Located on Bogue Banks which is a barrier island that runs parallel to the mainland in an East to West direction. This means we always have a summer breeze! Carteret County is rich in history with Beaufort, NC established in 1709.
Home to the Big Rock fishing tournament – the largest and oldest fishing tournament with over a million-dollar purse. Also home to the NC seafood festival – the largest festival in NC with local fresh seafood, rides and music during the first weekend of October every year.
Enjoy the NC Aquarium, local seafood, waterparks, and many other attractions with Ft. Macon State Park less than 2 miles away and the beach only a 5 minute walk away.
Beautiful park with amazing people. The reason for 1 star, and I wish I could give it zero, is because there no way you can enjoy the beauty of this place due to the two that run it. The two ladies, whom I will not name, are the meanest two people I have met in my life. They are disrespectful to those who reside in the park, and they post hateful Facebook posts about them as well. On their Facebook they delete and report any bad comments about the park, or any comebacks to their disrespectful posts about their residents in the park. That is not a way to run a business. Most disrespectful, classless women I have ever dealt with.
