Very nice marina. We were there in early June. It was quiet due to early season and Covid. Staff was very helpful and stayed a little late to help us tie up after a rougher and slower than expected trip there. Hope to stay there again soon.

Marina Response:
Thank you for your 5 star review. We take great pride in our service and it is always nice to get positive feedback.

Loved this place! My wife and I spent 2 nights there in early August. Perfect. Kim was really nice and helpful. Locals and returning guests were laid back and welcoming. Just might be the best ice cream in the world just steps from the marina. Mother of all ice machines (as one local put it). Maine! Maine! Maine! Endless, peaceful places to explore by boat. Cant wait to go back this fall! On approach follow her directions exactly. When she says turn to the north, pin that compass on north!

Gorgeous setting. Was not prepared for the stern in fixed piling tie-up but George the Harbormaster was extremely patient and good at directing my wife what to do, and she stepped up. Wish I could give direction that well! Hope to be back sometime soon.

Spent a night there last week. Great location. Amazing, secure facilities. Great staff. Felt good knowing Mike the security guard was there all night making rounds. It somehow felt peaceful despite being in the middle of everything. I loved watching the boats come and go from Long Wharf, talking to captain of super yacht next door and watching all the crew climbing all over the big boats for morning cleanup. Friends I was picking up were delayed and dockmaster was very accommodating as far as late check out and temporary parking. I like the BYH coffee cup they gave me in gift bag. It was my first time going into Boston in the boat—no wake starts at the Hyatt. State Police were very nice to the Newbie who didn’t get the memo.

Marina Response:
We are so glad your first boating trip to Boston was a great one! Thank you for the amazing review and for recognizing our incredible staff. Given the short boating season here in Boston, we strive to make each stay as safe, memorable and enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you back!

I’ve stayed at a mooring at Kingman 3 nights over the last 2 weeks. Peaceful setting with beautiful sunsets. Coming from Gloucester it is convenient as a first stop after going through the canal. We used as jumping off point for cuttyhunk, Vineyard, Newport. We even made it to Montauk from there in rough conditions. Fuel dock is convenient with helpful, energetic staff. Didn’t use the launch but they responded quickly to all calls I heard. Plan to go back often to use as base in that area or as starting point for longer trips. Also attentive to dockwa requests and chats. Hope to be back soon!

Facilities were fine. Dockhands were attentive while on dock and helpful while docking. They sure wanted to give us ice. My issues were all preventable by the marina policies and staff. I sent a dockwa chat early afternoon asking for a slip assignment and telling of our ETA. I got no response. At 2:45 I got a text from dockmaster asking when we were expecting to arrive. I responded 4 minutes later telling him when we expected to be there. No response. Called on ch 9 as we approached and was told to stand by. They scrambled to untie a boat they had in our slip. This was after the window in which I said we would arrive. We hovered. After We docked it became clear that though staff was wearing masks they were not enforcing any mask rule on the docks at all. Turning on my underwater lights drew a group of maskless people who hovered around me on the dock. I slipped away as soon as possible but they stayed and fished right off the stern of my boat. We went to dinner. Gate was left wide open All day until 10pm. We were given a code and when we came back from dinner could not open gate. There was no mention of a latch that went through the dock to keep gate from opening. Took a few tries to figure it out. We were not the only ones who struggled. Bush league. When we returned to boat I heard someone in the crowd still fishing off my stern say “ I think he’s staying at the hotel tonight”. At that point I decided to tell them I was turning off the lights and did so. They cursed me. I now know why nice marinas don’t allow fishing. This did not feel like a nice marina to me esp compared to Boston Yacht Haven 2 nights before. They were cheaper and much more professional. I realize the marina can’t choose their guests but simple things like mask enforcement and no fishing rule would have made my stay pleasant. Will not return.
