Called on Monday morning to request a repair when I arrived, was told they'd have someone look at it that day. Asked Tuesday morning for a status update since no one looked Monday, they again said they'd send someone today. Asked Wednesday morning for an update & was again told someone would be out today, but that they may not want to do the work at all because the engine was old & they were busy, so I did the work myself while they stopped by to cancel the work order when I got halfway done. Additionally the security gate was not responsive 3 of the 5 times my guests & I arrived. The facilities are nice but I wish I had known to look for somewhere else to have work done, & I wish they had told me that on the first day instead of the third so I didn't waste 2 days waiting for help that never came.
Stayed twice & both times exceeded all expectations. Staff were all extremely accommodating & helpful, the owner is always around & hands on, & the other boaters were very friendly - it's a great place to meet new friends, especially at the restaurant on site with an expansive menu.
Price couldn't be better, though watch out near the fuel dock at low tide, less than 2 feet of water. Dock master went out of his way to give me a ride to town. Even on the Hudson it was a pretty smooth night, didn't roll too much.
Easy slips to get into & out of, dock hands couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, smooth water in the harbor even when it was blowing in Buzzards Bay. Doughnuts in the morning were a great touch too.
First-rate folks, couldn't be friendlier. Look forward to stopping by again.
Very well protected & quiet marina, at least while the restaurant is closed for renovations. Salem is supremely walkable. No problems with electric & water. Will definitely return.
