Staff was very helpful with directions when hailed as we approached. Deck hands help handle the lines as we pulled into the slip. Two nights in a very nice marina with access to the Wentworth by the Sea Resort. We took advantage of the courtesy cars and enjoyed Portsmouth, NH.
Really enjoyed staying in Padanaram Harbor (many yachts prettier than ours) and at the NBYC. The welcome and escort to our mooring were superb (Thanks Stephen) and the launch was super efficient. Ate two fine meals at the bar and filled up with fuel before an early morning departure. Very accommodating.
Had a lovely night in behind the breakwater right in the town. Tom on the launch was a pleasure to talk to and recognized out '82 vintage boat. Thanks to all that make the harbor and the (challenging for a sailboat) channel work so well.
We had two great nights in the inner harbor. Fireworks, parade of lights and delicious dinners out. All of the above was not missed on a peaceful Sunday night. The Gloucesterman Launch now charges $10 per person each way so bring a dingy.
Gloucester Harbormaster was very helpful when entering the harbor and locating our mooring. The launch was efficient but covers a lot of territory so you have to plan ahead as it can sometimes take 1/2 hour + to arrive and may still take you on a tour of other mooring areas on your trip into town. Our mooring was off Stage Fort Park and quite rough due to boat wakes and even some swells later at night.
