrooms. We tried to locate the Belmont harbormaster and could not locate him to answer a question we had. The harbor was convienent to a number of restaurants in the neighborhood. The regular slip holders were very friendly and assisted us in getting us tied up.
Great location. Very nice marina. Clean bathhouse.
Stay was pretty good but would have rather stayed on E or F dock. We were on B dock with all sailboats that were rentals. Other than that it was good. Bathrooms were clean. Thank you Laurie Miller
This is our favorite Chicago Harbor of the 4 that we have been at this week. Great location, clean and all the amenities. We again had the same issue as the other 3, with someone being in our assigned slip and having to move at arrival. I don't get it! The Chicago Park District forces you to reserve slips through the Dockwa app and then is very slow to confirm and respond, if they ever do respond. I called twice after making the reservation and was told the harbormaster was not in yet. This was at 1PM. I had to show up, and track someone down to find our slip assignment. Then we get to our slip and someone is in it. I picked the closest open slip and called to find out if I could stay or needed to move. I was promised a call right back and never received one. The customer service at every Chicago Park District Harbor is non existant.
Jessie at the Marina was delightful....very helpful and accommodating.
