Belmont Harbor is located in the heart of beautiful Lincoln Park and is one of the largest harbors in the Chicago Harbors system. A favorite among families and long-time boaters, the harbor is surrounded by acres of park space and a beautiful skyline view to the south. There are 818 slips, mooring cans, and star docks that can accommodate boats from 28-80 ft+ in length. Belmont Harbor is the home of several yacht clubs including Chicago Yacht Clubs Belmont Station, Belmont Yacht Club, and the Chicago Match Race Center.
Transient docking is available; please call for reservations any time after May 15. Belmont Harbor has a fuel dock facility, with gas and diesel fuels. Additionally, there is a mast stepping/unstepping capability at the Harbor Building (reservations required). Dry storage available. Waste pump-out equipment is available on a no-charge basis. The harbor monitors channels 9 and 16 and the switch to/working channel is 69.
Belmont Harbor has The dirtiest docks I have ever experienced. Walked on goose poop to tie up my boat. Not enough space between poops for even a step. I have never been to a marina that allows so much feces to stay on the docks.
Great location, bathrooms could be a little cleaner. Lots of friendly people on the dock. Wonderful walking, biking and running trails around the lake.
Beautiful! Very calm. Friendly people. Excellent docks. Downsides - put us in a slip with a 50 amp connection and we asked for/needed 30 amp. Bathrooms bordered on disgusting. People were swimming in the marina around the boats and security walked right by - did nothing. Ran into a large raccoon that was on the docks while going to the bathroom ~3 am. Mildly scary.
The marina was Clean and tidy. Good walking distance to all attractions and great access to the river and river walk.
Pier E was fine. The gate on pier F was very hard to open and one of the showers did not function. So we had to get dressed and go to a different one. The latches on the bathrooms don’t close completely and if someone slams a door on another bathroom the latch can open. Most bathrooms do not have a shelf or table to put your things and the only hooks are too close to the shower.
Great harbor location for our needs. Facilities above average for local Westerec managed properties. Staff went above and beyond on several occasions. Would come back for sure.
Moderate price, clean enough bathrooms/showers. Can’t fault marina for other boaters that are loud or run engines for hours unnecessarily. Over all good stay.
We had to cancel our Diversey Harbor reservation at the last minute due to the bridge clearance. We rebooked at Belmont. When we arrived we could not hail the harbormaster, and ended up calling the harbor master at Diversey that was extremely helpful and got our slip assignment for us and access information to the dock and restrooms. We tried to locate the Belmont harbormaster and could not locate him to answer a question we had. The harbor was convienent to a number of restaurants in the neighborhood. The regular slip holders were very friendly and assisted us in getting us tied up.
Great location. Very nice marina. Clean bathhouse.
Stay was pretty good but would have rather stayed on E or F dock. We were on B dock with all sailboats that were rentals. Other than that it was good. Bathrooms were clean. Thank you Laurie Miller
This is our favorite Chicago Harbor of the 4 that we have been at this week. Great location, clean and all the amenities. We again had the same issue as the other 3, with someone being in our assigned slip and having to move at arrival. I don't get it! The Chicago Park District forces you to reserve slips through the Dockwa app and then is very slow to confirm and respond, if they ever do respond. I called twice after making the reservation and was told the harbormaster was not in yet. This was at 1PM. I had to show up, and track someone down to find our slip assignment. Then we get to our slip and someone is in it. I picked the closest open slip and called to find out if I could stay or needed to move. I was promised a call right back and never received one. The customer service at every Chicago Park District Harbor is non existant.
